Visual effect adalah bagian yang penting dalam pembuatan film ataupun animasi sebagai salah satu faktor pendukung dalam membangun emosi cerita. Visual effect yang baik dapat diciptakan dengan berbagai cara yang sederhana hingga cara yang rumit dengan melibatkan berbagai teknik gabungan software atau plugin dan juga menggunakan komputer dengan kemampuan tinggi. Dalam pengaplikasiannya di animasi pendek 3D tanpa dialog berjudul Little Kites Story, visual effect digunakan sebagai sarana penyampaian emosi dan memperkuat penggambaran sebuah suasana yang tenang dan damai. Visual effect yang diaplikasikan akan dibuat dengan memaksimalkan kemampuan komputer pada industri kecil atau industri rumahan. Visual Effect can be used to enhance storytelling in the filmmaking process. The Visual Effects technology itself already has grown to become faster and better in production. However, in the Visual Effects Department, the artist needs digital props to show what’s on the screen. Therefore, this study seeks to create props for Visual Effects needs. This present study describes how to create believable props for visual effects needs in a short film called “Mie Medan”. It concludes that to create a visual effect props, we have to consider to create real-scale and proportion in each set and props to gain believability in film, the hue, and saturation of the color and texture itself will gain more realistic and sense of flavor to the film.

AbstrakKarya ini sebenarnya adalah sebuah eksperimen, sebuah eksplorasi atas kemungkinan-kemungkinan penerapan motif jumputanbiru pada permukaan keramik. Proses ini bagaimana sebuah penjelajahan tanpa akhir yang hasil-hasilnya menawarkan secaravisual ruang untuk berimajinasi yang selalu penuh dengan kejutan yang dihasilkan dari ikatan, lipatan, kerutan, jelujur, danpewarnaan. Warna dan motif pada kain shibori biru dan pada keramik warna biru cobalt memiliki persamaa yang dekat dalamhal warna. Kesamaan ini dipandang sebagai representasi shibori biru yang diterapkan pada tekstil. Efek visual memunculkanspirit jumputan biru pada keramik yang tidak lagi mengacu pada pemaknaan yang ada pada kain jumputan biru.AbstractThe work I have completed is basically an experiment, an exploration of the possibilities applying blue shibori motif on ceramicsurface. This process is like a never-ending exploration of which the results visually offer space to have imaginations, alwaysfull of surprises resulting from the process of knotting, folding, wrinkling, stitching and coloring. The color and motif on blueshibori cloth and on cobalt blue ceramic have close similarity in color. This similarity is regarded as the representation of blueshibori as applied on textile. The visual effect of this process brings out the spirit of blue shibori on ceramic, which does notrefer to the meaning existing in the blue shibori cloth.

This series of photographs illustrates both the scale and the vast strangeness of California’s Prison Industrial Complex. The prisons are photographed at night from a distance so that the lights from the prison illuminate the landscape. The light that controls the prison population stands as an indicator of state control. The visual effect references the images from the test sites of nuclear bombs, an enormous display of technocratic power reflecting a truly destructive invasion into otherwise peaceful pastoral settings.

The article analyzes the evaluation of the transformation potential of valuable urbanised landscape. Many of the old towns formed as valuable urbanised landscapes. However, the transformation of urban structures of viable cities, which also entails transformation of urbanised landscapes, is inevitable. Basically, there are only two ways of transformation – either it happens in its own way or it can be professionally controlled. In this article the problem of urbanised landscape transformation is illustrated by the analytical work carried out for the eastern part of the Old Town of Vilnius (UNESCO heritage site). In the eastern part of the Old Town of Vilnius there are two architectural ensembles that form the characteristic panoramas and silhouettes of the Old Town. In this part of the city, various new built-up initiatives have been active since 2007. The article discusses the urban research, the purpose of which was to answer the question about the potential height of the newly designed built up in a former historic suburb of Vilnius. The potential impact of new buildings on the panoramas, silhouettes, dominant elements, and perspectives as well as nominal spaces of that concrete street of the historical suburb is assessed based on the analysis of the towns cape seen from typical external and internal viewing points of the Old Town. The article describes an integrated method of assessing visual effect on the urbanised landscape.

<p><strong>Abstrak</strong></p><p>Tracking and Chromakey as Visual Effect Design Technique (Study Case: Video Clip Visual Effect. Visual effect in audio visual media and animation is commonly use, especially chromakey technique or usually described as green screen or blue screen, a certain color element to acknowledge the alpha channel. In compositing technique, the using of tracking and chromakey technique are both known as visual effect technique. But on online editing works, the result seldom not at its best. This problem is usually occurred from early production process until the final process in the process of video making. The quality of final result based on early raw footage used. The objective of this research is to know the technical factors to achieve better method appliance in order to enhance the quality of final result. The study case is video clip that has short duration, more variative and has natural compositing result. The literature studies of software and user approached is the method use to analyses the problem. The result of this research is the understanding of tracking and chromakey method in video clip making process to achieve the visual effect needed. </p><p> </p><p><strong> Abstrak</strong></p><p>Tracking dan Chromakey Sebagai Elemen Teknik Desain Efek Visual (Studi Kasus: Efek Visual Video Klip). Efek visual dalam media audio visual maupun animasi sudah sangat lazim digunakan, khususnya penggunaan teknik chromakey atau yang lebih umum disebut green screen atau blue screen, yaitu penggunaan elemen warna tertentu untuk menentukan alpha channel. Dalam lingkup teknik compositing, penggunaan teknik tracking dan chromakey ini dapat digolongkan sebagai teknik efek visual. Dalam pengerjaan online editing, hasil akhir terkadang terasa kurang maksimal apabila ditinjau dari hasil kedua teknik ini. Hal ini dapat diartikan adanya permasalahan yang selalu terkait dengan pengolahan produksi awal sampai akhir dalam pengerjaan sebuah video. Kualitas hasil akhir akan ditentukan dari raw footage awal yang akan digunakan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui faktor teknis yang ada, sehingga lebih baik dalam penggunaan metode yang dilakukan serta akan meningkatkan kualitas hasil akhir. Sebagai studi kasus adalah video klip dengan mempertimbangkan durasi yang tidak lama, lebih variatif dan mengarah dalam pendekatan hasil compositing yang natural. Selain itu metode studi literatur tentang perangkat lunak juga dilakukan, sehingga pendekatan metode dan pola pikir pengguna perangkat lunak lebih memahami dalam melakukan kedua proses ini. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah pemahaman terhadap metode tracking dan chromakey dalam pembuatan video klip untuk menghasilkan efek visual yang dibutuhkan.
