In this activity designed for high school students, learners compose rap songs about specific historical events. The resulting songs will detail the significance, implications, and influences of the student-researched historical events. The activity commences by prompting students to research historical events, guiding them to delve deeper into topics that they find interesting and relevant to their lives. After students have settled on an issue that they feel compelled to study, they create rap songs that are inspired by the emotional impact of their chosen historical event. Students are also required to teach other students their songs, resulting in the entire class learning about multiple historical events through rap.
