With the exaltation of the function and the performance of the PLC technique, the application of the industry control network become more and more universal. Particularly In the application whose geography location is scattered and the stand is numerous, it can raise the Networked level completely by a control system renovation. This text mainly introduced PLC network technique which uses PLC as core controller, and makes use of existing telephone network and modem of business as communication line. It enables us to achieve active and passive communication between the master computer and the PLC slave. It focused on solving the call between the PLC and the modem. Finally, it realizeed fully automated monitoring of heat exchanger and water pump station.

On March 17, 1997 Robicon Corporation was requested, by a large Alberta based oil company, to provide a proposal to manage a turn-key, crude oil, pump station project. The oil company had identified an immediate need to expand their North Eastern Alberta Pipe Line system to allow a higher thru-put into the Hardisty, Alberta area: • the pipe line was capacity restricted and customer demand indicated an immediate requirement to increase pipe line thru-put by 70%; • the capacity increase was required by June 30th or earlier.

Variable frequency drives are now frequently used to power large horsepower pipeline pumps to eliminate power costs wasted by throttling, to reduce inrush current on motor start, and to provide greater operating flexibility. This variable speed operation, however, can cause vibration problems in the pump and motor bearings, and in the couplings that are not normally experienced with fixed speed pumps. Enbridge Pipe Line has installed a number of variable frequency drives on units ranging from 2500 to 5000 hp in size and discovered unexpected torsional and lateral resonance vibration in the equipment at certain operating speeds. This presentation discusses the tests that were conducted to determine the source of the vibration, the theoretical analysis of the vibration modes and equipment responses, and the solutions that were implemented to reduce or eliminate the vibration. Recommendations are given for design principles that could be incorporated into the initial pump station design in order to avoid vibration problems with variable speed operation.

Taking use of industry configuration technology in intelligent transportation system (ITS) can solve the problem of close attention to various components and high requirements on technical ability. In this paper, a configuration control is applied to establish remote monitoring on intersection traffic lights. This application can remedy the limitation in graphics when programming in software development. Practice shows that this method has the characteristics, simple to use, visual in effect and has considerable practical value.

ABSTRACT The Kencana 2 (K2) Shaft as a vertical open hole UG facility at Kencana UG PTNHM has approximately 8 l/s inflow of water leaking through the cold joints in the concrete liner at various locations. This water saturates the winder cage room and the guide ropes in the winder of shaft and has caused corrosion issues causing the escape route to be compromised leading to a production loss if not take prevention action. It was proposed to install a prefabricated moulded water ring on the wall of the shaft to direct water to a DN150 services steel pipe line that runs down to a 284m depth down of the shaft wall. This water ring using galvanised material and it is tough and durable. The services pipe DN150 would then be piped away from bottom of the K2 shaft to a nearby KL pump station #3. From observation result after water ring installed that there was no water rain into winder cage and rope, and it also the dripping down of the water along the shaft concrete wall was divert throught to the KL pump station so that the K2 shaft area was getting dry.  Key Word: Modification Shaft Winder Platform, Water Ring Installation.
