This case report outlines the possibility of accelerated tooth movement with the combination of microosteoperforation and mini-screws. A 14-year-old male patient presented Class II malocclusion with maxillary incisor protrusion. Upper first premolars were extracted, and after leveling, accelerated canine distalization started. For pre- and postdistalization times, amount of distalization, periodontal health, and root resorption were assessed. Within the limitations of this case report, micro-osteoperforations with mini-screw have a potential for shortening the treatment time.

In orthodontic practice various treatment modalities have been presented for the treatment for the class II, div 1malocclusions. Recently a large number of young adults have been seeking shorter, cost effective and a non surgical correction of Class II malocclusions and they accept dental camouflage as a treatment option to mask the skeletal discrepancy .This case report presents one such case, a 15years old growing male who has Class II div I malocclusion with sever maxillary incisor proclination, convex profile ,high mandibular plane angle, incompetent lips, increased overjet& overbite, over retained upper left deciduous canine ,impacted upper left canine and a supernumerary tooth in canine region. We considered the camouflage treatment by extracting the upper right first premolar, left impacted canine, deciduous canine and supernumerary tooth. Following the treatment, a satisfactory result was achieved with an ideal, static and a functional occlusion, facial profile, acceptable smile, competent lip and stable treatment results. Dilaceration is one of the causes of permanent maxillary incisor eruption failure. It is a developmental distortion of the form of a tooth that commonly occurs in permanent incisors as result of trauma to the primary predecessors whose apices lie close to the permanent tooth germ.We present a case of post-traumatic impaction of a dilacerated central maxillary left incisor in a young patient with a class II malocclusion.

ABSTRACT Aim The present case report describes the importance of understanding of biomechanical and clinical considerations in application of Forsus appliance in correction of class II skeletal malocclusion. Background Angle's class II malocclusion is one of the most prevailing that may be either skeletal or dental presenting with different clinical manifestations. There are number of appliances to treat such a malocclusion in a growing child. Fixed functional appliances are indicated for class II corrections in patients who report late with minimal residual growth left. Case description A case of class II skeletal and dental malocclusion treated with preadjusted edgewise appliance supplemented with Forsus Fatigue Resistant Device (FRD) (3M Unitek Corp, California, USA) is reported. Conclusion Forsus device is an effective alternative in treating moderate skeletal class II malocclusion. The Forsus FRD (3M Unitek Corp, California, USA) can be used instead of class II elastics in mild cases and in place of Herbst appliance in severe cases. Alteration of force vector by modifying the archwire as shown in this case report while applying Forsus and incorporation of 10 degree labial root torque in lower archwire will minimize the effects on dentition. Engaging modules or tubing on to the pushrod and leaving 1 to 2 mm clearance between distal end of the upper tube and L-pin as shown in this case report will significantly improve the patient compliance. Clinical significance Much emphasis should be given to biomechanical considerations which were discussed in this article while treating patients with Forsus to prevent the unwanted effects. Clinical considerations and certain modifications advised in this case report should be utilized while treating class II skeletal malocclusions with Forsus appliance to eliminate the patient cooperation factor and make treatment time estimates much more accurate. The following four fundamental points on the use of experimental models will be described to ensure an accurate evaluation of the effects of medication and laser therapy on induced tooth movement and associated root resorption: (1) If the objective is to check the effect on root resorption, the forces experimentally applied must produce a lesion on the cementoblast layer in all specimens; (2) If the objective is to optimize induced tooth movement and reduce treatment time without side effects, the forces experimentally applied should not produce a lesion in the cementoblast layer in any specimen; (3) The laser therapy operator, the person administering medication and the person that places appliances should not know which animals will effectively receive the test treatment, and the control groups should receive placebo treatments; (4) CT and microscopic analysis of the specimens should be random, and the group to which the specimen belongs should not be identified to ensure that the person reading images and the pathologists are not influenced in their evaluation of phenomena. These measures will ensure that results are more reliable and easier to extrapolate to orthodontic clinical practice.

Adequate planning and early treatment of Angle Class II malocclusion with maxillary atresia and anterior open bite provides harmonization of maxillomandibular bone bases in the three planes of space. Orthodontic aligners have emerged as an alternative treatment having the following advantages: being more aesthetic and more comfortable for the patient, less treatment time when they are correctly indicated, less chairside time, less complications, possibility of remote monitoring, easier feeding, and dental hygiene. On the other hand, they offer difficulties to treat adults with severe skeletal Class II malocclusions, posterior crossbite and anterior open bite. Therefore, the objective of this clinical case report is to early correct skeletal Class II malocclusion with maxillary atresia through the use of mechanical orthopedics and devices that help eliminate habits and close the anterior open bite, and later the use of orthodontic aligners to finish the treatment. It was concluded that the early interceptive treatment of malocclusion was efficient to harmonize the bone bases in the anteroposterior, vertical, and transversal directions, changing this malocclusion from high to low complexity and, consequently, highly predictable and with an excellent prognosis for treatment with orthodontic aligners. The treatment with ClearCorrect aligners corrected the occlusion in a shorter period of time when compared to corrective orthodontics and with a high predictability in relation to the virtual setup.

Introduction. Orthodontic treatment of Class II Division 1 (II/1) malocclusions in adults can be challenging since skeletal effects are limited. Possible treatment options are orthodontic camouflage or orthognatic surgery, in severe cases. The aim of this paper was to present a successful management of Class II malocclusion in an adult patient using temporary anchorage devices (TADs). Case report. After detailed clinical examination, study models and cephalometric analysis, a 26 years old patient was diagnosed with Class II malocclusion, an overjet of 12 mm, congenitally missing tooth 41 and midline shifted to the right in upper dental arch. In prior orthodontic treatment, patient had upper premolars extracted. Posterior teeth in upper left quadrant were shifted mesially. The camouflage treatment was considered, using temporary anchorage devices (TADs) to distalize posterior teeth on the left side, and gain space for incisor retraction and midline correction in upper dental arch. Results. Using TADs as additional anchorage in anterior region and coil spring for molar distalization, the space was made for tooth 23, midline correction and incisor retraction. After 40 months, a satisfactory result was achieved, overjet and midline correction, class I canines occlusion and class II molar occlusion. Conclusion. Class II/1 malocclusion in adults can be successfully treated using TADs. The success depends on the severity of malocclusion and patient cooperation.
