Abstract A numerical model is constructed for calculating lightning-induced rapid changes in the polarisation state of a light signal at the output of a fibre-optic communication line with an optical ground wire. It is shown that taking into account anisotropy of real optical fibres has a noticeable effect on the shape of the polarisation rotation speed time profile. It is found that the maximum rate of change in the polarisation state and its temporal profile depend on the location of the lightning strike in the fibre span, the magnitude of fibre anisotropy and the direction of propagation of a light wave.

The article presents the main directions of the qualitative and quantitative assessment of sustainability in the field of infocommunications, shows the differences in approaches to the definition of sustainability. A method is proposed that differs from the known well-grounded application of the provisions of the theory of random impulse flows. The generalized impulse flow describes the robustness of data transmission in the information direction. The estimation method allows one to take into account both the states of the elements of a composite channel, represented by impulse flows of failures and restorations, and transient processes and sub-processes of information exchange (transmission over a communication line, switching, storage in memory, destructive influences, etc.), represented by separate impulse streams. The variability of the composition of the impulse streams makes it possible to increase the accuracy and reliability of the assessment.

The development of technology is currently increasingly rapid, technology plays a role both as a medium of social interaction, a means of education, and a means of entertainment. By applying technology in everyday life, it is hoped that it can help and make work easier. One form of activity is climbing and adventure, which is an activity that combines sports and recreation which is very popular with young people. The Bandung Mountaineering Community (KPGB) is a community with climbing or adventure activities that act as a medium of communication and information between nature activists. This community is expected to be a communication line for establishing friendships to form a strong sense of kinship between fellow climbers, especially in the city of Bandung. Busy and busy working hours cause the members to find it difficult to arrange a schedule for climbing activities. The number of obstacles and levels of difficulty in the climbing field, makes many people feel afraid to climb. The climbers who had accidents and disappeared, and even died, added to the fear of those who wanted to climb. From the existing problems, it is necessary to have an idea of how to solve the problem when there are many activities from all members who cannot climb. So this game application with the theme of climbing adventure, was formed to meet the satisfaction of members of the Bandung Mountaineering Community, with Cocos 2d-x programming based on the Android game engine using a smartphone that produces climbing adventure games with 2D (two-dimensional) characters. This application is designed with simple features, therefore users can play this adventure game comfortably. There is also a feature that will connect users directly to the KPGB website, in which there is information about climbing equipment. This application is expected to provide pleasure for members of the Bandung Mountaineering Community who cannot carry out adventure or climbing activities directly.

Abstract The necessity of improving the metrological characteristics and functional capabilities of the fiber-optic sensor for measurements at the large distances (more than 10 km) is substantiated. The new method for constructing a communication line with the fiber-optic sensor for controlling exposure dose in a large range of its variation (several orders of magnitude) in a remote mode is proposed. The functional capabilities of the sensor are determined; its connection setup and measurement limits are developed. The experimental results are presented.

Abstract Quantum key distribution (QKD) systems are open systems. Thus, an eavesdropper can actively influence the elements of the system through the communication line, altering their regular operation. One known attack is an attack with detector blinding. With such an attack, the eavesdropper can obtain the entire key and remain undetectable. The paper proposes a fundamentally new method of detecting and protecting quantum cryptography systems with phase coding against the attack with avalanche detector blinding. The proposed method is based on diverting a part of the input signal in the receiving terminal to bypass the interferometer and deliver it to the same avalanche detectors. Measuring the detector response in different time windows, both for the bypassed signal and the normal operation range, one can effectively identify the ongoing detector blinding attack. The method does not require radical changes in existing quantum cryptography systems and is quite universal, since it can be used for any phase-coded quantum key distribution protocol. The method provides a fundamental strategy of detecting and protecting against the attack at the level of the quantum key distribution protocol, and not at the level of technical ‘patches’.

Abstract The space-time fractional telegraph equation and the space-time fractional modified third-order Kdv equations are significant molding equations in theoretic physics, mathematical physics, plasma physics also other fields of nonlinear sciences. The space time-fractional telegraph equation, which appears in the investigation of an electrical communication line and includes voltage in addition to current which is dependent on distance and time, is also applied to communication lines of wholly frequencies, together with direct current, as well as high-frequency conductors, audio frequency (such as telephone lines), and low frequency (for example cable television) used in the extension of pressure waves into the lessons of pulsatory blood movement among arteries also the one-dimensional haphazard movement of bugs towards an obstacle. The presence of chain rule and the derivative of composite functions allows the nonlinear fractional differential equations (NLFDEs) to translate into the ordinary differential equation employing wave alteration. To explore such categories of resolutions, the extended tanh-method is accomplished via Conformable fractional derivatives. A power sequence in tanh was originally used as an ansatz to provide analytical solutions of the traveling wave type of certain nonlinear evolution equations. To convert this problem to a standard differential equation, a partial complex transformation that has been summarized succinctly is utilized correctly thus, with all of the free parameters, numerous exact logical arrangements are required. The results are found as hyperbolic and rational functions involving parameters, when specific values are supplied to the parameters solitary wave solutions are formed from traveling wave solutions. The outcomes achieved in this study are king type, single soliton, double soliton, multiple solitons, bell shape, and other sorts of forms and we demonstrated that these solutions were validated through the Maple software. The proposed approach for solving nonlinear fractional partial differential equations has been developed to be operative, unpretentious, quick, and reliable to usage.
