Aim: To study the short-and long-term results of 2RT nanosecond laser treatment for CSC. To compare clinical results with those with AntiVEGF. Methods: Nanosecond laser (2RT, Ellex) was used. Patients were followed by BCVA, FAF, OCT, Angio-OCT. Results: 90% of the patient treated with 2RT had improvement of visual acuity and contrast sensitivity. 19 % [1] patients showed no improvement. 81% of the 2RT treated patients had total resorbtion of subretinal fluid against 60% treated with AntiVEGF. Functional results correlated with the atrophy of RPE in the macula. 46% (19 patients) had resolution on the first month, 23% [2]-on the third and 12% [3]-on the sixth month. The time of resolution shows no relation to the baseline pigment epithelial atrophy. Four patients presented with a recurrency of the disease in the follow-up period. 19% [1] were non responders. 60% of AntiVEGF treated eyes were responders and 40% were non responders. Those who responded to treatment needed between 3 and 10 injections. Conclusion: 2 RT is a non-invasive treatment modality with no adverse effects and high success rates.

Cleft of the mitral valve is a rare cause of the congenital mitral regurgitation. Isolated cleft is uncommon finding and is more often found associated with some form of endocardial cushion defect. Cleft of the septal leaflet is found much more often than the defect in the posterior leaflet. Mitral clefts can extend to the mitral annulus or they can be less ''deep'' and show only minor regurgitation. Clinical importance of the isolated cleft of the mitral valve (ICMV) is that it can be successfully corrected by surgery and that it can have good long-term results.

Female urethral diverticulum is a rather rare pathology, often ignored, which affects from 1 to 4% of the white population. In this study we report our series, limited to a selected population of women affected by neurologic bladder (6 paraplegic patients; 2 patients with multiple sclerosis) who were referred to our Urosurgical Unit within the space of four years. The diagnostic work-up relevant to these patients is discussed, together with the therapeutic strategies carried out and the long-term results obtained.

Abstract Vertical condensation of gutta-percha is one of the frequently used techniques of hermetic and three-dimensional obturation of root canal system which is one of the primary goals of endodontic tooth treatment. Techniques for filling root canals have been described since ancient Egypt and have undergone dynamic development in recent decades. The aim of the article is to analyze the technique of obturation of root canals using vertical condensation of guttapercha and to point out its benefits and pitfalls. The poor-quality treatment of the tooth deteriorates its prognosis, function, and long-term survival in the oral cavity; thus, the hermetic obturation of the root canals is one of the most important pillars of the complex tooth treatment. Obturation of the root canals by vertical condensation of warm gutta-percha is nowadays considered in the correct indications as one of the most commonly used techniques in the excellent dental practices. Even though it is quite technologically challenging and time-consuming it enables to reach high level of predictability and clinical success. Currently, the obturation technique based on master gutta-percha cone combined with the calcium-silicate based sealer is emerging. However, long term results of clinical studies and follow-up are needed to make a significant improvement in the area of endodontics.

The paper presents immediate and long-term results of early invasive treatment tactics in 467 patients with various forms of unstable angina (UA), including 129 patients with unstable rest angina, 225 patients with unstable exertional angina, and 93 patients with a new onset angina. Percutaneous coronary interventions on a symptom-affected artery at a single procedure were performed in 213 cases (48%), indications for coronary artery bypass grafting were identified in 182 patients (41%), and only in 52 cases (11%) the treatment was limited to medicinal therapy. Coronary angiography performed in the initial 12–48 hours makes it possible to identify the indications to myocardial revascularization, to avoid inconsistencies in the choice of optimal treatment tactics and non-invasive risk assessment.

AbstractObjectives:The three-dimensional anatomy and conspicuous location of the nasal tip makes it one of the most challenging sites of facial plastic surgery. This article reviews literature on nasal tip sculpture using suture techniques, as well as the authors' own experience.Methods:A search was conducted using Pubmed, the Google internet search engine and the authors' files, using the keywords ‘nasal tip’, ‘suture’, ‘rhinoplasty’ and ‘septorhinoplasty’.Results:Common nasal tip suture techniques and suture algorithms are presented, along with a summary of the indications and side effects of each technique.Conclusions:Predictable long-term results are more likely to occur with minimal local tissue excision. Suture techniques remodel the shape of the nasal tip by altering the configuration of, and the relationship between, the tip cartilages and their supporting structures; they also preserve nasal tip anatomy and limit resection. Intra-operatively, the effects are immediately visible, and can be adjusted or reversed. Tip sutures should therefore be considered instead of tissue excision whenever possible.
