This paper examined the three-dimensional steady thin film flow of tangent hyperbolic fluid with nonlinear mixed convection flow and entropy generation past a stretching surface under the influence of magnetic field. For the flow problem, the Cattaneo–Christov heat and mass diffusion model was employed to examine heat and mass transfer characteristics and impacts of the normally directed magnetic field. To transform nonlinear PDEs into ODEs, the variable transformation technique was used. The bvp4c algorithm was implemented to solve these ODEs. The behavior of every leading parameter on the velocities, temperature, concentration profile, entropy generation, and Bejan number was reported with tabular and figurative form. The results show that as the values of Br increase, the entropy generation enhances, but the Bejan number decreases. Moreover, as the values of B increase, the opposite characteristics are observed in entropy generation and Bejan number graphs. Furthermore, the skin friction coefficient number, local Nusselt number, and Sherwood number are graphically discussed for the active involved parameters. The best agreement is recorded when we compare this paper with the previous literature for various values of M .

Abstract The investigations about thin-film flow play a vital role in the field of optoelectronics and magnetic devices. Thin films are reasonably hard and thermally stable but are more fragile. The thermal stability of thin film can be further improved by incorporating the effects of nanoparticles. In the current work, a stretchable surface is considered upon which hybrid nanofluid thin-film flow is taken into account. The idea of augmenting heat transmission is focused in current work by making use of hybrid nanofluid. The flow is affected by variations in the viscous forces along with viscous dissipation effects and Marangoni convection. A time-constrained magnetic field is applied in the normal direction to the flow system. The equations governing the flow system are shifted to a non-dimensional form by applying similarity variables. The homotopy analysis method (HAM) has been employed to find the solution of resultant equations. It has been noticed in this study that, the flow characteristics decline with augmentation in magnetic, viscosity, and unsteadiness parameters while grow up with enhancing values of thin-film parameter. Thermal characteristics are supported by the growing values of the Eckert number and unsteadiness parameter while opposed by the viscosity parameter and Prandtl number. The numerical impact of different emerging parameters upon skin friction and Nusselt number has been calculated in tabular form. A comparison of current work with established result has carried out with a good agreement in both results.

The boundary-layer equations for mass and heat energy transfer with entropy generation are analyzed for the two-dimensional viscoelastic second-grade nanofluid thin film flow in the presence of a uniform magnetic field (MHD) over a vertical stretching sheet. Different factors, such as the thermophoresis effect, Brownian motion, and concentration gradients, are considered in the nanofluid model. The basic time-dependent equations of the nanofluid flow are modeled and transformed to the ordinary differential equations system by using similarity variables. Then the reduced system of equations is treated with the Homotopy Analysis Method to achieve the desire goal. The convergence of the method is prescribed by a numerical survey. The results obtained are more efficient than the available results for the boundary-layer equations, which is the beauty of the Homotopy Analysis Method, and shows the consistency, reliability, and accuracy of our obtained results. The effects of various parameters, such as Nusselt number, skin friction, and Sherwood number, on nanoliquid film flow are examined. Tables are displayed for skin friction, Sherwood number, and Nusselt number, which analyze the sheet surface in interaction with the nanofluid flow and other informative characteristics regarding this flow of the nanofluids. The behavior of the local Nusselt number and the entropy generation is examined numerically with the variations in the non-dimensional numbers. These results are shown with the help of graphs and briefly explained in the discussion. An analytical exploration is described for the unsteadiness parameter on the thin film. The larger values of the unsteadiness parameter increase the velocity profile. The nanofluid film velocity shows decline due the increasing values of the magnetic parameter. Moreover, a survey on the physical embedded parameters is given by graphs and discussed in detail.

Chemical reaction in mixed convection magnetohydrodynamic second grade nanoliquid thin film flow through a porous medium containing nanoparticles and gyrotactic microorganisms is considered with entropy generation. The stratification phenomena, heat and mass transfer simultaneously take place within system. Microorganisms are utilized to stabilize the suspended nanoparticles through bioconvection. For the chemical reaction of species, the mass transfer increases. The governing equations of the problem are transformed to nonlinear differential equations through similarity variables, which are solved through a well known scheme called homotopy analysis method. The solution is expressed through graphs and illustrations which show the influences of all the parameters. The residual error graphs elucidate the authentication of the present work.

This research paper investigates two dimensional liquid film flow of Sisko nanofluid with variable heat transmission over an unsteady stretching sheet in the existence of uniform magnetic field. The basic governing time-dependent equations of the nanofluid flow phenomena with Sisko fluid are modeled and reduced to a system of differential equations with use of similarity transformation. The significant influence of Brownian motion and thermophoresis has been taken in the nanofluids model. An optimal approach is used to obtain the solution of the modeled problems. The convergence of the Homotopy Analysis Method (HAM) method has been shown numerically. The variation of the skin friction, Nusselt number and Sherwood number, their influence on liquid film flow with heat and mass transfer have been examined. The influence of the unsteadiness parameter [Formula: see text] over thin film is explored analytically for different values. Moreover for comprehension, the physical presentation of the embedded parameters, like [Formula: see text], magnetic parameter [Formula: see text], stretching parameter [Formula: see text] and Sisko fluid parameters [Formula: see text], Prandtl number Pr, thermophoretic parameter [Formula: see text], Brownian motion parameter [Formula: see text], Schmidt number [Formula: see text] have been represented by graph and discussed.

This study aims to scrutinize the thin film flow of a nanofluid comprising of carbon nanotubes (CNTs), single and multi-walled i.e., (SWCNTs and MWCNTs), with Cattaneo-Christov heat flux and entropy generation. The time-dependent flow is supported by thermal radiation, variable source/sink, and magneto hydrodynamics past a linearly stretched surface. The obtained system of equations is addressed by the numerical approach bvp4c of the MATLAB software. The presented results are validated by comparing them to an already conducted study and an excellent synchronization in both results is achieved. The repercussions of the arising parameters on the involved profiles are portrayed via graphical illustrations and numerically erected tables. It is seen that the axial velocity decreases as the value of film thickness parameter increases. It is further noticed that for both types of CNTs, the velocity and temperature distributions increase as the solid volume fraction escalates.
