This chapter provides a review of the scholarly literature on entrepreneurial teams and team formation. It pays special attention to two emerging areas of research that present many promising opportunities for future work. First, the chapter discusses the role of resource transfer in the context of start-up firms. It argues that an understanding of the antecedents and consequences of the founding process would be significantly advanced by more explicit theorizing and effort to empirically identify the specific types of resources entrepreneurial team members bring to start-up firms. It highlights one recent advancement in this space—work that has focused on a team’s ability to transfer customer and client relationships from the parent to start-up firms—and provides an outline of open research questions in this realm. Second, the chapter provides a primer on a recent methodological advancement—the use of two-sided assortative matching models—that can be applied to entrepreneurial team assembly to alleviate ongoing concerns that team formation is fundamentally an endogenous process. It demonstrates how these models can be applied using a wide variety of founder, cofounder, and early team member attributes, including an individual’s ability to transfer customer relationships. Importantly, it proposes that synergies emerging from the use of two-sided assortative matching models to study a broader set of team member attributes that include resource transfer will open promising new avenues for future research.

In the question-and-answer (Q&A) communities of the “China Agricultural Technology Extension Information Platform”, thousands of rice-related Chinese questions are newly added every day. The rapid detection of the same semantic question is the key to the success of a rice-related intelligent Q&A system. To allow the fast and automatic detection of the same semantic rice-related questions, we propose a new method based on the Coattention-DenseGRU (Gated Recurrent Unit). According to the rice-related question characteristics, we applied word2vec with the TF-IDF (Term Frequency–Inverse Document Frequency) method to process and analyze the text data and compare it with the Word2vec, GloVe, and TF-IDF methods. Combined with the agricultural word segmentation dictionary, we applied Word2vec with the TF-IDF method, effectively solving the problem of high dimension and sparse data in the rice-related text. Each network layer employed the connection information of features and all previous recursive layers’ hidden features. To alleviate the problem of feature vector size increasing due to dense splicing, an autoencoder was used after dense concatenation. The experimental results show that rice-related question similarity matching based on Coattention-DenseGRU can improve the utilization of text features, reduce the loss of features, and achieve fast and accurate similarity matching of the rice-related question dataset. The precision and F1 values of the proposed model were 96.3% and 96.9%, respectively. Compared with seven other kinds of question similarity matching models, we present a new state-of-the-art method with our rice-related question dataset.

Il saggio presenta uno studio di caso sull'efficacia occupazionale dei tirocini di formazione e orientamento prendendo in esame i Search and matching models quale principale riferimento per lo studio della disoccupazione e delle dinamiche che favoriscono l'inserimento lavorativo. Secondo tale approccio l'impiego di strumenti e di misure di politica attiva del lavoro come i tirocini, che favoriscono l'incontro tra domanda e offerta di lavoro abbattendo i costi di ricerca di un impiego, avrebbe come effetto una crescita occupazionale. Partendo da una posizione critica nei confronti di tale approccio lo studio coglie alcune caratteristiche tipiche nell'utilizzo dei tirocini, ne esalta le potenzialità formative ma mette in dubbio le potenzialità occupazionali. The work presented here investigates the characteristics of the different impeller backswept angle matchings for a wide stable operating range in an asymmetric double suction centrifugal compressor. The numerical simulation was employed to investigate the influence of different backswept angle matchings on the stable operating range. The aim is to propose a proper change of the backswept angle matching between two impeller sides to improve the impeller power capability and mass flow distribution, furthermore, to delay the operating mode transition and widen the stable operating range of the compressor. Firstly, the method to determine the optimum backswept angle matching obtained by the theory calculation. Then, three matching models were proposed and analyzed in detail. In three matching models, the backswept angle differences between the front and rear impeller side are 0°, 10° and 20°, respectively. The analysis mainly focused on the influence of the different backswept angle matchings on the compressor flow field characteristics and the mass flow distribution characteristics. The results show that the change of the impeller backswept angle matching can improve the mass flow distribution characteristics for two impeller sides and further reduce the stall mass flow rate of the double suction compressor. The model that the backswept angle difference is 10° can delay the operating mode transition and reduce the stall mass flow of the double suction compressor. The model that the backswept angle difference is 20° can also reduce the stall mass flow and finally enable the front impeller into the stall condition. Therefore, the proper change of the backswept angle matching can achieve the purpose of reducing the stall mass flow and widening the operating range for the double suction centrifugal compressor.
