This article is devoted to geometrical aspects of conformal mappings of complete Riemannian and Kählerian manifolds and uses the Bochner technique, one of the oldest and most important techniques in modern differential geometry. A feature of this article is that the results presented here are easily obtained using a generalized version of the Bochner technique due to theorems on the connection between the geometry of a complete Riemannian manifold and the global behavior of its subharmonic, superharmonic, and convex functions.

This paper studies the global dynamics of a cholera model incorporating age structures and general infection rates. First, we explore the existence and point dissipativeness of the orbit and analyze the asymptotical smoothness. Then, we perform rigorous mathematical analysis on the existence and local stability of equilibria. Based on the uniform persistence, we further investigate the global behavior of the cholera infection model. The results of theoretical analysis are well confirmed by numerical simulations. This research generalizes some known results and provides deeper insights into the dynamics of cholera propagation.

Although experimental studies have proven as the most effective method, its high cost has provoked researchers to seek alternative approaches. The increase in computational power in the 21st century provides the opportunity to numerically model experimental studies with various programs. This study examines the comparison of force-based element and displacement-based element in columns using nonlinear fiber elements. Within the scope of the study, OpenSees program is employed for columns selected from the PEER (Structural Performance Database) site. The aim is to compare the employment of the FB element and DB elements in RC columns in terms of number of elements and integration points, to simulate the global behavior of the columns numerically, and to optimize the parameters that affect the results.

The spatial and temporal behavior of the occurrence of forest fires in Chile was evaluated in the presence of COVID-19 and mobility restrictions. The fire period from 2015–2016 to 2020–2021 was considered and statistics on mobility restrictions were granted by the Government of Chile. The analysis was developed at different scales of geographic perception. At the national and regional levels, the global behavior of the occurrence was determined, and later at the communal level, the political territorial unit, to determine internal variations attributable to the mobility dynamics in the quarantine period. In the process, the meteorological background of the fire activity was also considered. The results indicate that it is possible to rule out a meteorological effect, based on the variation of the moisture content of fine fuel. There was also no statistical association between the humidity of the fuel and the variation in the occurrence of fires. It is concluded that the communes that presented the greatest mobility of people before the pandemic were those that obtained the greatest reduction in fires. The variation in mobility, the product of restriction measures, is a statistical predictor of the increase or decrease in fires.
