Abstract Indonesia ranks second with the highest cases (TB) in the world. Therefore, a strategy is needed in TB case finding. This study aims to examine the effect of health education with audio-visual media on cadres' knowledge to find TB cases. The design of this study was a pre-experimental design with a One group pre-post test design. A total of 10 cadres were selected as respondents using the purposive sampling technique. The research instrument used a questionnaire in the form of a google form. The results showed that 70% of cadres were aged 41 -50 years. The majority had high school education (60%), while most TB cadres had been between 1 year and two years (80%). The analysis results showed that the score of cadres before being given health education and after being given education experienced a significant increase. The mean score of the pre-test results was 69.30 and increased to 76.00. The results showed a considerable difference in Cadre knowledge before and after health education (P-value = 0.007). Thus scores can consider a significant difference between pre-test and post-test scores. It can be regarded as Audio Visual to increase cadres' knowledge in TB case finding.

This article argues that new religious movements (NRMs) develop as cultural interlocutors. As emergent social bodies that respond to extant norms, structures, and values, NRMs can deploy cultural products as a shared vocabulary and grammar in their response to surrounding society. To demonstrate this approach’s ability to parse NRMs’ relations to popular culture while highlighting organizationally distinctive dimensions of such interactions, this article examines Jim Jones’s references to visual media shown in Jonestown in 1978. Jones critiqued movies and television as tools of social control, repurposed documentaries and films as evidence to support his proffered doctrine, and creatively presented movies as analogues of the commune’s perceived challenges. This threefold hermeneutic shaped the Peoples Temple’s beliefs and behavior, as well as its own media productions.

Abstract Given the evolving multimodal features in educational settings, modes other than language further enable the diversity in the realization of meanings and pedagogic goals. This paper explores modality in multimodal pedagogic materials for teaching English as a foreign language in China. Drawing upon the social semiotic approach to modality in visual media, this study provides a comparative analysis of modality markers in different elemental genres that constitute the macrogenre of a teaching unit, with a focus on explaining the underlying reasons for the different choices in terms of coding orientation. It is shown that different degrees of deviation from the accepted coding orientation are employed in different constituent genres of the macrogenre of a given text.

Abstract Increased access to visual archives and the proliferation of digitized images related to sexuality have led a growing number of scholars in recent years to place images and visual practices at the center of critical historical inquiries of sexual desire, subjectivity, and embodiment. At the same time, new critical histories of sexual science serve both to expand the temporal and geographical frames for investigating the historical relationships of sex and visual production, and to generate new lines of inquiry and reshape visual studies more broadly. The contributors to this issue invite us to ask: What new questions and challenges for the study of sex and sexual science are posed by critical studies of the visual? How are new visual methodologies that focus on archives changing the contours of historical knowledge about sex and sexuality? What—and where—are new methodologies still needed? “Visual Archives of Sex” aims to illuminate current research that centers visual media in the history of sexuality and that interrogates contemporary historiographies.

The purpose of this research are to develop macromedia flash-based mathematics learning media for cartesian coordinate material for class VIII SMPN 19 Mataram. Macromedia flash-based learning media is an audio-visual media presented in the form of software consisting of basic competencies, learning objectives, materials and quizzes. This development aims to overcome the weaknesses in the learning process that have occurred due to the lack of use of media in classroom, besides that it can also assist students in learning the concept of cartesian coordinates, especially in visualizing the objects in the material. The research methodology used in developing this learning media is 4D (Define, Design, Developement, Dissemination). Data collection techniques using interview guidelines and questionnaires. The result of this research is a software product of learning media for cartesian coordinates based on macromedia flash in the CD form. The product has been declared valid with good criteria by 4 validators. Based on the limited trial, it is known that the response of class VIII students of SMPN 19 Mataram that use the macromedia flash-based learning media cartesian coordinate is good.
