Ion Channel sensors have several applications including DNA sequencing, biothreat detection, and medical applications. Ion-channel sensors mimic the selective transport mechanism of cell membranes and can detect a wide range of analytes at the molecule level. Analytes are sensed through changes in signal patterns. Papers in the literature have described different methods for ion channel signal analysis. In this paper, we describe a series of new graphical tools for ion channel signal analysis which can be used for research and education. The paper focuses on the utility of this tools in biosensor classes. Teaching signal processing and machine learning for ion channel sensors is challenging because of the multidisciplinary content and student backgrounds which include physics, chemistry, biology and engineering. The paper describes graphical ion channel analysis tools developed for an on-line simulation environment called J-DSP. The tools are integrated and assessed in a graduate bio-sensor course through computer laboratory exercises.

The coming of the internet and the advancement of technology make revolution in Language Pedagogy, especially in the EFL classroom. Teaching the students who were born as the digital natives forces EFL, teachers have to integrate technology in language teaching. This article was written based on a recent EFL teacher’s practice. This study employed a case study method with 30 students of grade 9 of Junior High School in the west part of Indonesia as the participants. The aim of this study was to elaborate the way how the teacher made the students more familiar with the computer and the internet access in EFL Classroom. A Messenger Group as the main communication platform, supported by other web-based platforms including school’s Facebook (FB) group and online materials were integrated into learning activities. The findings showed that students found using technology in the classroom was easy due to the teacher’s instruction. They also reported that the technology integration in their EFL classroom encouraged their creativity and helped to accommodate their diverse interest. As a result, the students feel more comfortable and confident using technology for educational purposes and, become more creative and innovative in doing their project. Beside the clear instructions from the teacher, the availability of the computer laboratory, internet access, and students’ smartphones really help the success of this course.

This study examines the educational facilities which are important in providing quality education at secondary schools. The researcher examined the appropriateness of physical infrastructure, teaching-learning material, library, computer laboratory, and science laboratory at secondary schools to find out nexus of quality education with these provided educational facilities. The research design of the study was quantitative in nature. The research population included 194 secondary schools in Bahawalnagar, 194 head teachers, and 3739 SSTs. The sample of the study was comprised of over 45 head teachers and 90 sets of all the secondary schools of Tehsil Bahawalnagar selected by using cluster random sampling technique. A questionnaire was developed on a 5- point Likert scale to examine & analyze the educational facilities including teaching-learning material, computer laboratory, and library and science laboratory. An observation checklist was also developed and used for the collection of data. The further checklist was divided into three options yes, no and status further divided into two options useable and unusable, appropriateness, and inappropriateness. Data was collected & analyzed using descriptive statistics including percentage and frequency to examine the appropriateness of educational facilities. Quantitative data was analyzed using computer-generated software SPSS. Results revealed that the majority of the respondents were agreed with educational facilities. The study concludes that the researcher observe the educational facilities through a checklist maximum facilities were present, useable and appropriateness of these was also registered. Research study recommended that more opportunities for students may be available for experience science being exposed to more practical’s work in labs which may enhance better performance in science subjects.

ABSTRAKKemajuan teknologi membangun perubahan dalam berbagai bidang, khususnya dalam bidang pendidikan. Semua elemen dalam bidang tersebut dituntut untuk dapat memanfaatkan perkembangan teknologi, seperti hal nya guru yang harus mampu beralih dari penggunaan modul cetak ke modul elektronik (e-modul). Tujuan dari pelaksanaan program pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah untuk meningkatkan dan melatih keterampilan teknologi para guru bahasa Inggris SMK di Karawang. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilakukan dengan memberikan pendampingan membuat e-modul interaktif berbasis Content Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) menggunakan Sigil Software kepada 15 orang guru Bahasa Inggris SMK di Karawang. Pendampingan pembuatan e-modul ini dilakukan dengan metode ceramah, tanya jawab, serta praktik pembuatan e-modul. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan di laboratorium komputer SMK Saintek Nurul Muslimin. Hasil dari pelaksanaan kegiatan ini menunjukan bahwa program pengadian kepada masyarakat mampu meningkatkan kompetensi para guru bahasa Inggris dalam penguasaan materi dan pengajaran sesuai dengan jurusan bidang keahlian di sekolah. Selain itu, dapat memberikan manfaat yang sangat besar dan tepat sasaran bagi guru Bahasa Inggris. Bentuk pendampingan seperti ini merupakan bentuk yang sangat efektif untuk memberikan tambahan wawasan serta pengetahuan baru di bidang teknologi informasi di luar proses pembelajaran yang sekolah berikan untuk meningkatkan kualitas guru. Kata kunci: bahasa inggris; content language integrated learning (clil); e-modul; pendampingan; sigil software. ABSTRACTThe Advances in technology build changes in various fields, especially in the field of education. All elements in these fields can take advantage of technological developments, such as teachers who must be able to switch from using print modules to electronic modules (e-modules). This community service activity is carried out by providing assistance in the form of interactive e-modules based on Content Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) using Sigil Software to 15 English Vocational High School teachers in Karawang. Assistance in the manufacture of e-modules is carried out by means of lectures, questions and answers, and the practice of making e-modules. This activity was carried out in the computer laboratory of SMK Saintek Nurul Muslimin. The purpose of implementing this community service program is to improve and train the technology skills of vocational English teachers in Karawang. The results of the implementation of this activity show that the community service program is able to improve the competence of English teachers in mastering the material and teaching in accordance with the field of expertise at school. In addition, it can provide enormous and targeted benefits for English teachers. This form of assistance is a very effective form of providing additional insight and new knowledge in the field of technology outside of the learning process provided by schools to improve the quality of teachers.             Keywords: assistance; e-modul; english language; content language integrated learning (clil); sigil software.

The paper deals with the development of software for traffic flow simulation combining the widest spectrum of mathematical approaches used in this field. Macro- and microscopic models, models of cellular automata as well as different numerical methods of their computer implementation are incorporated into a digital platform. Original developments of the authors of the paper  such as quasi-gas dynamic traffic model and multilane cellular automata model take the main place. Potential users of the software are students and researchers. The platform possesses an intuitive graphical interface ensuring interactivity. Microsoft Visual Studio with C# is chosen as the development environment, the Unity 3D engine is employed for visualization and collaboration with WinForm projects. In the future, the platform can be transformed into a network computer laboratory providing access to information resources via  Internet.

This article provides information on characteristics and classification of electronic educational resources according to the type and purpose of use. The main parameters of electronic educational resources such as electronic type of publication (resource); subject area of study; the proposed level of education; the proposed type of educational process; peculiarity of the audience are described in the article. The possibilities of using electronic educational resources to ensure the interactivity of the learning process are also considered, their advantages such as the ability to simulate various processes that replace the use of special equipment and reagents, interactivity, the possibility of network distribution, ease of information retrieval, openness for entering new data, compact storage data are also describes, as well as some disadvantages such as the possibility of information oversaturation of the educational process, the emergence of additional cognitive load, etc are noted in the article. The article also explains such types of electronic educational resources as a computer textbook (textbook, lecture notes, etc.), an electronic reference book, a computer book of tasks, a computer laboratory practice (models, simulators, etc.), a computer testing system that are widely used by teachers to increase the interactivity of the lessons. New types of e-learning resources that have become the most popular links with the transition to online learning like Zoom, Google meet, Google classroom, Microsoft teams and their role in improving the efficiency of the educational process are also described in this article. The role of the teacher and their tasks and goals and requirements, which have increased with the advent of digital educational resources, are also discussed in the article.

This paper describes a problem in computer laboratory maintenance and inventory. Inventory of goods in Every company or institution always has a connection with the data management process of goods / equipment owned by the company. In addition to inventory, maintenance is also very necessary in order to keep company assets under control, safe, and always maintained. For this reason, an Inventory Information System is needed as well as a maintenance system in managing the data. The results of this design are focused on managing information about the management of goods and several aspects regarding the maintenance of goods, especially in the computer laboratory of SMK Bhakti Anindya. With the implementation of the maintenance information system and laboratory inventory at Bhakti Anindya Vocational School, data management and equipment maintenance will be better. Tulisan ini menjelaskan mengenai sebuah permasalahan dalam perawatan dan inventaris laboratorium komputer. Inventarisasi barang dalam Setiap perusahaan atau sebuah lembaga selalu memiliki keterkaitan dengan proses pengelolaan data barang / peralatan yang di miliki oleh perusahaan tersebut. Disamping  inventarisasi, hal perawatan juga sangat diperlukan  demi menjaga agar aset perusahaan terkontrol, aman, dan selalu terawat. Untuk itulah di butuhkan suatu Sistem Informasi Inventaris sekaligus sistem perawatannya dalam mengelola data tersebut. Hasil dari rancang bangun ini dititik beratkan pada pengelolaan informasi tentang pengelolaan barang dan beberapa aspek mengenai perawatan barang terutama pada bagian laboratorium komputer SMK Bhakti Anindya. Dengan diimplementasikannya sistem informasi Perawatan dan inventaris laboratorium di SMK Bhakti Anindya, pengelolaan data barang dan perawatan alat akan lebih baik.

The computer laboratory is a place for practical learning for students, where computers have an important role in the smooth running of the practice. The use of computer labor at any time is very vulnerable to damage. If there is damage it will disrupt the teaching and learning process. Utilization of data mining in determining the level of damage is one of them. SMKN 1 Sintuk Toboh Gadang has 3 laboratories, TKJ (Network Computer Engineering), RPL (Software Engineering) and Technician labor. Application of the Decision Tree method in identifying damage to computer laboratory equipment, especially TKJ (Computer Network Engineering) labor. The data obtained in this study are computer equipment sourced from the computer laboratory of SMKN 1 Sintuk Toboh Gadang. Based on the analysis of the computer laboratory, there are 50 computer laboratory equipment. Furthermore, if the data is processed, several variables are needed to identify the level of damage to labor equipment including the name of the tool, number of tools, inspection, duration of use, and condition. The result of testing this method is to test whether the labor equipment can still be used or repaired. The purpose of this research is to help computer labor technicians to identify computer labor equipment that can still be used or repaired so that no damage occurs during practical learning hours. Furthermore, the best method in determining the level of damage to computer laboratory equipment is the Decision Tree Algorithm method. Decision Tree Algorithm is a predictive model using a decision tree structure and makes complex decisions simpler. The results of the research method show that the condition variable has the highest Gain value, namely 0.4734353, then the variable length of use is obtained with a Gain value of 0.896038. The factors that cause damage include the condition of the tool and the duration of use.

The purpose of the study was to investigate the level of use of electronic resources (e-resources) by postgraduate students at the University of Zululand in South Africa. The theoretical basis of the study was informed by the Technology Acceptance Model proposed by Davis in 1989. The study adopted a post-positivist research paradigm to enable numerous perspectives by using both quantitative and qualitative research approaches. A total of 66 questionnaires were sent to postgraduate students and 46 (70%) were returned. In addition, interviews were conducted with eight information librarians and two e-resource librarians from the University of Zululand. The study revealed that the use of the library by postgraduate students at the University of Zululand was exceptionally high. In the same vein, the level of awareness about the availability of e-resources was high. Librarians and postgraduate students were able to identify the different types of e-resource available at the University of Zululand library. Electronic databases and electronic journals (e-journals) were highly used, but electronic books (e-books), electronic catalogues (e-catalogues), and CD-ROMs were rarely used. The marketing methods of e-resources include departmental and faculty conferences. The study unveiled a limited budget and inadequate functional computers as challenges that hinder the effective use of e-resources by postgraduate students. The study recommends that the management of the University of Zululand increase the budget for e-resources. The institution should also consider seeking funds to purchase additional computers and expanding the computer laboratory to accommodate a larger number of postgraduate students.
