<p>As the population of world is growing day by day, there is a rapid increment in the vehicle production. With the increase in number of the vehicles, more parking spaces and efficient ways of parking are required. In the proposed system, a new and cost efficient way of finding the free spaces in parking lot is proposed and also different space detection technologies are compared. This system will be helpful for the drivers in finding the vacant spaces in the car parking lots using a simple technology in which a balloon will be used to determine the vacant parking spaces. Since this technology is cost efficient and effective, this system is termed as smart parking system.</p>

This paper focuses on developing a smart parking system based on IOT. In many metropolitan cities, people are always worried whether they will find a parking slot or not. Even, finding an empty parking slot is very time con- suming and wastes a lot of fuel. After parking, to pay the required charges, a paper receipt is given and so there is a large amount of paper wasted every day. Thus, we have proposed a system consisting of ultrasonic sensors, NodeMCU deployed on-site and an android application available for the user. The android application will help the user to check the availability of a parking slot and re- serve it. This will save time, reduce fuel consumption and thereby pollution.

Internet Of Things (IoT) is a continually growing area which aids us to unite diverse objects. The proposed system exhibits the universal notion of utilizing cloud-based intellectual automotive car parking facilities in smart cities as a notable implementation of the IoT. Such services demonstrate to be a noteworthy part of the IoT and thus serving users in no small amount due to its pure commerce positioned qualities. Electromagnetic fields are being used by RFID to detect and track tags ascribed to objects automatically. The RFID technology is used in this system along with suitable IoT protocols to evade human interference, which reduces the cost. Information is bartered using readers and tags. RFID and IoT technologies are mainly used to automate the guide systems and make them strong and more accurate. Open Service Gateways can be effectively used for this module. This system established on the consequence of IoT and the purposes are solving the chaos, bewilderment, and extensive backlogs in parking spaces like malls and business parks that are customary as a consequence of the increased use of automobiles. The proposed work aims to solve these problems and offer car drivers a hassle-free and instantaneous car parking experience. While a number of nodes are positioned depends on topographical restrictions, positioning of prominent anchor sensor nodes in the smart parking is a primary factor against which the efficiency and cost of the parking system hang. A Raspberry Pi would act as a mini-computer in our system. A suitable smallest path methodology would be cast-off to obtain the shortest distance between the user and every car park in the system. Hence, the pausing time of the user is decreased. This work furthermore includes the practice of remotely booking of a slot with the collaboration of android application exercising smartphones for the communication between the Smart Parking system and the user.

In the current era, we are facing a new problem of parking of vehicles. It is a major problem in urban cities. The problem is more tough because of continues growing number of vehicle and also size of vehicles. Car parking is not just a major problem in India but also in all over the world. We know that one million vehicles burn oil every day. In this paper, we propose an automatic and real-time system for automated car parking. This system would be implemented by the use of internet of things (IOTs). IOT refers as any physical thing that is connected to internet or exchanging information or data between internet and physical device. Arduino Uno is a microcontroller used in IOT. It is used for building digital devices, and interactive objects that can sense and control physical devices. Our smart parking will be implementing using Arduino Uno board for car parking and Ethernet shield to connect parking area with web or internet. By using our automated parking system, a user can save much time for searching free parking space. An infrared sensor has to be employed in each slot to check that a particular plot is vacant or not. Searching smart parking system helps people to search parking space accessible with the ease of IOT automation by supplying parking slot free information. The user can book in advance the parking slot and update the information to the server. Every user has a unique id and password. In case a car in stolen and enter the parking IOT the server checks the database and inform the police.

Indonesia is a country with the high number of vehicle users. The high number of vehicles affecting the needs of parking area. Meanwhile, wider parking area would make people difficult to find available parking slot. One of the solution is creating smart parking system, a system that can help people to find available parking slot easier. Most of smart parking system using an expensive sensors installed on each parking slot to detect parked car on that slot. However, the installation of that system is too expensive, then not everyone can afford it. This research purpose is to create a cheaper smart parking system using the help of CCTV's camera. System reading the image of parking area from CCTV's camera, then decide all of the captured parking slot are available or not using background substraction method. From the testing result, the accuracy of this smart parking system is 93.69%.
