Tourism has been identified as one of the sectors that will contribute to Taiwan’s economic development. Online travel agencies’ role in producing economic value in the hospitality industry continues to grow. The hotel industry is used in this study as the research context to help managers of hot spring hotels select the optimal online travel agencies (OTAs) using a hybrid multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) model. The aim of this paper is threefold: first, to obtain selection criteria for OTAs based on the fuzzy Delphi method; second, to extract interdependencies between the perspectives using decision making trial and evaluation laboratory (DEMATEL); and third, according to interdependencies between the perspectives, to rank the alternatives by analytic network process (ANP). Based on the proposed model, a real-world company was conducted and demonstrated OTAs selection problem; the results demonstrated the proficiencies and effectiveness of this model.

Location selection is a critical problem for businesses that can determine the success of an organization. Selecting the optimal location from a pool of alternatives belongs to a multiple criteria decision making (MCDM) problem. This study employed a hybrid MCDM technique to select locations for women’s fitness centers in Taiwan. In the beginning, the fuzzy Delphi method was utilized to obtain selection criteria from interviewed senior executives. In the second stage, the decision making trial and evaluation laboratory (DEMATEL) was employed to extract interdependencies between the selection criteria within each perspective. On the basis of interdependencies between the selection criteria, the analytic network process (ANP) was used to get respective weights of each criterion. Finally, the technique for order preference by similarity to ideal solution (TOPSIS) was ranking the alternatives. To demonstrate application of the proposed model and illustrate a location selection problem, a case was conducted. The capabilities and effectiveness of the proposed model are revealed.

Despite the revolutionary system of online booking, the decision-making process for booking hotels is still very stressful for customers, who face much uncertainty. The wide range of products and great volume of information result in significant cognitive overload. Therefore, online travel agencies (OTAs) try to reduce customers’ cognitive effort requirements and to induce effective decision making by triggering potential actions through perceived affordance. This study aims to explore the influence of perceived affordance on purchase decisions and postpurchase emotion in the context of OTAs. The findings show that explicit affordance and hidden affordance significantly affect impulsive buying, thus resulting in postpurchase discomfort and regret. Additionally, the outcomes of a multiple group analysis revealed a significant moderating effect of regulatory focus orientation on impulsive buying and postpurchase regret during an overall purchase process involving OTAs.

Indian economy is evolving day by day, and with an upswing spending power of its inhabitants advertising has been emerging as one of the most effective tools for the companies to reach out to their customers. Best advertisement agencies create value through giving the product personality, developing an understanding of product/service, creating an image or memorable picture of that product and above all trying to distinguish the product apart from its competitors. Today, advertising budgets of companies are rising and thus there are numerous agencies in the market vying for their shares. But there exists no method, which can take into account numerous criterions and their impact simultaneously under consideration while selecting a best advertisement agency. Selecting an advertisement agency is a multiple criteria decision-making (MCDM) problem that requires considering large number of complex factors as multiple evaluation criteria. A robust MCDM method should consider the interactions among criteria. Analytic network process (ANP) is a relatively new MCDM method which can deal with all kinds of interactions systematically. This paper proposes an ANP based methodology for the selection of advertisement agencies. ANP is capable of measuring the relative importance that captures all indirect interactions in a network required to be considered in an advertisement agency selection and also their interactions. Additionally, the proposed model is evaluated for a case company.

The study explored both the development policy of regional industry and the aerotropolis as an empirical object. In planning an aerotropolis, governments should account for both regional and industrial characteristics to establish appropriate policies for promoting industrial development that maximizes the benefits of invested resources. In this study, a composite multicriteria decision-making method was used to filter the optimal aerotropolis industry evaluation index through the fuzzy Delphi method. Subsequently, the decision-making trial and evaluation laboratory–based analytic network process was used to obtain the influence relations and weights between the indexes to establish an optimal industry plan. Satisfaction evaluation was then used to calculate the performance values of the programs and discover the optimal industries for the city to provide the government with a policy reference. This study found that the technical environment, product and industry networks, and basic environment were the most important aspects of the Taoyuan Aerotropolis. Aviation linkage and logistics services had the highest performance among industries, identifying them as the most suitable supplementary developments to the aviation industry.

This study develops a hybrid multiple criteria decision making (MCDM) model to select program projects for nonprofit TV stations on the basis of managers’ perceptions. By the concept of balanced scorecard (BSC) and corporate social responsibility (CSR), we collect criteria for selecting the best program project. Fuzzy Delphi method, which can lead to better criteria selection, is used to modify criteria. Next, considering the interdependence among the selection criteria, analytic network process (ANP) is then used to obtain the weights of them. To avoid calculation and additional pairwise comparisons of ANP, technique for order preference by similarity to ideal solution (TOPSIS) is used to rank the alternatives. A case study is presented to demonstrate the applicability of the proposed model.

In this paper is researched how to achieve an effective fleet maintenance planning in transport companies, which contributes in increasing the fleet energy efficiency and in achieving the companies? goal. Within the fleet maintenance planning, managers have to make the right decisions on the selection of vehicle service centers in the region where the maintenance work will be realized. The mentioned decision is affected by a number of different interdependent factors (criteria). Based on a survey, relevant factors (criteria) were defined. As defined factors are interdependent and differently influence the mentioned decision, an approach of decision making trial and evaluation laboratory (DEMATEL)-based analytic network process called DANP was applied. In this respect, authors propose a hybrid multi-criteria decision making model. The proposed model was applied in the companies to demonstrate how effective their managers are in the maintenance planning and how this effectiveness influences the fleet energy efficiency and fulfilment of companies? goal.

E-commerce has grown considerably with increasing access to the Internet. As a means of e-commerce, the virtual brand community (VBC) has become one of the important channels for brand enterprises to promote products, enhance brand awareness and compete with enterprises in the digital economy. The most important task of any website is the provision of tailored information and services to satisfy client needs. This research aimed to evaluate the status of websites and services provided by Chinese mobile internet enterprises. Based on the Fogg behaviour model, initial criteria and sub-criteria were constructed, and a new hybrid multiple criteria decision-making (MCDM) model was used in this study that combines the Decision-Making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory (DEMATEL) technique and the analytic network process (ANP) method to determine the interaction between factors and to determine the weight of each factor. Finally, the PROMETHEE method was utilised to rank and develop the consumer interaction capability of the VBC of Chinese mobile internet enterprises. Once these perceptions were captured, among the three criteria determined for the evaluation of the VBC of different mobile internet enterprises, affective involvement was the most important criterion, followed by motivation and environment triggers. Moreover, the VBCs of three communication enterprises were evaluated and ranked to validate the proposed model.

Vendor selection is an important issue in most company based on many criteria that includes ambiguous or uncertain data. Therefore in the study, it is essential that fuzzy approach is employed for coping with the uncertainty and achieving more accurate results. In other hand, the relationships between criteria and sub-criteria are complex; for encompassing the complexity, most conventional decision models cannot help us explain the interrelationships among the criteria. In this paper, a hybrid multi-criteria decision making (MCDM) technique is proposed to determine the structural relationships and the interrelationships among all the evaluation’s dimensions based the Analytic Network Process (ANP) method determining appropriate weightings to each sub-criterion. Then alternatives priority should be determined which can aid the decision making. For the purpose, The TOPSIS (technique for order performance by similarity to idea solution) is used to rank all competing alternatives in terms of their overall performances. In MCDM studies and research, applying TOPSIS in ranking alternatives has recently been customary because of its advantages. In the end, a case study of an Iranian company, in automotive industry, is demonstrated to illustrate the proposed model can improve solving of vendor selection problem.
