A brand new self-compensated capacitive fuel level sensor has been proposed in this paper. Through mathematics manipulation and theoretical analysis, we design the self-compensated structure of capacitive level sensor. The multiple segmentation structure makes compensation for temperature and medium possible. Furthermore, the effect caused by adhesion on the sensor electrodes if the adhesion fails to return initial position when the plane’s attitude is changing has been analyzed. Additionally, based on RF admittance theory, the transducer which can eliminate the adhesion effect has been designed and implemented using phase-locked sampling technique. Through level experiment and data analysis, the fuel level sensor proved to achieve all the destinations, including compensation for temperature and medium and elimination of adhesion effect. Hence, the accuracy of level measurement has been improved.

A cross-capacitance liquid level sensor is based on the principle of cross capacitance. This study designed a new single-tube cross-capacitance fuel-level sensor. The fuel-level measurement model is established for a single-tube cross-capacitive sensor, and the relationship between the measured liquid level and sensor output capacitance is derived. The characteristics of the sensor were tested experimentally. The experimental results demonstrate that the linearity error of the liquid-level sensor of the single-tube calculation for the spacecraft is ±0.48%, the repeatability error is ±0.47%, and the hysteresis error is ±0.68%. The cross-capacitive fuel-level sensor developed in this study can be used in the fuel tank of spacecrafts owing to its low weight and high precision.

This proposed methodology is derived for automatic fuel level measurement by smart device. The discovery of automobile vehicles is a blessing to human beings from engineering and science. The majority of the transport fuels are powered by traditional fuels like gasoline, octane, diesel etc. The price of these transport fuels are also increasing. The objective of this project is to describe the automatic prevention of fuel theft by the drivers and also we are going to bring solution for how accurately the petrol bunk is filling the fuel for your vehicles. The advantage of our project is we also done with fuel indication system. Whenever liquid level goes high or low it will indicate by an alarm signal. When the flow rate or fuel consumption rate becomes more than usual rate the fuel level falls drastically then the sensor is activated and sends a signal. After receiving the signal the GSM module sends a message to a specific number by indicating something unusual. It is also been found that it is low cost technology and it can also be implemented in all the vehicles.
