Topology Control has been shown to provide several benefits to wireless ad hoc and mesh networks. However these benefits have largely been demonstrated using simulation-based evaluations. In this paper, we demonstrate the negative impact that the PlainTC Topology Control prototype has on topology stability. This instability is found to be caused by the large number of transceiver power adjustments undertaken by the prototype. A context-based solution is offered to reduce the number of transceiver power adjustments undertaken without sacrificing the cumulative transceiver power savings and spatial reuse advantages gained from employing Topology Control in an infrastructure wireless mesh network. We propose the context-based PlainTC+ prototype and show that incorporating context information in the transceiver power adjustment process significantly reduces topology instability. In addition, improvements to network performance arising from the improved topology stability are also observed. Future plans to add real-time context-awareness to PlainTC+ will have the scheme being prototyped in a software-defined wireless mesh network test-bed being planned.

An effective systemic approach to task will lead to efficient communication and resource sharing within a network. This has become imperative as it aids alternative delivery. With communication properly etched into the fabrics of today’s society via effective integration of informatics and communication technology, the constant upgrades to existing network infrastructure are only a start to meeting with the ever-increasing challenges. There are various criteria responsible for network performance, scalability, and resilience. To ensure best practices, we analyze the network and select parameters required to improve performance irrespective of bottlenecks, potentials, and expansion capabilities of the network infrastructure. Study compute feats via Bayesian network design alongside upgrades implementation to result in a prototype design, capable of addressing users need(s). Thus, to ensure functionality, the experimental network uses known simulation kits such as riverbed modeler edition 17.5 and cisco packet tracer 6.0.1-to conduct standardized tests such as throughput test, application response-time test, and availability test.

The paper describes the main features of blockchain technology, provides the main areas of use of this technology. Today, blockchain has evolved into a reliable and secure way to store and record transactions across a wide range of application domains. However, the impact of existing solutions on the current network infrastructure needs to be considered. The authors propose to create a system for generating and storing blockchain traffic based on the JavaScript programming language. This solution cannot be applied to cryptocurrencies, but it allows you to evaluate the work of a distributed database based on blockchain technology. The aim of the work is to analyze the delays in the generation and distribution of traffic between various numbers of nodes and the dependence of the speed of distribution and block generation on the performance of computers. The paper also considered the algorithm for joining a new node to the cluster and sending a new block to the blockchain, as well as the scheme of a node in a blockchain cluster, and presented the results of an experiment with a quantitative assessment of network performance characteristics.

Recently, cloud service providers have been gradually changing from virtual machine-based cloud infrastructures to container-based cloud-native infrastructures that consider performance and workload-management issues. Several data network performance issues for virtual instances have arisen, and various networking solutions have been newly developed or utilized. In this paper, we propose a solution suitable for a high-performance computing (HPC) cloud through a performance comparison analysis of container-based networking solutions. We constructed a supercomputer-based test-bed cluster to evaluate the serviceability by executing HPC jobs.

Legacy IPv4 networks are strenuous to manage and operate. Network operators are in need to minimize the capital and operational expenditure of running network infrastructure. The implementation of Software-defined networking (SDN) addresses those issues by minimizing the expenditures in the long run. Legacy networks need to integrate with the SDN networks for the smooth migration towards the fully functional SDN environment. In this paper, we compare the network performance of the legacy network with the SDN network for IP routing in order to determine the feasibility of the SDN deployment in the Internet Service provider (ISP) network. The simulation of the network is performed in the Mininet test-bed and the network traffic is generated using distributed Internet traffic generator. Open network operating system is used as a controller for the SDN network in which SDN-IP application is used for IP routing. Round trip time, bandwidth, and packet transmission rate from both SDN and legacy networks are first collected and then the comparison is done. We found that SDN-IP performs better in terms of bandwidth and latency as compared to legacy routing. The experimental analysis of interoperability between SDN and legacy networks shows that SDN implementation in production level carrier-grade ISP network is viable and progressive.
