This paper presents a comparative analysis of a new topology based on an asymmetric hybrid modular multilevel converter (AHMMC) with recently proposed multilevel converter topologies. The analysis is based on various parameters for medium voltage-high power electric traction system. Among recently proposed topologies, few converters have been analysed through simulation results. In addition, the study investigates AHMMC converter which is a cascade arrangement of H-bridge with five-level cascaded converter module (FCCM) in more detail. The key features of the proposed AHMMC includes: reduced switch losses by minimizing the switching frequency as well as the components count, and improved power factor with minimum harmonic distortion. Extensive simulation results and low voltage laboratory prototype validates the working principle of the proposed converter topology. Furthermore, the paper concludes with the comparison factors evaluation of the discussed converter topologies for medium voltage traction applications.

In this paper unified power quality conditioner has been used to enhance low voltage ride through capability of grid connected wind conversion system taking Doubly fed induction generator (DFIG). Unified Power quality conditioner (UPQC) device is a combination of series active filter and shunt active filter. This custom power device is mainly used to mitigate power quality issues which is an essential factor today because of wide application of power electronics devices. UPQC is capable to deal with voltage and current imperfection simultaneously. It is installed in the system mainly to improve the power quality i.e. Voltage sag/swell, Harmonics, reactive power compensation etc. at point of common coupling. System is modeled in MATLAB/SIMULINK and results shows utilization of UPQC for the enhancement of LVRT of a DFIG wind system according to Grid code. when fault occurs in the system, it will create voltage dip and series compensator of UPQC injects during this time to prevent disconnection from grid and stay connected to contribute during fault. UPQC is also used for fast restoration of system steady state, power factor improvement, prevent rotor over current.

In this paper, an ultra-wideband fully differential two-stage telescopic 65-nm CMOS op-amp is presented, which uses low-voltage design techniques such as level shifter circuits and low-voltage cascode current mirrors. The designed op-amp consists of two stages. While the telescopic first stage provides high speed and low swing, the second stage provides high gain and large swing. Common-mode feedback circuits (CMFB), which contain five transistors OTA and sensing resistors, are used to set the first-stage output to a known value. The designed two-stage telescopic operational amplifier has 41.04[Formula: see text]dB lower frequency gain, 1.81[Formula: see text]GHz gain-bandwidth product (GBW) and 51.9∘ phase margin under 5[Formula: see text]pF load capacitance. The design consumes a total current of 11.9[Formula: see text]mA from a 1.2-V supply voltage. Presented fully differential two-stage telescopic op-amp by using low-voltage design techniques is suitable for active filter in vehicle-to-everything (V2X) applications with 120[Formula: see text][Formula: see text]m[Formula: see text]m layout area.
