The quality of hydro-expanded double-layered tubes depends on the hydro-expanding pressure. Therefore, it is very important to determine the range of the hydro-expanding pressure accurately during the fabrication of double-layer tubes. According to theories of elasticity and plasticity, the responses of double-layered tubes subjected to five kinds of cases were analyzed during the hydro-expanding process. And the stress and strain for inner and outer tubes of double-layered tubes were discussed. By using the relation of deformed compatibility of hoop strain, suitable condition of hydraulic expansion and variable range of hydro-expanding pressure were obtained, and the calculating formulas between the hydro-expanding pressure and residual contact pressure was derived. Use the non-linear FEA MSC.patran/marc code to simulate the deformation and stress distribution, the whole process of hydraulic expansion was numerically investigated, in which the nonlinearities of the material, geometry and contact were all taken into account. The results show that the range of the hydro-expanding pressure from the numerical simulation is in good agreement with those from theoretical calculation with a maximum relative error of 6.52%. The investigation on the hydraulic expansion of double-layered tubes may guide the engineering design and provide references for further research.

Welding process of automobile panels is a key process in the manufacturing of automobile body and its quality directly impact on the appearance and quality of automobile. The causes of dimensional deviation of welded assembly could be workpieces variation, assembly tooling variation, and welding distortion. As a major source of assembly deviation, dimensional variations of workpieces have important effects on the assembly quality of automobile body. In this paper, pre-stressing was used to reflect the workpieces’ variation and the node coupling method was used in the numerical simulation to predict the deformation of assembly caused by the welding process of automobile panels. And further the computation results were listed and compared with the measured ones.

Abstract The quality of polarimetric radar data degrades as the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) decreases. This substantially limits the usage of collected polarimetric radar data to high SNR regions. To improve data quality at low SNRs, multilag correlation estimators are introduced. The performance of the multilag estimators for spectral moments and polarimetric parameters is examined through a theoretical analysis and by the use of simulated data. The biases and standard deviations of the estimates are calculated and compared with those estimates obtained using the conventional method.

This paper presents practical experience in constructing stereo presentations of texts and formulas on an autostereoscopic monitor in stereo presentations designed to display the results of numerical simulation. The task of constructing stereo images of texts and formulas is a structural subtask of a general study devoted to the development of methods and algorithms for constructing stereo presentations of the results of scientific research. This paper discusses the construction of stereoscopic images on an autostereoscopic monitor. The autostereoscopic monitor allows one to observe a stereo image without glasses, while ensuring the quality of the stereo image, which is not inferior to the quality of the stereo image, presented using a classic 3D projection stereo system. Various methods of obtaining stereo images supported by the monitor were tested, namely, the multi-view presentation of the object and the construction of depth maps. The results for both methods are presented.
