A multi-junction photovoltaic cell based on group II-VI Cadmium Selenide (CdSe) and Cadmium Telluride (CdTe) with a single layer anti-reflective coating of Silicon Di Oxide (SiO2) has been introduced. In this paper we have performed a comparison of solar energy absorption of CdSe/CdTe cell with existing single and multi-junction cells. The cell has shown significant photon absorption in the spectral range of 300nm-2000nm with an efficiency of 34.6% under terrestrial AM1.5, 1 sun condition.

The project Expo Axis is one of the landmark buildings of Expo Shanghai 2010, and its structural safety depends largely on the security of the six Sun Valleys, which are the important components of the Expo Axis. The simulation of the whole process of collapse and collision of the sun valley under earthquake action is conducted in this article. In the calculation multiple nonlinear factors are taken into account, such as material nonlinearity, large displacement effect, self-contact collision among the structure members, contact collision between the structure and the ground, etc. Through analyzing the results, a reasonable assessment of the structure of Sun Valley’s performance under the supper-large earthquake is given out. This method can also offer reference to other similar large-span steel single-layer lattice structure’s performance analysis.

The Spiral Coil pump is a non-conventional water pump which can be powered by wind energy or flow energy of river water. It can also be hand driven. It is very useful especially in rural areas for farming and irrigation purposes. Spiral Coil pump comes under the category of a low to moderate lift pump. In the present study, the hand operated experimental setup is designed and constructed to analyze the performance of the spiral coil pump under different parameters. The parameters considered are submerged ratios, rotational speed, layers of coils. For setup of 0.8 m wheel diameter with 7 number of coils, the maximum head obtained is in between 4.3 m to 5 m with maximum discharge 1200 lit/hr for single layer and 2280 lit/hr for double layer of the coil with efficiency range 20% to 74%.

Security is the most concerned topic in this today’s world of Information and Communication Technology. Single layer security can be breached easily so hybrid cryptographic system has been introduced. Hybrid system can be made by combining two or more algorithms of similar or dissimilar types. Here, combing of Blowfish algorithm along with RSA algorithm is performed. After combination their performance analysis is done based on five parameters namely Throughput, Encryption time, Decryption time, Total Execution time and Plain text size to cipher text size ratio with different key size of Blowfish algorithm ranging from 32 bit-448 bit. Among these 5 different hybrid cryptosystem we found that the Blowfish RSA system with key size 448 bit has better performance than all other bit size.
