In Reliability Generalization (RG) meta-analyses, the importance of bearing in mind the problems of range restriction or biased sampling and their influence on reliability estimation has often been highlighted. Nevertheless, the presence of heterogeneous variances in the included studies has been diagnosed in a subjective way and has not been taken into account in later analyses. Procedures to detect the presence of a variety of sampling schemes and to manage them in the analyses are proposed. The procedures are further explained with an example, by applying them to 25 estimates of Cronbach’s alpha coefficient in the Hamilton Scale for Depression.

Abstract In the paper issues related to the design of a robust adaptive fuzzy estimator for a drive system with a flexible joint is presented. The proposed estimator ensures variable Kalman gain (based on the Mahalanobis distance) as well as the estimation of the system parameters (based on the fuzzy system). The obtained value of the time constant of the load machine is used to change the values in the system state matrix and to retune the parameters of the state controller. The proposed control structure (fuzzy Kalman filter and adaptive state controller) is investigated in simulation and experimental tests.

AbstractA schematic diagram of a hydraulic drive system is provided to stabilize the speed of the working body by compensating for volumetric losses in the hydraulic motor. The diagram shows the inclusion of an originally developed self-adjusting choke whose flow rate in the inlet pressure change range tends to reverse - with increasing pressure the flow through it decreases. Dependent on the hydraulic characteristics of the hydraulic motor and the specific operating conditions.
