Abstract Failures in asphalts occurs because of the development of vehicles with high intensity of loads tends to increase in usage of automobiles which results in use of rut resistant Bituminous mixes in the surface course. Rutting and Fatigue cracking are the results of the damage caused due to primary parameters. Cracking can be prevented by maintaining Probable temperature during the preparation of bituminous mix to the laying of mixes. To prevent rutting, the Stone lattice black-top also known as Stone Matrix Asphalt (SMA) can be utilized as a fraction of the bituminous layer. In this study SMA is preferred to check its implementation in all viewpoint such as stability (kg), volume of voids in mineral aggregates (VMA,) deformation (mm), with the usage of different types of Non Conventional fillers which enhances the properties of the mix. Fillers plays a vital role in improving the stability and durability, where as reduction leads to increase voids in the mix. Distinctive fillers like glass powder, magnetite, cement kiln powder and fly ash have been used in the mixes. Twelve sets of test sample were set up by utilizing typical sorts of filler having varied sum in the mixture. Samples prepared at diverse asphalt contents(4.5%,5.5%,6.5%) respectively varying fillers. The Marshall properties obtained for the conventional filler flyash has been set up to exhibit higher stability contrasted with magnetite, glass powder, cement kiln Powder, but have satisfied the minimum requirements. Magnetite filler indicates least deformation at 5.5 % bitumen content and the rate of air voids from the results they are observed to be diminished with the expansion of bitumen substance.

ABSTRACT Traffic is increasing day by day due to increased vehicle ownership and infrastructure development. As the modern highway transportation has high speed, high traffic density, heavy load and channelized traffic, bituminous concrete is subjected to various types of distress such as rutting, fatigue cracking and raveling. Fatigue cracking occurs because bituminous layers are weak in tension. Therefore reinforcement of the bituminous mixes is one approach to improve tensile strength. Natural fibers can be used for reinforcing as a substitute for synthetic fibers due to their lower cost, ecological recycling and low specific gravity. Among natural fibers growing attention is being paid to coir fiber due to its easy availability, good wearing resistance and more durable property. Also rutting along wheel path causes vehicle hydroplaning during rainy seasons due to loss of skid resistance. As well as water accumulated over the longitudinal depressions damages bond between binder and aggregates. Therefore there is a need for a durable mix which can increase the service life of pavement thus reduces life cycle cost. This study is about use of coir fiber in pavement construction to improve the performance characteristics of the asphalt mixture being used. Stone matrix asphalt mixture is a rut resistant and durable mix which is reinforced with coir fiber and tested for various performance characteristics. Coir fiber is a sustainable material which can be used for rutting resistant mixture.   Keywords: Stone matrix asphalt, Coir fiber, rutting

The BID (Board of Industrial Development) framed the legislation and it was introduced before the state legislation and passed in the form of Maharashtra Industrial Act which gave birth to Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC), as a separate corporation on August 1, 1962. The BID was the first personnel strength of MIDC. A small ceremony at Wagle Estate Thane, under the Chairmanship of the Chief Minister Shri Y.B. Chavan, marked the birth of MIDC on August 1, 1962. The Board of Industrial Development during its existence between October 1, 1960 and August 1, 1962 has done enough spade work to identify the locations for setting up industrial areas in different parts of the state. Thus, right in the first year of establishment MIDC came up with 14 industrial areas, to initiate action for infrastructure and help entrepreneurs set up the industrial units in those areas. Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation is the nodal industrial infrastructure development agency of the Maharashtra Government with the basic objective of setting up industrial areas with a provision of industrial infrastructure all over the state for planned and systematic industrial development. MIDC is an innovative, professionally managed, and user friendly organization that provides the world industrial infrastructure. MIDC has played a vital role in the development of industrial infrastructure in the state of Maharashtra. As the state steps into the next millennium, MIDC lives up to its motto Udyamat Sakal Samruddhi i.e., prosperity to all through industrialization. Indeed, in the endeavor of the state to retain its prime position in the industrial sector, MIDC has played a pivotal role in the last 35 years. MIDC has developed 268 industrial estates across the state which spread over 52653 hectares of land. The growth of the Corporation, achieved in the various fields, during the last three years, could be gauged from the fact that the area currently in possession of MIDC has doubled from 25,000 hectares in 1995.

AbstractModern hand surgery in Thailand started after the end of World War II. It is divided into 4 phases. In the initial phase (1950-1965), the surgery of the hand was mainly performed by general surgeons. In 1965-1975, which was the second phase, many plastic surgeons and orthopaedic surgeons graduated from foreign countries and came back to Thailand. They played a vital role in the treatment of the surgery of the hand and set up hand units in many centers. They also contributed to the establishment of the “Thai Society for Surgery of the Hand,” which still continues to operate. In the third phase (1975-2000), there was a dramatic development of microsurgery because of the rapid economic expansion. There were many replantation, free tissue transfers, and brachial plexus surgeries in traffic and factory-related accidents. The first hand-fellow training program began in 1993. In the fourth phase (since 2000), the number of hand injuries from factory-related accidents began declining. But the injury from traffic accidents had been increasing both in severity and number. Moreover, the diseases of hand that relate to aging and degeneration had been on the rise. Thai hand surgeons have been using several state-of-the-art technologies such as arthroscopic and endoscopic surgery. They are continuing to invent innovations, generating international publications, and frequently being invited as speakers in foreign countries.

There are several public cloud providers that provide service across different cloud models such as IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS. End users require an objective means to assess the performance of the services being offered by the various cloud providers. Benchmarks have typically been used to evaluate the performance of various systems and can play a vital role in assessing performance of the different public cloud platforms in a vendor neutral manner. Amazon's EC2 Service is one of the leading public cloud service providers and offers many different levels of service. The research in this chapter focuses on system level benchmarks and looks into evaluating the memory, CPU, and I/O performance of two different tiers of hardware offered through Amazon's EC2. Using three distinct types of system benchmarks, the performance of the micro spot instance and the M1 small instance are measured and compared. In order to examine the performance and scalability of the hardware, the virtual machines are set up in a cluster formation ranging from two to eight nodes. The results show that the scalability of the cloud is achieved by increasing resources when applicable. This chapter also looks at the economic model and other cloud services offered by Amazon's EC2, Microsoft's Azure, and Google's App Engine.
