ABSTRACT Four complete genome sequences of genetically distinct Paenibacillus larvae strains have been determined. Pacific BioSciences single-molecule real-time (SMRT) sequencing technology was used as the sole method of sequence determination and assembly. The chromosomes exhibited a G+C content of 44.1 to 44.2% and a molecular size range of 4.29 to 4.67 Mbp.

Pandoraea pnomenusa strain TF-18 was isolated from the roots of rice seedlings on selective medium containing four classes of antibiotics for isolation of Burkholderia pseudomallei. Using Pacific Biosciences (PacBio) single-molecule real-time (SMRT) sequencing technology, we report here a complete genome of 5,499,432 bases, a GC content of 64.8%, and 4,849 coding sequences.

ABSTRACT Two Pseudomonas aeruginosa strains isolated from children with bacteremia in Mexico City were sequenced using PacBio RS-II single-molecule real-time (SMRT) technology. The strains consist of a 7.0- to 7.4-Mb chromosome, with a high content of mobile elements, and variation in the genetic content of class 1 integron In1409.

The genome of halophilic archaeon Haloarcula sinaiiensis ATCC 33800 was sequenced and assembled and comprises seven replicons. Four m6A and one m4C modified motifs and their responsible methyltransferase genes have been identified in the genome by single-molecule real-time (SMRT) sequencing and bioinformatic analysis.

We report a complete genome sequence of Acidithiobacillus ferridurans JAGS, determined using PacBio single-molecule real-time (SMRT) sequencing. The circular genome of JAGS (2,933,811 bp; GC content, 58.57%) contains 3,001 protein-coding sequences, 46 tRNAs, and 6 rRNAs. Predicted genes indicate the potential to fix CO2 and N2 and to utilize Fe2+, S0, and H2 as energy sources.

ABSTRACT Bartonella alsatica causes bacteremia in rabbits and, rarely, human infections. Here, we announce the complete and closed genome of B. alsatica IBS 382 (CIP 105477), generated by long-read Pacific Biosciences single-molecule real-time (SMRT) sequencing. The availability of this genome sequence allows future work on understanding the zoonotic potential of this pathogen.

ABSTRACT Brochothrix thermosphacta is an important meat spoilage bacterium. Here we report the genome sequences of two strains of B. thermosphacta isolated from ground chicken. The genome sequences were determined using long-read PacBio single-molecule real-time (SMRT) technology and are the first complete genome sequences reported for B. thermosphacta.
