Foreign bodies in the knee joint are uncommon, particularly those not related to surgical procedures. In this paper, we present a case of an intraosseous metallic foreign body situated in the medial femoral condyle for one year, causing pain, which was removed with complete resolution of the symptoms.

Foreign bodies at the knee level are related to local trauma with subsequent retention. Removal of the foreign body is curative. We present the case of a 16 year old boy with a foreign body (metallic screw) inside the left knee joint related to an unusual home accident. The outcome was favorable after removal of the foreign body and appropriate antibiotic coverage.

Rectal foreign bodies are not uncommon and often pose a serious challenge to surgeons. In majority, the objects are inserted by self in children, psychiatric patients and for sexual gratification in adults. Various rectal foreign bodies have been reported. Deodorant aerosol spray can in the rectum has not been reported previously. Danger of aerosol dispenser can is the risk of fire and explosion. Especially during any surgical procedures to remove the foreign body using cautery or any energy devices. We report of a rare foreign body of deodorant aerosol spray can in the rectum in a young male patient, which was removed under general anaesthesia.

The presence of an embedded foreign body in the oral and maxillofacial region is not unusual, but the impaction of a foreign body with vegetative nature is rare. Prompt diagnosis and surgical removal of these foreign bodies will minimize their associated complications. This case report presents a patient with recurrent submandibular abscess and persistent facial cutaneous sinus tract caused by a retained blade of grass inside the facial soft tissue. The fact that the plain radiograph misdiagnosed the presence of a foreign body meant that the pathology persisted for about three months, and the patient underwent hospitalization, surgical procedures, and antibiotic regimens; however all of these failed until the foreign body was detected and removed.Conclusion. To avoid misdiagnosis of foreign body presence in the orofacial region, notably suspected foreign bodies with low radiopacity, the clinician must perform careful clinical examination and use the ultrasonography. Also, in the uncertain cases where the pathology persists, despite having undertaken surgical procedures and antibiotic regimens, the clinician should pay more attention to the patient’s history which may suggest the presence of the foreign body.

Abstract Background: Metallic foreign body migration into the pulmonary artery after limb trauma is extremely rare. If not treated in time, the patient may die. The metallic foreign body was implanted from the thigh into the pulmonary artery and remained for 5 years. It has never been reported in limb trauma.Case Presentation: The patient was a 51-year-old male who had a small metal foreign body embedded in the middle and lower left thigh due to trauma. The foreign body was not found during emergency debridement operation. During the operation, a full-body X-ray was used to reveal a high-density shadow in the left upper lung. The 3D-CT of the chest immediately confirmed that the high-density shadow was a small iron foreign body, and the iron fragment foreign body was present in the pulmonary artery branch, but no abnormal symptoms were observed. He was hospitalized for observation for 3 days without obvious discomfort and refused to open his chest. The patient then decided to leave the hospital voluntarily. Conclusion: Surgical removal of all foreign bodies traveling to the pulmonary artery is not necessary, and the most appropriate treatment plan should be made considering the location of the foreign body, the patient's wishes and the general condition.

Ingestion of foreign bodies is common primarily in children, psychiatric patients, alcoholics and elderly people who use dentures. Selivanov et al. reported that, in most cases of foreign body ingestion, the most common foreign bodies ingested were coins, bones, food debris, safety pins and razor blades. Rarity, technical difficulty in removing the foreign body, complications associated with the delay in diagnosis and treatment, migration of the foreign body extraluminally, site, shape and position of the sharp end of a safety pin makes this case interesting and worth reporting. We are reporting a case of a one year child presenting to us with accidental ingestion of a safety pin. The case was difficult because the protected end of the safety pin was broken which made both the ends of the foreign body sharp. Also, the ends of safety pin were wide apart and pointing upwards.

Palavras Chave: Uretra, Corpos estranhos, Procedimentos cirúrgicos urológicosABSTRACT Introduction: Self-insertion of a foreign body in the urethra is an unusual practice, however, diagnosis and correct management of the condition are important, given the high potential of becoming a urological emergency and presenting complications. Objective: Rare presentation of 2 cases of self-insertion of foreign body in the urethra Case report: Two clinical cases are reported in which the procedures were individualized after imaging exams.
This case report was to highlight the occurrence of a long standing unusual foreign body in the nasopharynx in an adult. Foreign bodies are common in ENT practice universally. At times they may present as emergency requiring urgent intervention and many a times they go unnoticed as these are not suspected. Nasopharyngeal foreign bodies are rare in any age group. A 70 year old man presented to neurology department with complaints of headache of 1 month duration. CT brain angiography showed atherosclerotic wall calcifications in bilateral cavernous segment of ICA and there was an incidental detection of a metallic foreign body in the posterior wall of oropharynx. History revealed accidental ingestion of a ring into mouth at 1 year of age. Diagnostic nasal endoscopy (DNE) was done, FB (foreign body) ring was seen at the level of left torus tubarius in nasopharynx and same removed in to intraorally. Care should be taken while removing these FBs. Digital manipulation for removal of such FBs are hazardous and should be avoided at all cost.

ABSTRACT Foreign body lodged in the soft tissue is fairly common in the vehicular or industrial accidents. Traumatic injuries in orofacial region often drive foreign bodies in the soft tissues. The immediate closure of the soft tissue wounds become the emergency treatment for the control of bleeding. The foreign body may sometimes remain unnoticed. The purpose of reporting this unusual case of metallic foreign object in the cheek is to highlight the difficulties in detection of foreign bodies and discuss its clinical management. We also discuss the usefulness of various imaging modalities for assessment of its nature, location, size, shape and relation to vital structures. How to cite this article Manekar VS, Chavan A.
