The article is devoted to the problem of the growing need of the mineral water fields’ exploitation process automation. The implementation of control systems and mathematical modeling methods can significantly reduce the fields’ structural integrity violation and pollution of aquifers risks. This research is especially relevant for the fields with difficult conditions of mineral waters occurrence, since the insufficient accuracy of determining the fields’ operating mode parameters can lead to a severe incident. The article describes a distributed mathematical model developed from the geo-filtration equation. Based on this model, a new method for assessing the mutual influence of the fields, the production of which is carried out from one aquifer, is presented. For a more detailed study of the operating mode parameters influence on the object a physical model of the reservoir was developed. The using of Arduino sensors and the developed software allows us to construct a 3D graph of the input action and its response at the different points of the object as temperature distribution. The simulation results make it possible to use the proposed model for the automatic control system synthesis.

This article is devoted to detailed experimental studies of the flow behind the impeller of an air model of a propeller-type microhydroturbine in a wide range of operating parameters. The measurements of two component distributions of averaged velocities and pulsations for conditions from part load to strong overload are conducted. It is shown that the flow at the impeller outlet becomes swirled when the hydraulic turbine operating mode shifts from the optimum one. The character of the behavior of the integral swirl number, which determines the state of the swirled flow, is revealed. Information about the flow peculiarities can be used when adjusting the hydraulic unit mode to optimal conditions and developing recommendations to expand the hydraulic turbine operation control range with preservation of high efficiency. This stage will significantly save time at the stage of equipment design for specific field conditions of water resource.

The paper considers the problem of developing a digital system for an induction motor speed control which has a sensor and a speed regulator to increase accuracy of speed control. Speed control is carried out by a scalar method due to consistent change in the stator frequency and voltage. To obtain the uniformity of the motor overload capability in a given range the control mode is used associated with maintaining uniformity of flux linkage of the motor stator. Induction motor scalar models do not possess high accuracy and their parameters and their parameters can vary over a wide range, which complicates the controller design and achievement of robustness of the speed control system. To eliminate these disadvantages, it is proposed to use a vector model in a rotating coordinate system having subjected it to linearization at different points of the operating mode with the account of the adopted law of frequency control, to ensure robust absolute stability of the system on the basis of application of a graphical method for constructing a modified amplitude-phase characteristic.

This paper introduces and uses a single-phase, high-power LED driver with a battery backup. The buck–boost converter and reverse converter are both combined to achieve optimal performance. In the first part of the integrated circuit, the buck–boost converter is simply used to adjust the power when operating in the non-continuous operating mode. The reverse converter provides free voltage to the LEDs when released as a remote DC–DC converter. The battery backup cycle directly charges the battery at the same power as the LED driver required and provides charging power when there is no electricity. This paper demonstrates the functionality of the entire system and proves that it is an effective solution for new lighting applications.

Abstract The compliance of the actual heat consumption for heating cold water for public hot water supply service with the approved standard has been analyzed. Using passive engineering experiments, we studied the operating modes of hot water supply systems for several groups of houses, in which different methods for regulating water consumption in hot water supply systems were used. Data were collected using online energy monitoring and commercial metering system. Features of the static and dynamic load regulation of hot water systems have been investigated. The effect of methods for regulating the heat load of hot water supply systems on their actual heat consumption has been analyzed. An assessment has been made of the possibility of bringing the actual operating mode of the hot water systems to the specified value which is the basis for calculating the consumption rate. Ways to improve the efficiency of hot water supply systems have been determined. Conclusions have been drawn concerning the need to revise the standardized indicators of hot water quality and adjust the methodology for calculating the consumption rate in hot water supply systems.

Abstract The article is dedicated to the study of the heat transfer processes that occur in the feedstuff disinfection chamber that relies upon electric contact heating. The mechanism of the temperature gradient appearance, which is the main cause of the heat losses has been investigated. The basic equations of heat conduction are considered. A method is proposed for determining the key parameters of the heat transfer process. A functional diagram of the experimental setup with a description of the operation of individual units is presented. The dependence for the transient operating mode of the unit on the growth of heat losses has been established. Thermal images of different shapes of the unit dielectric chambers have been provided as well as temperature field distribution through the chamber wall.

The results of experimental studies evaluating the influence of longitudinal slits in a conical diffraction outlet, combined with an electron collector, of a 10 GHz relativistic BWO (Backward-Wave Oscillator) with an operating mode TM01 are presented. It has been shown experimentally that replacing a solid conical waveguide with a similar longitudinal-slotted waveguide has little effect on the performance of the BWO. The use of a longitudinally slotted diffraction outlet instead of a continuous one makes it possible to reduce the volume of plasma and microparticles formed on the diffraction outlet surface under the action of an electron beam, and to improve their adsorption and removal.

Abstract This paper describes an experimental study of the operation of an internal combustion engine of fueled by a low-calorific value gas. The main operating parameters of low-power ICE were determined. Efficiency was also evaluated when the ICE was converted to operate on producer gas. In the experiment, it was shown that the engine reached a stable operating mode under load and data on the temperature and exhaust gases composition were obtained. According to our estimates, in the steady-state operation of the internal combustion engine with a load, the efficiency factor was about 22 %. When using the model gas, the from generator output power, was about 30-40 % of the nominal value, under variable load conditions. However, it was found that in steady-state operation, the power of the internal combustion engine was 40-55% of the nominal value.

The main task of mechanical engineering is to organize the production of a range of machines to meet the needs of all industries. These are power, transport, lifting and transport units, agricultural machinery, construction industry, etc. Among them, one can single out devices in which the relative movement of their parts is assigned, that is, kinematic pairs are included in the calculation models. The real operating conditions of machines are varied, but most often they are associated with periodic starts-stops, which determines the relevance of the study of unsteady modes. The analysis of the operation of such models becomes more complicated. For successful design results, mathematical modeling of individual processes in mechanisms is carried out. One of the first calculations is dynamic. Modern, available CAD / CAE systems for modeling and analysis provide automation capabilities, building more realistic design models. The paper discusses the approbation of the use of CAD for modeling the dynamics of a jib crane with a set of four units: platform, boom, sleeve and rod. The developed model is combined: the platform and the sleeve correspond to the kinetostatic model, and the boom and rod are elastic. The crane is designed to perform lifting operations in a vertical plane, with the possibility of relative movement in 3 rotational and one translational kinematic pairs. The performed calculations of the static, modal and dynamic analyzes of the links of the mechanism confirm the adequacy of their models. Among them is the task of instantaneous load application, which is typical for the "lifting and picking" operating mode of crane lifting mechanisms. The deformation of the entire structure in one of the boom positions is also considered. The determination of the reaction forces in the hydraulic cylinder provides important information for the selection of the power unit.
