This chapter aims to construct a line of inquiry on mobile convergence, a notion that has evolved since the end of the twentieth century, and to highlight the most promising directions of research. The authors apply the notion of mobile convergence not only to the convergence between the mobile phone and other communication media but also to the convergence of the smartphone with different families of objects. After a critical review of the most important studies that have been carried out on this topic, the authors advance the theoretical reflection on convergence in an attempt to capture the driving forces behind this phenomenon. To do so, they explore convergence from a sociological perspective and through the lens of political economy. Finally, they offer a projection regarding the new directions in which mobile convergence processes are headed and the new assemblages of devices and practices this convergence could bring about in the context of the Internet of things and QR codes.

This article introduces the services and development of the Internet of Things, and analyzes the driving forces and obstacles behind such development. Looking at application types and the different development stages of the Internet of Things, this article categorizes its services into four types: identity related services, information aggregation services, collaborative-aware services, and ubiquitous services. For the first two types of services, applications and system framework are discussed; for the last two types, development trends are discussed. Services provided by the Internet of Things will gradually be integrated into human life and society; with the development of the Internet of Things, applications will evolve from relatively simple identity-related and information aggregation-related applications, to collaboratively-aware and finally ubiquitous applications. It will then be possible for the Internet of Things to be fully integrated with Internet and telecommunications networks

The Internet of Things continues to set the pace of many aspects of the scientific and technological development worldwide. Moreover, it is expected to do so, at least, for the next ten years, according to forecasts that predict trillions of devices connected to the Internet [1]. In addition to influencing different factors of people’s daily lives, this new vision of the world poses a series of challenges and opportunities that have an effect on general aspects of the economy and politics.

The Internet of Things (IoT) is one major field which is fast developing now a days. The IoT means the connection or controlling of an equipment using internet. The another field everyone attracted is towards the robotics. Everyone wants to use a robot because they can do things what we can only imagine to do so. Here in this project we are blending the IoT with the robotics. The robot is controlled by the IoT here. The robot used here is the wheeled robot. Because it is easy to use a wheeled robot in a smooth and hard surface, and it is more energy efficient than the legged robot. The basic motive of the robot here is to pic and place an object from one place to another. This paper discuss about the pick and place wheeled robotic arm which is controlling using the Internet of Things.

Technological advancements have led to the creation of new paradigms like the Internet of Things (IoT). These technologies are moving the digital space into a period where they will power billions of devices leading to the transformations of products and services provided by businesses. Therefore, the main purpose of this study is to explore the benefits of deployment of the Internet of Things (IoT) in businesses using the case of the Qatari retail businesses. The study assumed an interpretivism research philosophical stance and an addictive approach to theory utilising the Technology, Organisation, Environment model to guide the research. The research data were gathered using a qualitative approach utilising semi-structured interviews as the method of data collection. Accordingly, the heads of information technology in the selected retail industry businesses in Qatar were interviewed to answer the main research questions. The findings uncovered that retailers in Qatar are using the IoT devices such as sensors, scanners, beacons, smart shelves, personalisation alerts, and FRIDs to enable their key business operations and processes. Even though the Qatar retail businesses are not concerned about the specific IoT devices utilised, the benefits of their deployment established from the study include automation of business processes (Technological benefits), efficiency and personalisation of customer requirements (Organisational benefits), and increased collaboration and supply chain optimisation within the entire Qatar retail industry (Environmental benefits). As such, the results of the study agree with the TOE model that technology, organisation, and environment are the driving forces behind technology adoption and utilisation. Finally, among practical implications, a collaboration between software developers and the retail industry project professionals will ensure that the IoT artefacts are designed with security mechanisms, thus enhancing the security and safety of the information gathered from the IoT devices. Further, the study offers guidance on the theoretical elements that contribute to the benefits of utilising the IoT in Qatar retail businesses.

As the fundamental element of the Internet of Things, the QR code has become increasingly crucial for connecting online and offline services. Concerning e-commerce and logistics, we mainly focus on how to identify QR codes quickly and accurately. An adaptive binarization approach is proposed to solve the problem of uneven illumination in warehouse automatic sorting systems. Guided by cognitive modeling, we adaptively select the block window of the QR code for robust binarization under uneven illumination. The proposed method can eliminate the impact of uneven illumination of QR codes effectively whilst meeting the real-time needs in the automatic warehouse sorting. Experimental results have demonstrated the superiority of the proposed approach when benchmarked with several state-of-the-art methods.

The existing stand-alone multimedia machines and online multimedia machines in the market have certain deficiencies, so they cannot meet the actual needs. Based on this, this research combines the actual needs to design and implement a multi-media system based on the Internet of Things and cloud service platform. Moreover, through in-depth research on the MQTT protocol, this study proposes a message encryption verification scheme for the MQTT protocol, which can solve the problem of low message security in the Internet of Things communication to a certain extent. In addition, through research on the fusion technology of the Internet of Things and artificial intelligence, this research designs scheme to provide a LightGBM intelligent prediction module interface, MQTT message middleware, device management system, intelligent prediction and push interface for the cloud platform. Finally, this research completes the design and implementation of the cloud platform and tests the function and performance of the built multimedia system database. The research results show that the multimedia database constructed in this paper has good performance.
