Steel is produced from iron ore and purification of metal scrap, leading to manufacture of hundreds of tonnes of steel slag each year. This study investigated the optimum replacement of granite with Ife Iron and Steel Nigeria Limited (ISN) slag that produce maximum Compressive Strength (CS), Split Tensile Strength (STS) and Flexural Strength (FS) of concrete using Response Surface Methodology (RSM) from Design Expert Version 7.0. The outcome of the study showed that the optimum replacement of granite with ISN was 28.85% ISN at 0.47 W/C.

Herbal products usually have less palatability on their taste even though they are healthy and nutritious. Thus, this study aims to formulate polyherbal carbonated beverages, followed by the evaluation of sensory, physicochemical properties and their compliances with the halalan thoyyiban principle. Five formulations were prepared by varying the amount of water and polyherbal extracts that were designated using Design Expert 6.0.4 software. The most accepted formulation was formulation 1 (F1), containing 12.50% polyherbal extract and 87.50% water. F1 was characterised for its physicochemical properties, including carbon dioxide volume, pH, and total acidity, with 3.0 g/L, 4.5, and 1.7 %, respectively, and these findings have complied with the halalan thoyyiban principle. The antioxidant properties were evaluated by using 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH), ferric reducing antioxidant potential (FRAP), as well as total phenolic content (TPC), and it exhibited 1.25 mg GAE/mL,1.08 mM Fe (II) and 0.39 mg GAE/mL respectively. Eight Halal Control Point (HCP) were identified along with the production. Moreover, the beverage was found to have antioxidant properties and nutritional content (carbohydrate (0.3%) and energy content (2.0 kcal/100g)), which can give health benefits to the consumer and proven safe for consumption (LC50 =1066.60 μg/ mL). To conclude, the formulated polyherbal carbonated beverage is accepted by the consumer and complies with the halalan thoyyiban principle.

This study aims to know how the procedure for developing interactive powerpoint learning media and testing the feasibility of interactive powerpoint learning media products for third grade students of SDN 007 Tebing Karimun. This research was a research and development (R & D) that refers to the Borg and gall. Data on quality of product development were collected by questionnaire. Data analyzed with descriptive quantitative and qualitative techniques. The results of this study showed that: (1) the validation of material expert based on eligibility was in the criteria of very feasible (83%); (2) design expert validation was in the criteria very feasible (100%); (3) the response of the third grade teacher to the interactive powerpoint learning media developed was in the very good criteria (83%); (4) the results of the response of student trials to the feasibility of the media carried out were initial field trials with very good criteria (92%), small group field trials with very good criteria (84%) and limited group field trials with very good criteria (86%). This shows that the interactive powerpoint learning media theme 1 subtheme 3 animal growth for third grade students of SDN 007 Tebing Karimun is feasible to be used as learning media in the schools. Keywords: Media Development, Interactive Powerpoint, Animal Growth

Colour is one of most important properties of foods and beverages and is a basis for their identification and acceptability. Anthocyanin from red cabbage was extracted using 50 % ethanol. The extract was dealcoholized by Liquid Emlusion Membrane technology (LEM). Parafin oil was used as a solvent, lecithin was used as a surfactant and water as stripping medium. Response surface methodology (RSM) was used to design the experiments. A total of 30 experiments were conducted in accordance with central composite rotatable design. Design expert 8 was used to design the experiments. % extraction of alcohol in each case was determined. A suitable model was fitted to experimental data by regression analysis (R-square=0.93). Response surface plot were analysed and optimum parameters for dealcoholization were found to be speed=365.44 rpm, time=18.62 min, concentration of lecithin=2.84 %, feed to emulsion ratio=3.05. A maximum dealcoholisation of 18.63 % was observed under these conditions

Abstrak: Tujuan penelitian untuk menghasilkan produk video pembelajaran teknik vokal yang layak digunakan sehingga dapat menstimulasi kecerdasan musikal siswa. Jenis penelitian adalah penelitian pengembangan  dengan desain ADDIE. Model pengembangan produk disusun secara terprogram dengan urutan yang sistematis. Desain ADDIE memiliki lima tahapan, yakni: analisis, desain, pengembangan, implementasi, dan evaluasi Subjek penelitian siswa kelas XI SMA Maarif Nu Pandaan. Sampel penelitian 30 siswa. Instrument penelitian berupa lembar observasi. Teknik analisis data menggunakan deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian; (1). Uji Ahli materi teknik vokal berada pada kualifikasi sangat baik, (2). Uji ahli desain grafis berada pada kualifikasi sangat baik, (3) uji ahli media video dan desain grafis berada pada kualifikasi sangat baik, (4). Uji coba penggunaan video teknik vokal pada kelas XI di SMA Maarif Nu Pandaan sangat baik. Disimpulkan bahwa video teknik vokal dapat menstimulasi kecerdasan musikal dengan rata-rata uji oba produk mencapai 90%  kriteria sangat baik. Kata Kunci: Kecerdasan Musikal, Media Pembelajaran Teknik Vokal  Abstract: The purpose of the research is to produce a learning video product about vocal techniques that are appropriate to use so that they can stimulate student musical intelligence. The type of research is development research with the ADDIE development model. The product development model is programmed in a systematic order. The ADDIE design has five stages, namely; analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Research subjects are XI students of SMA Maarif Nu Pandaan. The research sample is thirty students, the research instrument was in the form of an observation sheet. The data analysis technique uses mixed methods qualitative and quantitative. Research result: (1) expert tes of vocal technique material is in very good qualification, (2). The graphic design expert test is in very good qualification, (3) the video media and graphic design expert test is in very good qualification, (4) the trial of using vocal technique video in class XI at SMA Maarif Nu Pandaan was very good. It was concluded that vocal technique video can stimulate musical intelligence with by average of the trial product reached 90% very good criteria. Keywords: Musikal Intelligence, Vocal Technique Learning Media

Purpose This study aims to the optimization using three factors and three-level parameters (sliding speed [rpm], sliding distance [m/s] and load [N]) of design matrix were adapted to Box–Behnken design using design expert v8.0 software. Based on the parameters, to develop the linear regression equation and to find the significant considerable wear process parameters based on output responses like wear loss (WL) and coefficient of friction (COF) value of polymer matrix composites (PMC) specimen of Acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS)/cellulose composite (80 wt% of ABS and 20 wt% of cellulose). Design/methodology/approach The fabrication of the ABS/cellulose composite sample was carried out by the simple hands-on stir process method. As per the American Society for Testing and Materials G99 standard, the sample was made by the molding process. The wear analysis was made by multi tribotester TR25 machine and validated the developed model by using statistical software design expert v.8.0 and numerical tools like analysis of variance. The surface morphology [field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM) analysis] of the sample was also observed using the Quanta FEG-250 FESEM instrument. Findings The parameters like sliding speed, sliding distance and load are independently affected the COF value and WL of the 80% of ABS matrix and 20% cellulose reinforced composite material. The regression equations were generated by the coefficient of friction value and WL, which predicted the minimum WL of 80% of ABS matrix and 20% of cellulose reinforced composite material. The worn surface analysis result exposes the worn path and equal distribution of reinforcement and matrix on the surface of composite material. Originality/value The literature survey revealed a small number of studies available regarding wear analysis of ABS matrix and cellulose reinforced composite materials. In the present work, to fabricate and evaluate the wear performance of PMC (80% of ABS and 20% of cellulose) depends on the WL and COF value. The maximum and minimum COF value (µ) of 80% of ABS and 20% of cellulose composite material is 4.71 and 0.28 with the optimized wear process parameter by 1,000 mm of sliding distance, 0.25 (m/s) of sliding speed and 9 N of load.

Nghiên cứu được thực hiện với mục tiêu xác định các điều kiện ảnh hưởng đến quá trình lên men rượu vang chùm ruột (Phyllanthus acidus (L.) Skeels) sử dụng dòng nấm men Saccharomyces cerevisiae. Phần mềm Design Expert 7.0 được sử dụng để xác định các thông số tối ưu bao gồm pH, độ Brix và MSNM. Kết quả cho thấy với pH 4,77, 24,79°Brix và MSNM ban đầu là 8,08 x 106, tế bào/mL sau 14 ngày lên men cho độ cồn cao nhất đạt 8,88 % v/v. Mười một hợp chất thực vật từ dịch trái và rượu vang chùm ruột được xác định thông qua phương pháp quang phổ bao gồm steroid, triterpenoid, phenol, tannin, flavonoid, quinone, saponin, antocyanin, glucose, carotenoid và alkaloid. Hàm lượng polyphenol tổng của rượu vang chùm ruột cao hơn dịch trái, cụ thể là 297,573 mg GAE/L và 174,549 mg GAE/L. Sau quá trình lên men, khả năng khử gốc DPPH của rượu vang chùm ruột có giá trị IC50 là 45,132 μL/mL, tăng so với dịch chùm ruột ban đầu với giá trị IC50 là 59,973 μL/mL, cho thấy rượu vang chùm ruột có khả năng kháng oxy hóa tốt hơn dịch trái chùm ruột ban đầu.

Teknologi 3D Printer DLP (Digital Light Process) adalah mesin pencetak 3 dimensi yang berbahan resin dengan system penyinaran menggunakan proyektor cahaya dengan proses pencetakan lapis demi lapis. Pada penelitian ini penulis akan membuat objek yaitu salah satu komponen permesinan yaitu casing gearbox. Dalam penelitian ini penulis akan menganalisa pengaruh parameter proses (exposre time, off time, dan interkasi keduanya) terhadap dimensi hasil cetak dan mendapatkan parameter paling optimal guna diaplikasikan ke komponen atau objek pencetakan. Dalam melakukan pengujian pengukuran dimensi penguji menggunakan alat ukur jangka sorong Krisbow KW06-422. Kemudian data hasil pengukuran diolah dengan metode Anova dengan bantuan software design expert version 10. Setelah dilakukan proses penelitian didapatkanlah hasil yaitu parameter yang paling berpengaruh adalah factor interaksi antara parameter exposure time dan parameter off time terhadap dimensi pada benda yang dicetak, dan kombinasi parameter yang paling optimal terdapat pada parameter exposure time 10 second dan off time 1 second dengan tingkat ketelitian sebesar 95%.

Abstract This study focusses on the photocatalytic degradation of caffeine (CAF) a stimulating drug and environmental contaminant that pose threat to humans and the environment. The effect of operating parameters such as; CAF initial concentration (5–20 mg/L), catalyst dosage (0.1–0.9 g/L) and pH (3.0–9.0) were explored in detail. The experimental results showed the maximum CAF and chemical oxygen demand (COD) removals of 87.2% and 66.7% respectively. The optimized parameters were; CAF initial concentration – 5 mg/L, catalyst dosage – 0.5 g/L and pH – 7.2. The photocatalytic degradation of CAF followed pseudo-first order kinetics. The obtained experimental data were analysed with response surface methodology (RSM) using Design Expert Software.
