Web-based technologies and interactive TV had rapidly penetrated the advertising mainstream and displace traditional forms of advertising. As most television advertising goes unnoticed, more and more advertisers attempt to communicate their stories across media platforms. The consistent spikes in usage statistics on television, Internet and mobile devices dedicatedly support the three-screen advertising in a cross media environment. Maximizing opportunities for traditional TV ads in collaborating with Internet ads will continuously improve the impact of a mass media campaign. We present the current research efforts in the field of analyzing TV ads as well as linking TV ads with relevant Internet ads. While our relationship with TV remains strong and durable, consuming media from anywhere, at any time, is a crucial part of the much broader picture of consumers utilizing rich media. How to collect correlated advertisements across multiple media platforms such as TV and Internet would see significant growth potential in cross-media marketing campaigns.

Welfare states have historically been built on values of egalitarianism and universalism and through high taxation that provides free education, health care, and social security for all. Ideally, this encourages participation of all citizens and formation of inclusive public sphere. In this welfare model, the public service media are also considered some of the main institutions that serve the well-being of an entire society. That is, independent, publicly funded media companies are perceived to enhance equality, citizenship, and social solidarity by providing information and programming that is driven by public rather than commercial interest. This article explores how the public service media and their values of universality, equality, diversity, and quality are affected by datafication and a platformed media environment. It argues that the embeddedness of public service media in a platformed media environment produces complex and contradictory dependencies between public service media and commercial platforms. The embeddedness has resulted in simultaneous processes of adapting to social media logics and datafication within public service media as well as in attempts to create alternative public media value-driven data practices and new public media spaces.

The submitted study addresses the topic of the current state of the opinion journalism and its genres in the Slovak periodical press. The author draws attention to the question of classification of the opinion journalism of a rational and emotional type from the genre categorization point of view and, simultaneously, reflects on its application in the present journalistic practice. This brings a certain rate of confrontation between the defined theoretical premises and their subsequent practical (non-)implementation. The main objective of the study is to clarify the presence of genres of analytical and literary opinion journalism stated by media theory in the environment of the Slovak periodicals. Presentation of the basic terminological axis and the related explication of journalism genres included in the opinion journalism constitute the secondary objectives of the paper. For the purposes of achieving the set objectives, the author uses methods of logical analysis of text in combination with discourse analysis. Similarly, she predicts the evident presence of the phenomenon of hybridization in the Slovak journalistic practice.
