So the dinner at Audley Court was postponed, and Miss Alicia had to wait still longer for an introduction to the handsome young widower, Mr George Talboys. I am afraid, if the real truth is to be told, there was, perhaps, something of affectation...

This essay sets out the case for regarding confidential gossip as a significant concept in the study of organizations. It develops the more general concept of gossip by combining it with concepts of organizational secrecy in order to propose confidential gossip as a distinctive communicative practice. As a communicative practice, it is to be understood as playing a particular role within the communicative constitution of organizations. That particularity arises from the special nature of any communication regarded as secret, which includes the fact that such communication is liable to be regarded as containing the ‘real truth’ or ‘insider knowledge’. Thus it may be regarded as more than ‘just gossip’ and also as more significant than formal communication. This role is explored, as well as the methodological and ethical challenges of studying confidential gossip empirically.

This introductory paper traces a general perspective of the nowadays Chicanx/Latinx stateof the question, including articles, notes, creative poems and drawings, and a tribute inmemoriam Rudolfo A. Anaya (1937-2020). Challenging canons, norms and genres seemsto be particularly appropriate when tackling ideology from the polychromatic gaze oftranscultural minorities in the US. As such, Chicanx/Latinx literary and artistic expressionsact as catalysts of renovation and change, not only in terms of content but also playing withforms in a freer, experimental way. Transgressing what is considered “normal” seems to bethe only way to cope with fringes and frames, and thus a contemporary redefinition of theworld is reached to highlight the “real” truth of artistic normativity.

In this paper, the author emphasizes the specific case of the Bosnian-Herzegovinian intraparty dispute in the context of the reconstruction of the republican leaderships in Yugoslavia, the change of “Croatian Spring participants” and “liberals” as well as the so-called “senior cadres” at the beginning of 1970s. Pasaga Mandzic's years-long dispute with the current political leadership in Tuzla and also in the Republic will touch upon various issues, from plans and results of economic and urban development, integration of enterprises, organization and activities of political and party leadership to establishing the "historical truth" about the events throughout the war years 1941 and 1942. Considering the current socio-political discourse, Mandzic will come out very boldly, demanding that it is finally time to "speak openly" about the actual war events, the consequences of Partisan-Chetnik cooperation at the end of 1941, the dominance of the Serb element in the communist leadership and its attitude towards the Bosniaks during the war, but also in the post-war period. The insistence on establishing the "real truth" entailed a revision of the existing image of a "glorious war past", which also raised the question of consistent application of the principles of brotherhood and unity. Ultimately, years of clarification resulted in the political elimination and moral discredit of Pasaga Mandzic.

"I am lying." It might be said that this statement is, implicitly, the single real truth of the fiction-forming author, and its complications are both the emblem and bane of all novels. In his epic Don Quixote, Miguel de Cervantes exploits the problem of making lies real by intricately waving together such disparate elements as autobiography and high fantasy within the unreliably unreliable voices of several subjective storytellers. And his conclusion, it seems, is Don Quixote himself, a man who combats the protean strangeness of the world by replacing it with a deliberate reality of his own. At the cusp of the European Renaissance, Cervantes' Don Quixote makes the choice which will become a necessity for post-Cartesian thinkers, namely, a personal determination, an authorship of "the real" in a world where inconsistencies and subjectivities constantly threaten to chain the truth-seeking man, like Prometheus, to the confusion of the liar's paradox.
