This study aims to explore the use of video in English language teaching (ELT) elementary school (grades 8 to 9)... In addition, the thesis aims to find out how videos in English lessons helped to achieve the goals of English curriculum. The main hypothesis was that teaching with video would develop pupils’ communicative skills and, therefore, was appropriate for the communicative approach to ELT. The study addressed five research questions regarding the use of videos in English lessons in the case study school: why the teachers used videos in ELT, what kinds of videos were used in English lessons, how and how often videos were used, what was taught and learned through the use of videos and, finally, what the teachers’ and pupils’ attitudes to lessons with videos were. The research was performed as a case study at an Elbasan elementary school. The data for the research was obtained through the use of mixed methods: qualitative, in the form of interviews with four English teachers and observations of three of the interviewed teachers’ lessons with videos, and quantitative, in the form of a pupil questionnaire answered by 105 pupils from two 8th grade and two 9th grade classes.

This chapter provides an overview of interactive remote clickers and how they can be used in an elementary school classroom as a tool for formative assessment in mathematics. The authors share the perspective of a university professor, two teachers, and an elementary school student about the benefits of these types of devices in mathematics classrooms. To this end, they present two vignettes from two fourth grade classrooms and findings from an exploratory study that examined the influence of clickers on teaching and learning in classrooms. Implications and recommendations for using these devices in elementary mathematics classrooms are also provided.

Strengthening character education in schools is a government policy as an effort to re-put character as the core of education. The process of teaching and learning activities is currently carried out online and face-to-face while still prioritizing health protocols due to the pandemic. So, currently schools are required to continue to innovate in order to maximize the character education process in schools. The purpose of this study is to describe the strengthening of character education through school culture, the obstacles and efforts made during the pandemic. This research uses descriptive qualitative research. Data collection techniques using observation, interviews, and documentation. The research location was conducted at Alam Al-Karim Elementary School, Lampung. The research subjects are the Principal, Deputy Principal and Teachers. Based on the results of the research, strengthening character education through school culture is carried out in the form of habituation activities namely, Morning Activity, Daily Worship, Murajaah Qur'an, and Green Therapy as a means of socializing character values ​​and awareness to maintain health and mentally facing a pandemic. The obstacles are the limited time available and limited physical communication. The effort made by the school is through making a special curriculum in the new normal era. The conclusion of this research is that strengthening character education through school culture in the middle of a pandemic carried out by the Alam Al-Karim Elementary School is an alternative concept that can be applied in order to make character education effective as an important goal in education.

Reading is an important competency to be developed for children in the first years of elementary school. Reading becomes a mechanism that allows the children to interact with the world and identify their characteristics. Dyslexia is one learning disability frequently manifested in elementary school, and to identify it, teachers require extra educative resources, in particular educational applications. This work proposes a process model to design and develop educational applications considering the learning needs of children with dyslexia. It involves a user-centered approach because different perceptions of several actors are considered. The performance of the proposed model is explored in a case study and an evaluation, taking into account usability and accessibility factors.

Background: Vegetable consumption of Indonesian population, especially children still not in accordance with government recommendations are 4-5 servings a day. Elementary school student is a very decisive period of good growth and development. A balanced nutritious food intake is essential to ensure healthy and active child growth. If eating habits by applying healthy and balanced nutritious food early given, then the habit will affect until growing up later. Nutrition education efforts in schools have a great opportunity to successfully improve the knowledge about nutrition among    the community because the school students are expected to be a bridge for teachers with their parents, teachers as educators in teaching and learning process have an influence on their students. The right media will increase enthusiasm self-study according to the environment and enable students to learn by themselves according to their interests and abilities. Objective: This research are Quasi experiment (experiment) is doing experimental activities, which aims to determine the effects that arise, as a result of a particular treatment Method:. Research design is “pre test and post test with contol group design”. The subjects of the study were 30 student of elementary school from SDN Godean 1 as a counseling group and 30 students from SDN Godean 2 as a group of vegetable cards. Result: The results concluded that there was no difference in the level of knowledge of the sample on vegetables before treatment was given. There is an increase in students’ knowledge of vegetables after being given treatment with lectures and media of vegetable cards. Conclusion: Couseling about vegetables using vegetable card media was more effective than treatment with lecture method toward improvement of elementary school student knowledge.   Keywords: Counseling, vegetables, cards, elementary school student
