Fuel price crisis has caused people to demand a car that is having a low fuel consumption without compromising the engine performance. Designing a naturally aspirated engine which can enhance engine performance and fuel efficiency requires optimisation processes on air intake system components. Hence, this study intends to carry out the optimisation process on the air intake system and airbox geometry. The parameters that have high influence on the design of an airbox geometry was determined by using AVL Boost software which simulated the automobile engine. The optimisation of the parameters was done by using Design Expert which adopted the Box-Behnken analysis technique. The result that was obtained from the study are optimised diameter of inlet/snorkel, volume of airbox, diameter of throttle body and length of intake runner are 81.07 mm, 1.04 L, 44.63 mm and 425 mm, respectively. By using these parameters values, the maximum engine performance and minimum fuel consumption are 93.3732 Nm and 21.3695×10-4 kg/s, respectively. This study has fully accomplished its aim to determine the significant parameters that influenced the performance of airbox and optimised the parameters so that a high engine performance and fuel efficiency can be produced. The success of this study can contribute to a better design of an airbox.

One of the central issues in the hidden subgroup problem is to bound the sample complexity, i.e., the number of identical samples of coset states sufficient and necessary to solve the problem. In this paper, we present general bounds for the sample complexity of the identification and decision versions of the hidden subgroup problem. As a consequence of the bounds, we show that the sample complexity for both of the decision and identification versions is $\Theta(\log|\HH|/\log p)$ for a candidate set $\HH$ of hidden subgroups in the case \REVISE{where the candidate nontrivial subgroups} have the same prime order $p$, which implies that the decision version is at least as hard as the identification version in this case. In particular, it does so for the important \REVISE{cases} such as the dihedral and the symmetric hidden subgroup problems. Moreover, the upper bound of the identification is attained \REVISE{by a variant of the pretty good measurement}. \REVISE{This implies that the concept of the pretty good measurement is quite useful for identification of hidden subgroups over an arbitrary group with optimal sample complexity}.

AbstractListeners learn from their past experience of listening to spoken words, and use this learning to maximise the efficiency of future word recognition. This paper summarises evidence that the facilitatory effects of drawing on past experience are mediated by abstraction, enabling learning to be generalised across new words and new listening situations. Phoneme category retuning, which allows adaptation to speaker-specific articulatory characteristics, is generalised on the basis of relatively brief experience to words previously unheard from that speaker. Abstract knowledge of prosodic regularities is applied to recognition even of novel words for which these regularities were violated. Prosodic word-boundary regularities drive segmentation of speech into words independently of the membership of the lexical candidate set resulting from the segmentation operation. Each of these different cases illustrates how abstraction from past listening experience has contributed to the efficiency of lexical recognition.

This paper presents a candidate set in the case does not produce only scan through a database to extract the top-k strongly correlated item pairs method. Secondly, the structural information using a relational database, an appropriate estimate of the effective threshold, so that the results of K contains at least one project to effectively address the relational database on the Top-K strongly related to the problem of mining projects, and without Pay too much computational cost.

Abstract. The research presented in this paper focuses on an application of a newly developed physically-based watershed model approach, which is called Representative Elementary Watershed (REW) approach. The study stressed the effects of uncertainty of input parameters on the watershed responses (i.e. simulated discharges). The approach was applied to the Zwalm catchment, which is an agriculture dominated watershed with a drainage area of 114.3 km2 located in East-Flanders, Belgium. Uncertainty analysis of the model parameters is limited to the saturated hydraulic conductivity because of its high influence on the watershed hydrologic behavior. The assessment of outputs uncertainty is performed using the Monte Carlo method. The ensemble statistical watershed responses and their uncertainties are calculated and compared with the measurements. The results show that the measured discharges are falling within the 95% confidence interval of the modeled discharge.

The paper aims to analyze the influence of the Balassa-Samuleson effect on the competitiveness of Bosniaand Herzegovina. As we know, theBalassa and Samuelson argue that developing economies have an appreciating currency, because they have relatively high inflation due to higher productivity growth in the production of tradable goods. This problem has existed, more or less, in all transitional countries in the EasternEurope, and it was particularly stressed in the countries with a fixed exchange rate. This paper just shows that in Bosnia and Herzegovina, in which monetary policy operates on the principles of "currency board", there is an extremely high influence of theBalassa-Samuelson effect, which leads not only to make a competitive position on the international market worse, but it brings up the question of sustainability of the existing currency board system.

Bureau of Social Services in West Java Provinces has a fundamental duty organize formulation of general policy and coordination, reporting and evaluation of religion, education and culture, health and the environment. Employees have an important role in carrying out the task of the Bureau of Social Services. Implementation of discipline for employees has a function to improve employee performance. The Problems of this bureau is the declining performance of employees in 2015 due to lack of work discipline on Bureau of Social Services in West Java Regional. The effort to improve employee performance with these problems is suspected factors work discipline that has an influence on employee performance. Work discipline has a very high influence in the creation of employee performance Bureau of Social Services in West Java Regional, the value of R (correlation) produced is 0,745, it can be said that the discipline of work and employee performance are positively related 74.5% , While the coefficient of determination R2 (R Square) is 0.554, which means the ability to work discipline variable in influencing the performance of employees in the Bureau of Social Services in West Java Regional amounted to 55.4%, while 44.6% is the contribution of other factors which was not observed in this study. Employee performance (Y) can be explained by the discipline of work through regression Y = 0,646 + 0,849 X. This shows the influence of employee discipline (X) on employee performance (Y) is positive at 0,849, thus if the variable work discipline has increased 0,849 then the variable performance of employees will also increase number of 0,646. 


In a social network the individuals connected to one another become influenced by one another, while some are more influential than others and able to direct groups of individuals towards a move, an idea and an entity. These individuals are named influential users. Attempt is made by the social network researchers to identify such individuals because by changing their behaviors and ideologies due to communications and the high influence on one another would change many others' behaviors and ideologies in a given community. In information diffusion models, at all stages, individuals are influenced by their neighboring people. These influences and impressions thereof are constructive in an information diffusion process. In the Influence Maximization problem, the goal is to finding a subset of individuals in a social network such that by activating them, the spread of influence is maximized. In this work a new algorithm is presented to identify most influential users under the linear threshold diffusion model. It uses explicit multimodal evolutionary algorithms. Four different datasets are used to evaluate the proposed method. The results show that the precision of our method in average is improved 4.8% compare to best known previous works.
