The new technology of superalloy vacuum-electromagnetic casting was developed and the feeding mathematical model melt in vacuum-electromagnetic casting was established. The availability of mathematical model was approved by the experiments of the IN100 superalloy. The experimental results indicate that the feeding capacity of melt in vacuum casting can be greatly increased by imposing the 50Hz, 60A rotating electromagnetic stirring, which can decrease the central shrinkage cavity in superalloy ingots, so the quality of the superalloy ingots can be wide-range improved.

Environmental rubber concrete is a new building material, which can improve the construction quality of road drainage tube in road engineering and achieve effect of keeping warm and radial anti deformation. In order to study the physical properties of environmental rubber concrete, we use methods of experiment and numerical simulation to test mechanical parameters and effect of thermal insulation of concrete. Through the experiment we obtain the relation between ultimate bearing capacity and temperature. We use the software of ANSYS to secondary development on c numerical calculation, and establish a mathematical model of road drainage tube. Through the numerical simulation we get the temperature distribution and the radial strain nephogram of environmental rubber concrete. It provides a new method to study new materials in road engineering.

The STAR-CCM+ technology is also used to analyze the location and number of vents in hull coating plant in the case of constant air volume. By means of numerical simulation and mathematical model theory, this paper makes a comparison of air distribution in the working area of this plant, and found the interior velocity and temperature field vary with different location and number of vents. Specifically speaking, the lower position and improper number of vents can lead to unevenness of the internal thermal environment and imbalance of wind speed in the working area. This study provides simulated basis and technical references for the better coating operations in suitable environment, which is significant for putting forward the improvement, optimizing the quality of the coating operation and saving energy.

Numerical method to simulate the effect of air bubblers on glass melt flow and heat transfer in glass tank furnace is presented in this paper. The numerical simulation is preformed by using Gambit and Fluent software. Results of numerical simulation for glass melt flow and heat transfer with and without air bubbling technology are compared. The roles of stirring air bubblers installed in different locations played are discussed. The results show that mathematical model established in this paper can better simulate the glass melt circulation and heat transfer in glass tank furance, and air bubbler has a significant effect on glass melt circulation and heat transfer, and the best installation locations should be chosen by calculating in order to make full use of the air bubblers. Air bubbling technology will improve the quality of glass obviously if it is used properly. The results obtained can provide reference for engineering design of glass tank furnaces.

Water is a fundamental necessity of life. Yet water supply and distribution networks the world over are old and lacking in adequate maintenance. Consequently they often leak as much water as they deliver and provide an unacceptable quality of service to the customer. In certain parts of the world, water is available only for a few hours of the day. The solution is to build a mathematical model to simulate the operation of the real network in all of its key elements and apply it to optimise its operation. To be of value, the results of the model must be compared with field data. This process is known as calibration and is an essential element in the construction of an accurate model. This paper outlines the optimum approach to building and calibrating a mathematical model and how it can be applied to automatic calibration systems.

A considerable number of research works have been carried out to study the effects of electric current and frequency of Electromagnetic Stirring (EMS) on the quality of cast steels, but there are only a few studies available addressing the effects of EMS location on inclusion removal and steel cleanliness An ideal position of EMS will improve inclusion floatation and separation from liquid steel. However, inappropriate installation will lead to the entrapment of the slag into liquid steel, and impact the quality of cast billet. The current applied for these plant trials was 300A at a frequency of 3Hz,positions form axial centers of EMS to the top of the mold were 450mm, 510mm and 690mm respectively . 130 billets of medium carbon steel were produced and samples were taken for spectral analysis to study the effects of installation location of EMS on steel cleanliness. The experimental results show that the optimum position of EMS should be placed 510mm from the top end of the copper mold when the electrical current is 300A at frequency of 3 Hz. The three parameters of placement of EMS in paper were obtained from the simulation results, and this paper focused mainly on the effect EMS position on inclusion behaviors in billet.

Swirling turbulent jet flows are of interest in connection with the design and development of various energy and chemical-technological devices as well as both study of flow around bodies and solving problems of environmental hydrodynamics, etc. An interesting example of such a flow is a swirling turbulent wake behind bodies of revolution. Analysis of the known works on the numerical simulation of swirling turbulent wakes behind bodies of revolution indicates lack of knowledge on the dynamics of the momentumless swirling turbulent wake. A special case of the motion of a body with a propulsor whose thrust compensates the swirl is studied, but there is a nonzero integral swirl in the flow. In previous works with the participation of the authors, a numerical simulation of the initial stage of the evolution of a swirling momentumless turbulent wake based on a hierarchy of second-order mathematical models was performed. It is shown that a satisfactory agreement of the results of calculations with the available experimental data is possible only with the use of a mathematical model that includes the averaged equations of motion and differential equations for the transfer of normal Reynolds stresses along the rate of dissipation. In the present work, based on the above mentioned mathematical model, a numerical simulation of the evolution of a far momentumless swirling turbulent wake with a nonzero angular momentum behind the body of revolution is performed. It is shown that starting from distances of the order of 1000 diameters from the body the flow becomes self-similar. Based on the analysis of the results of numerical experiments, simplified mathematical models of the far wake are constructed. The authors dedicate this work to the blessed memory of Vladimir Alekseevich Kostomakha.

In this study, we analyzed the endemic equilibrium point of a malaria-hygiene mathematical model. We prove that the mathematical model is biological and meaningfully well-posed. We also compute the basic reproduction number using the next generation method. Stability analysis of the endemic equilibrium point show that the point is locally stable if reproduction number is greater that unity and globally stable by the Lasalle’s invariant principle. Numerical simulation to show the dynamics of the compartment at various hygiene rate was carried out.
