BACKGROUND Mobile Health (mHealth) tools have emerged as a promising healthcare technology that may contribute to cost savings, better access to care, and enhanced clinical outcomes; however, it is important to ensure their acceptance and adoption in order to harness this potential. Patient adoption has been recognized as key challenges that require further exploration. OBJECTIVE The aim of this review was to systematically investigate the literature to understand the factors impacting patients’ adoption of mHealth tools, by considering socio-technical factors (from technical, social and health perspectives). METHODS A structured search was completed following the participants, intervention, comparators, and outcomes (PICO framework. MEDLINE PubMed, the Cochrane Library, and SAGE database were searched for the studies published between January 2011 and July 2021 in the English language, yielding 5873 results, of which 147 studies met the inclusion criteria. The Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis guidelines (PRISMA) and the Cochrane handbook were followed to ensure a systematic process. RESULTS The technical factors impacting patients’ adoption of mHealth tools were categorized into 6 key themes: usefulness, ease of use, data related, monetary factors, technical issues, and user experience; which were divided into 20 sub-themes. Health related factors were categorized into 6 key themes: the disease or health condition, the care team’s role, health consciousness and literacy, health behavior, relation to other therapies, integration into patient journey, and the patients’ insurance status. Social and personal factors were split into 3 key clusters: moderating factors, personal characteristics, and social and cultural aspects; these were divided into 19 subthemes, highlighting the importance of considering these factors when addressing potential barriers to mHealth adoption and how to overcome them. CONCLUSIONS This review builds on the growing body of research that investigates patients’ adoption of mHealth services, and highlights the complexity of the factors impacting adoption, including personal, social, technical, organizational and healthcare aspects. We recommend a more patient-centered approach, by ensuring the tools’ fit into the overall patient journey and treatment plan, emphasizing inclusive design, warranting comprehensive patient education and support, empowering and mobilizing clinicians and care teams, addressing ethical data management issues, and focusing on healthcare policies that may facilitate adoption. Despite increasing technological dynamism and plausibility in many environments, poor services continue to be rendered because the IT solutions that are selected, deployed and used by the Nigerian banks are challenged by both technical and non-technical factors. The challenges could be attributed to lack of evaluation, causing ineffectiveness, inefficiency, and inconsistency in the processes, interactions and activities where IT solutions are applied. Thus, the study’s objectives is to identify, examine and gain an understanding of the factors that influence the selection, deployment and evaluation of the IT solutions that are used by the Nigerian banks. The interpretivist approach and qualitive method were followed. Following the interpretivist paradigm, the analysis was conducted using the hermeneutics approach. Based on the findings and interpretation, a model was developed, intended for actors that have stake in IT solutions in the two banks, to gain better understanding of the factors that can influence evaluation.

Mechanical ventilators are increasingly evolving into computer-driven devices. These technical advancements have impact on clinical decisions in pediatric intensive care units (PICUs). A good understanding of the design of mechanical ventilators can improve clinical care. Tidal volume (TV) is one of the corner stones of ventilation: multiple technical factors influence the TV and, thus, influence clinical decision making. Ventilator manufacturers make various design choices regarding the phase, site and conditions of TV measurement as well as algorithmic processing choices. Such choice may impact the measurement and subsequent display of TV. A software change of the TV measuring algorithm of the SERVO-i® (Getinge, Solna, Sweden) at the PICU of the University Medical Centre Utrecht was studied in a prospective cohort. It showed, as example, a clinically significant impact of 8% difference in reported TV. Design choices in both the hardware and software of mechanical ventilators can have a clinically relevant impact on the measurement of tidal volume. In our search for the optimal TV for lung-protective ventilation, such choices should be taken into account.

COVID-19 and the fourth industrial revolution have rapidly changed our society into an overall contactless one. As smartphones become more popularized, donation methods are shifting to online activities that are beyond the traditional methods. In such a contactless society, mobile payment services are emerging as an innovative payment method. However, donation consolidation and persistence are lacking in online donation marketing and other online situations. This study empirically examines the effects of personal factors (unselfishness, self-esteem, and social norms) and technical factors (perceived usefulness, ease of use, and perceived behavioral control) on donation trust, attitude, and satisfaction if donations were made through a simple mobile payment system. To this end, an online questionnaire survey was carried out on donors using the Korean Red Cross’ simple mobile payment service. By collecting 250 data samples, this study verified hypotheses. As a result of the analysis, social norms under the personal factors were significant, but unselfishness and self-esteem did not affect donors. The perceived usefulness and ease of use, which are technical factors, positively affected trust in donation, but the perceived behavioral control was not significant. Consequently, intrinsic behavioral influence factors such as personal unselfishness, self-esteem, or behavioral control did not significantly affect donation behavior, in contrast with traditional donation methods.

The liability of coal to spontaneous combustion is the principal cause of mine fires. Spontaneouscombustion is one of the main threats in Polish and Vietnamese coal mines. The article presents an analysisof the spontaneous combustion of coal in mines of both countries. It is related to the natural prone of coalto spontaneous heating and consequently to its self-ignition. Despite the relevant recognition of themethods of preventing this threat, in mines, spontaneous combustion occurs during the exploitation ofcoal seams with low and very high self-ignition tendency. Apart from the technical factors related to thedesign of coal seam mining, the properties of coal have a significant impact on the occurrence ofspontaneous combustion. Their correct recognition is essential to the precautions against spontaneouscombustion for minimalizing the risk of a mine fire. Therefore, it is necessary to study the factorsinfluencing the propensity of coal to spontaneous heating. A review of the methods used to determine thepropensity of coal to spontaneous combustion is presented in the article. Based on the high-temperaturemethod of determining the propensity of coals to spontaneous combustion, the influence of selectedfactors related to samples' preparation for testing on the determination result was investigated. Theinfluence of the fractional decomposition and the moisture content in the prepared samples on thedetermination result was demonstrated. The presented research results may improve research proceduresfor determining the propensity of coal to spontaneous combustion.

Purpose: Maldeployment of the Supera stent system can result in primary technical failure, inferior primary patency, and poorer patient outcomes. The purpose of this article is to present a case series illustrating the conditions required to perform optimal stent deployment, and if necessary, undertake successful stent removal following maldeployment. Technique: Two key failures of effective Supera deployment are elongation and invagination. Several technical factors should be considered to reduce the risk of maldeployment: aggressive target vessel predilation, the use of multiple fluoroscopic views, slow deployment with controlled forward pressure applied on the delivery device, “sandwich packing” of the stent above and below target lesions, and the “pulling back” of invagination. To successfully retrieve a partially deployed stent, 3 factors should be considered: the percentage of the stent already deployed, the distance from the distal tip of the introducing sheath to the proximal extent of the deployed stent, and the severity of proximal vessel disease. The higher these factors, the greater the risk of stent detachment and failed retrieval. Conclusion: In this series of 6 cases of maldeployment, the removal of a partially deployed Supera stent appeared to be feasible and safe, with success dependent on selected technical and anatomical considerations.

AbstractSingle-cell CRISPR screens are a promising biotechnology for mapping regulatory elements to target genes at genome-wide scale. However, technical factors like sequencing depth impact not only expression measurement but also perturbation detection, creating a confounding effect. We demonstrate on two single-cell CRISPR screens how these challenges cause calibration issues. We propose SCEPTRE: analysis of single-cell perturbation screens via conditional resampling, which infers associations between perturbations and expression by resampling the former according to a working model for perturbation detection probability in each cell. SCEPTRE demonstrates very good calibration and sensitivity on CRISPR screen data, yielding hundreds of new regulatory relationships supported by orthogonal biological evidence.

This research analysed human–robot cooperation and interaction in the basement of a Danish hospital, where kitchen staff and porters conducted their daily routines in an environment shared with mobile service robots. The robots were installed to ease the everyday routines of kitchen staff and carry out physically demanding tasks, such as transporting heavy cargo between destinations in the hospital basement. The cooperation and interaction were studied through ethnographic inspired fieldwork and the results highlighted how robots affect the real-life environments into which they are gradually moving. The analysis revealed how the great human expectations of robots clashed with reality and identified three key elements that influence human–robot cooperation in hospitals: 1) environmental factors, 2) behavioural factors and 3) factors related to human reliance on robots. We emphasise the importance of considering socio-technical factors when deploying robots to cooperate with humans in hospital environments.

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan menentukan peningkatan harga produksi ikan laut menjadi nugget olahan sehingga mendapatkan harga yang lebih baik. Kajian dilakukan di kawasan pesisir Pantai Sine, Desa Kalibatur, Kecamatan Kalidawir, Kabupaten Tulungagung. Teknik penelitian menggunakan teknik survei, responden diperoleh dari penggunaan metode purposive sampling bagi para pelaku nelayan pengolahan hasil perikanan. Penambahan biaya olahan yang merupakan hasil akhir dari olahan ikan di Pantai Sine untuk dijadikan nugget agar lebih tahan lama dan menampilkan biaya promosi yang lebih besar. Penghasilan yang diperoleh disesuaikan dari usaha pengolahan hasil perikanan yang terkait dengan unsur teknis dan unsur non teknis. Secara teknis, tingkat ekonomi, jumlah bahan mentah dan jumlah tenaga yang digunakan akan berpengaruh pada jumlah biaya yang dibawa. Sedangkan faktor non teknis yang berpengaruh terhadap besaran pungutan yang dibawa adalah harga masuk dan harga keluaran, dalam hal ini pungutan hasil olahan perikanan.Kata kunci: ikan, nugget, biaya produksi     ABSTRACT This study has the aim of determining the increase in the price of marine fish production into processed nuggets so that they get a better price. The study was conducted in the coastal area of ​​Sine Beach, Kalibatur Village, Kalidawir District, Tulungagung Regency. The research technique used survey techniques, respondents were obtained from the use of purposive sampling method for fisherman processing fishery products. The addition of processed costs which are the end result of processed fish at Sine Beach to be used as nuggets to make them more durable and display higher promotional costs. The compensation received is adjusted from the business of processing fishery products related to technical elements and non-technical elements. Technically, the level of economy, the amount of raw materials and the amount of labor used will affect the amount of costs carried.
