Phab24 was isolated from river water in Zhejiang Province, China, and exhibits lytic activity against clinical isolates of the nosocomial pathogen Acinetobacter baumannii (X. Wang, B. Loh, Y. Yu, X. Hua, S. Leptihn, bioRxiv, 2021, https://doi.org/10.1101/2021.07.23.453473 ). The bacteriophage belongs to the Myoviridae family and has a double-stranded DNA (dsDNA) genome sequence that is 93,604 bp long, containing 172 open reading frames (ORFs).

ABSTRACT Acinetobacter myovirus BS46 was isolated from sewage by J. S. Soothill in 1991. We have sequenced the genome of BS46 and found it to be almost unique. BS46 contains double-stranded DNA with a genome size of 94,068 bp and 176 predicted open reading frames. The gene encoding the tailspike that presumably possesses depolymerase activity toward the capsular polysaccharides of the bacterial host was identified.

ABSTRACT Bos taurus papillomaviruses infect cattle, which has both animal health and economic consequences. This is the first report and sequence of Bos taurus papillomavirus type 1 isolated from warts in cattle in Morocco. The double-stranded DNA (dsDNA) genome was 7,945 bp in size, and eight open reading frames were identified.

Klebsiella pneumoniae is a Gram-negative bacterium that is a major cause of nosocomial infections worldwide. Here, we present the complete genome sequence of TK421, a clinical bacteremia isolate containing a hypervirulence plasmid carrying tra-associated conjugation machinery genes. Emergence of conjugative hypervirulence plasmids could portend rapid dissemination of hypervirulence among multidrug-resistant K. pneumoniae strains.

May is a newly isolated myophage that infects multidrug-resistant strains of Klebsiella pneumoniae, a pathogen that is associated with antibiotic-resistant infections in humans. The genome of May has been shown to be similar to that of phage Vi01.

ABSTRACT We report here the full-length genome sequence of a rhabdovirus strain detected in a pool of 21 Culex pipiens and Culex torrentium mosquitos collected in southern Switzerland. The genome has a length of 11,914 nucleotides and encodes five major putative open reading frames.

The phytopathogenic bacterium Xanthomonas vesicatoria is the causative agent of bacterial spot disease in various Solanaceae family members. Here, we describe the complete genome sequence of XaF13, a novel filamentous phage that infects the phytopathogenic bacterium X. vesicatoria. The 7,045-bp genome is predicted to encode 14 open reading frames, 7 of which are related to those of other filamentous Xanthomonas phages.
