This study aims to develop virtual laboratory learning media based on discovery learning of the immune system and to determine the feasibility of a virtual laboratory learning media based on discovery learning of the immune system. This study is a research and development adopting the 4-D device development model. In this study the design of the 4-D development was modified into 3 steps (3-D) namely Define, Design, and Develop. The study was conducted at one of the state high schools in Sragen Regency. The research subjects were divided into two, namely limited trial subjects and field trials determined using simple random sampling. The data was analized by using qualitative and quantitative techniques. The results of the study stated that virtual laboratory media based on discovery learning of immune system was created by using adobe animate CC 2017 with a design concept writing, images, animation, and video with characteristics of discovery learning models and virtual laboratory media based on discovery learning of immune system feasible to be used in learning based on validity tests from several experts with a very valid level of validity.

The existence of a touch of technology on laboratory learning becomes another alternative as a supporter of laboratory learning. Different practitioner's wishes and intensity of relatively short laboratory practice which resulted in dissatisfaction in the implementation of a practicum. Thus, an intelligent learning alternative is needed. This intelligent learning aims to provide high-quality and high-performance training skills that can assist the practitioner in solving problems related to practicum materials. The intelligent learning system is a learning system that handles some student instruction without any intervention from a teacher.Alternative learning system that can support the creation of Intelligent Learning System is by Natural Language Processing (NLP) method. This final project provides an explanation of the creation and implementation of intelligent learning systems in the Object Oriented Programming Computer Laboratory. This system consists of several stages: parsing, similarity, stemming, Knowledge Base which is designed in an interactive form between praktikan and agent based dialoge based application. The success rate of this system in answering questions from praktikan session II is 88.75%.

This paper describes an intensive design leading to the implementation of an intelligent lab companion (ILC) agent for an intelligent virtual laboratory (IVL) platform. An IVL enables virtual labs (VL) to be used as online research laboratories, thereby facilitating and improving the analytical skills of students using agent technology. A multi-agent system enhances the capability of the learning system and solves students’ problems automatically. To ensure an exhaustive Agent Unified Modeling Language (AUML) design, identification of the agents’ types and responsibilities on well-organized AUML strategies is carried out. This work also traces the design challenge of IVL modeling and the ILC agent functionality of six basic agents: the practical coaching agent (PCA), practical dispatcher agent (PDA), practical interaction and coordination agent (PICA), practical expert agent (PEA), practical knowledge management agent (PKMA), and practical inspection agent (PIA). Furthermore, this modeling technique is compatible with ontology mapping based on an enabling technology using the Java Agent Development Framework (JADE), Cognitive Tutor Authoring Tools (CTAT), and Protégé platform integration. The potential Java Expert System Shell (Jess) programming implements the cognitive model algorithm criteria that are applied to measure progress through the CTAT for C++ programming concept task on IVL and successfully deployed on the TutorShop web server for evaluation. The results are estimated through the learning curve to assess the preceding knowledge, error rate, and performance profiler to engage cognitive Jess agent efficiency as well as practicable and active decisions to improve student learning.

This contribution presents some aspects of the Department Interdisciplinary Research Project (PRID) of Roma Tre University. The main aim of the project is to define an innovative e-learning integrated didactic model that can promote the acquisition and development of skills for Lifelong Learning (European Parliament & European Council, 2008). To this end, the implementation of the following essential variables and components of the Integrated Model is a priority: 1) the learners’ motivational involvement; 2) the quality of the experience of immersion within a virtual environment; 3) evaluation and self-evaluation practices. Considering the original model successfully experimented in the Degree Course in Education Sciences at “Roma Tre” University (Domenici, 2016) and particularly focused on evaluation and self-evaluation processes, we propose an implementation of so-called affective usability of the e-learning platform by creating relaxing, stimulating and aesthetic online environments, promoting a greater immersive capacity. To this must be added the students’ use of advanced ICT programs enabling them to experience scientific demonstrations and experiments in order to acquire a scientific mentality through the use of Context Simulation Tests and Virtual Didactic Laboratories (VDLs). The effectiveness of implementing the FAD e-learning system in acquiring the scientific thinking modality will be empirically assess.
