There has recently been a revival of interest in anti-de-Sitter space (AdS), brought about by the conjectured duality between physics in the bulk of AdS and a conformal field theory on the boundary. Since the whole subject of branes, singletons and superconformal field theories on the AdS boundary was an active area of research about ten years ago, we begin with a historical review, including the idea of the "membrane at the end of the universe." We then compare the old and new approaches and discuss some new results on AdS 5 × S5 and AdS 3 × S3.

This contribution is a status report on a research program aimed at obtaining quantum-gravitational physics inside a cosmological horizon through dS/CFT, i.e. through a holographic description at past/future infinity of de Sitter space. The program aims to bring together two main elements. The first is the observation by Anninos, Hartman and Strominger that Vasiliev’s higher-spin gravity provides a working model for dS/CFT in 3+1 dimensions. The second is the proposal by Parikh, Savonije and Verlinde that dS/CFT may prove more tractable if one works in so-called “elliptic” de Sitter space – a folded-in-half version of global de Sitter where antipodal points have been identified. We review some relevant progress concerning quantum field theory on elliptic de Sitter space, higher-spin gravity and its holographic duality with a free vector model. We present our reasons for optimism that the approach outlined here will lead to a full holographic description of quantum (higher-spin) gravity in the causal patch of a de Sitter observer.

For the spherical unit speed nonlightlike curve in pseudo-hyperbolic space and de Sitter space [Formula: see text] and a given point P, we can define naturally the pedal curve of [Formula: see text] relative to the pedal point P. When the pseudo-sphere dual curve germs are nonsingular, singularity types of such pedal curves depend only on locations of pedal points. In this paper, we give a complete list of normal forms for singularities and locations of pedal points when the pseudo-sphere dual curve germs are nonsingular. Furthermore, we obtain the extension results in dualities, which has wide influence on the open and closed string field theory and string dynamics in physics, and can be used to better solve the dynamics of trajectory particle condensation process.

In particular, we investigate the form in which this correspondence is established for a system of interacting scalar and a vector fields propagating in de Sitter space. We analyze some necessary (but not sucient) conditions for which conformal symmetry is preserved in the dual theory in (D - 1)-dimensions, making possible the establishment of the correspondence. The discussion that we address in this paper is framed on the context of <em>inationary cosmology</em>. Thusly, the results obtained here pose some relevant possibilities of application to the calculation of the fields’s correlation functions and of the <em>primordial curvature perturbation</em> \zeta, in inationary models including coupled scalar and vector fields.</span></p></div></div></div></div>

An algebra of functions on q-deformed Anti-de Sitter space [Formula: see text] with star-structure is defined for roots of unity, which is covariant under Uq(so(2, D-1)). The scalar fields have an intrinsic high-energy cutoff, and arise most naturally on products of the quantum AdS space with a classical sphere. Hilbert spaces of scalar fields are constructed.
