AbstractWe investigate genericity of various controllability and stabilizability concepts of linear, time-invariant differential-algebraic systems. Based on well-known algebraic characterizations of these concepts (see the survey article by Berger and Reis (in: Ilchmann A, Reis T (eds) Surveys in differential-algebraic equations I, Differential-Algebraic Equations Forum, Springer, Berlin, pp 1–61. 10.1007/978-3-642-34928-7_1)), we use tools from algebraic geometry to characterize genericity of controllability and stabilizability in terms of matrix formats.

This survey article deals with a delta potential—also known as a point scatterer—on flat two- and three-dimensional tori. We introduce the main conjectures regarding the spectral and wave function statistics of this model in the so-called weak and strong coupling regimes. We report on recent progress as well as a number of open problems in this field.

A recent survey article by J. Fournier and J. Stewart (Bull.AMS 13 (1985), 1-21) explains how amalgams of Lp with lq (as function spaces over any locally compact abelian group G) can be used as an effective tool for the treatment of various problems in harmonic analysis. The present article may be seen as a complement to this survey, indicating further advantages that arise if one works with generalized amalgams (introduced in 1980 under the name of Wiener-type spaces by the author [10]). The main difference between amalgams and these more general spaces is the fact that they allow a more precise description of the local behavior of functions (or distributions) by rather arbitrary norms and that the conditions on the global behavior (of the quantity obtained using that chosen local norm) is described in a way that includes both growth and integrability conditions (not only lq-summability).

This paper is a survey article on queueing models with standbys support. Due to many real life applications of queueing models, it has become an interesting area for researchers and a lot of research work has been exerted so far. It is worthwhile to examine the performance based analysis for queueing modelling system as it provides a valuable insight to the tractability of the system and accelerates its efficiency. The provision of standbys to the queueing modelling of a real system is needed for smooth functioning in the presence of its unavoidable failures. The present survey provides a dig into the research work done, and emphasis the sequential developments on queueing models with standbys support.

In \cite{A.Boudaoud1}, the author asked the following question: Which $n\in \mathbb{N}$ unlimited can be represented as a sum $% n=s+w_{1}w_{2}$, where $s\in \mathbb{Z}$ is a limited integer and $\omega _{1}$, $\omega _{2}$ are two unlimited positive integers? In this survey article we partially answer this question, i.e., we present some families of unlimited positive integers which can be written as the sum of a limited integer and the product of at least two unlimited positive integers.
