Acinetobacter baumannii is a Gram-negative opportunistic pathogen that is frequently associated with nosocomial infections. Bacteriophages infecting A. baumannii can be used as effective agents to control these infections. Here, we announce the complete genome sequence of the lytic bacteriophage LZ35 infecting A. baumannii isolates.

Klebsiella pneumoniae is a Gram-negative opportunistic pathogen and a leading cause of antibiotic-resistant nosocomial infections. The genome sequence of siphophage Skenny, which infects K. pneumoniae, is described here. Skenny encodes 78 genes and is closely related to Klebsiella phages KPN N141 and MezzoGao, which are T1-like phages.

Klebsiella pneumoniae is a Gram-negative bacterium that is a major cause of nosocomial infections worldwide. Here, we present the complete genome sequence of TK421, a clinical bacteremia isolate containing a hypervirulence plasmid carrying tra-associated conjugation machinery genes. Emergence of conjugative hypervirulence plasmids could portend rapid dissemination of hypervirulence among multidrug-resistant K. pneumoniae strains.

Klebsiella pneumoniaeis a Gram-negative pathogen frequently associated with antibiotic-resistant nosocomial infections. Bacteriophage therapy againstK. pneumoniaemay be possible to combat these infections. The following describes the complete genome sequence and key features of the pseudo-T-evenK. pneumoniaecarbapenemase (KPC)-producingK. pneumoniaemyophage Miro.

Vibrio alginolyticus is a ubiquitous Gram-negative bacterium which is normally distributed in the coastal and estuarine environments. It has been suggested to be an opportunistic pathogen to both marine animals and humans, Here, the completed genome sequence of V. alginolyticus ZJ-T was determined by Illumina high-throughput sequencing.

As an opportunistic pathogen, Citrobacter freundii is involved in a wide spectrum of nosocomial infections. C. freundii phages may prove useful as therapeutics for treating infections caused by multidrug-resistant C. freundii strains. Here, we report the complete genome sequence of C. freundii siphophage Sazh, which is closely related to Enterobacteria phages T1 and TLS.

Phab24 was isolated from river water in Zhejiang Province, China, and exhibits lytic activity against clinical isolates of the nosocomial pathogen Acinetobacter baumannii (X. Wang, B. Loh, Y. Yu, X. Hua, S. Leptihn, bioRxiv, 2021, https://doi.org/10.1101/2021.07.23.453473 ). The bacteriophage belongs to the Myoviridae family and has a double-stranded DNA (dsDNA) genome sequence that is 93,604 bp long, containing 172 open reading frames (ORFs).

Serratia marcescens is a ubiquitous Gram-negative opportunistic pathogen. This announcement describes the isolation and genome annotation of S. marcescens T5-like siphophage Slocum. Terminal repeats, 170 protein-coding genes, and 23 tRNAs were predicted in the 112,436-bp Slocum genome.
