Using strategies that obtain biomarkers where early symptoms coincide, the early detection of Alzheimer’s disease and its complications is essential. Electroencephalogram is a technology that allows thousands of neurons with equal spatial orientation of the duration of cerebral cortex electrical activity to be registered by postsynaptic potential. Therefore, in this paper, the time-dependent power spectrum descriptors are used to diagnose the electroencephalogram signal function from three groups: mild cognitive impairment, Alzheimer’s disease, and healthy control test samples. The final feature used in three modes of traditional classification methods is recorded: k -nearest neighbors, support vector machine, linear discriminant analysis approaches, and documented results. Finally, for Alzheimer’s disease patient classification, the convolutional neural network architecture is presented. The results are indicated using output assessment. For the convolutional neural network approach, the accurate meaning of accuracy is 82.3%. 85% of mild cognitive impairment cases are accurately detected in-depth, but 89.1% of the Alzheimer’s disease and 75% of the healthy population are correctly diagnosed. The presented convolutional neural network outperforms other approaches because performance and the k -nearest neighbors’ approach is the next target. The linear discriminant analysis and support vector machine were at the low area under the curve values.

BackgroundResearch into Alzheimer’s disease has shifted toward the identification of minimally invasive and less time-consuming modalities to define preclinical stages of Alzheimer’s disease.MethodHere, we propose visuomotor network dysfunctions as a potential biomarker in AD and its prodromal stage, mild cognitive impairment with underlying the Alzheimer’s disease pathology. The functionality of this network was tested in terms of timing, accuracy, and speed with goal-directed eye-hand tasks. The predictive power was determined by comparing the classification performance of a zero-rule algorithm (baseline), a decision tree, a support vector machine, and a neural network using functional parameters to classify controls without cognitive disorders, mild cognitive impaired patients, and Alzheimer’s disease patients.ResultsFair to good classification was achieved between controls and patients, controls and mild cognitive impaired patients, and between controls and Alzheimer’s disease patients with the support vector machine (77–82% accuracy, 57–93% sensitivity, 63–90% specificity, 0.74–0.78 area under the curve). Classification between mild cognitive impaired patients and Alzheimer’s disease patients was poor, as no algorithm outperformed the baseline (63% accuracy, 0% sensitivity, 100% specificity, 0.50 area under the curve).Comparison with Existing Method(s)The classification performance found in the present study is comparable to that of the existing CSF and MRI biomarkers.ConclusionThe data suggest that visuomotor network dysfunctions have potential in biomarker research and the proposed eye-hand tasks could add to existing tests to form a clear definition of the preclinical phenotype of AD.

<p class="Abstrak">Cuaca merupakan faktor penting yang dipertimbangkan untuk berbagai pengambilan keputusan. Klasifikasi cuaca manual oleh manusia membutuhkan waktu yang lama dan inkonsistensi. <em>Computer vision</em> adalah cabang ilmu yang digunakan komputer untuk mengenali atau melakukan klasifikasi citra. Hal ini dapat membantu pengembangan <em>self autonomous machine</em> agar tidak bergantung pada koneksi internet dan dapat melakukan kalkulasi sendiri secara <em>real time</em>. Terdapat beberapa algoritma klasifikasi citra populer yaitu K-Nearest Neighbors (KNN), Support Vector Machine (SVM), dan Convolutional Neural Network (CNN). KNN dan SVM merupakan algoritma klasifikasi dari <em>Machine Learning</em> sedangkan CNN merupakan algoritma klasifikasi dari Deep Neural Network. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membandingkan performa dari tiga algoritma tersebut sehingga diketahui berapa gap performa diantara ketiganya. Arsitektur uji coba yang dilakukan adalah menggunakan 5 cross validation. Beberapa parameter digunakan untuk mengkonfigurasikan algoritma KNN, SVM, dan CNN. Dari hasil uji coba yang dilakukan CNN memiliki performa terbaik dengan akurasi 0.942, precision 0.943, recall 0.942, dan F1 Score 0.942.</p><p class="Abstrak"> </p><p class="Abstrak"><em><strong>Abstract</strong></em></p><p class="Abstract"><em>Weather is an important factor that is considered for various decision making. Manual weather classification by humans is time consuming and inconsistent. Computer vision is a branch of science that computers use to recognize or classify images. This can help develop self-autonomous machines so that they are not dependent on an internet connection and can perform their own calculations in real time. There are several popular image classification algorithms, namely K-Nearest Neighbors (KNN), Support Vector Machine (SVM), and Convolutional Neural Network (CNN). KNN and SVM are Machine Learning classification algorithms, while CNN is a Deep Neural Networks classification algorithm. This study aims to compare the performance of that three algorithms so that the performance gap between the three is known. The test architecture is using 5 cross validation. Several parameters are used to configure the KNN, SVM, and CNN algorithms. From the test results conducted by CNN, it has the best performance with 0.942 accuracy, 0.943 precision, 0.942 recall, and F1 Score 0.942.</em></p><p class="Abstrak"><em><strong><br /></strong></em></p>

Alzheimer’s disease (AD), the most common type of dementia, is a progressive disease beginning with mild memory loss, possibly leading to loss of the ability to carry on a conversation and respond to environments. It can seriously affect a person’s ability to carry out daily activities. Therefore, early diagnosis of AD is conducive to better treatment and avoiding further deterioration of the disease. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) has become the main tool for humans to study brain tissues. It can clearly reflect the internal structure of a brain and plays an important role in the diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease. MRI data is widely used for disease diagnosis. In this paper, based on MRI data, a method combining a 3D convolutional neural network and ensemble learning is proposed to improve the diagnosis accuracy. Then, a data denoising module is proposed to reduce boundary noise. The experimental results on ADNI dataset demonstrate that the model proposed in this paper improves the training speed of the neural network and achieves 95.2% accuracy in AD vs. NC (normal control) task and 77.8% accuracy in sMCI (stable mild cognitive impairment) vs. pMCI (progressive mild cognitive impairment) task in the diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease.

The automatic diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease plays an important role in human health, especially in its early stage. Because it is a neurodegenerative condition, Alzheimer’s disease seems to have a long incubation period. Therefore, it is essential to analyze Alzheimer’s symptoms at different stages. In this paper, the classification is done with several methods of machine learning consisting of K -nearest neighbor (KNN), support vector machine (SVM), decision tree (DT), linear discrimination analysis (LDA), and random forest (RF). Moreover, novel convolutional neural network (CNN) architecture is presented to diagnose Alzheimer’s severity. The relationship between Alzheimer’s patients’ functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) images and their scores on the MMSE is investigated to achieve the aim. The feature extraction is performed based on the robust multitask feature learning algorithm. The severity is also calculated based on the Mini-Mental State Examination score, including low, mild, moderate, and severe categories. Results show that the accuracy of the KNN, SVM, DT, LDA, RF, and presented CNN method is 77.5%, 85.8%, 91.7%, 79.5%, 85.1%, and 96.7%, respectively. Moreover, for the presented CNN architecture, the sensitivity of low, mild, moderate, and severe status of Alzheimer patients is 98.1%, 95.2%,89.0%, and 87.5%, respectively. Based on the findings, the presented CNN architecture classifier outperforms other methods and can diagnose the severity and stages of Alzheimer’s disease with maximum accuracy.

: Absence seizure is a type of brain disorder in which subject get into sudden lapses in attention. Which means sudden change in brain stimulation. Most of this type of disorder is widely found in children’s (5-18 years). These Electroencephalogram (EEG) signals are captured with long term monitoring system and are analyzed individually. In this paper, a Convolutional Neural Network to extract single channel EEG seizure features like Power, log sum of wavelet transform, cross correlation, and mean phase variance of each frame in a windows are extracted after pre-processing and classify them into normal or absence seizure class, is proposed as an empowerment of monitoring system by automatic detection of absence seizure. The training data is collected from the normal and absence seizure subjects in the form of Electroencephalogram. The objective is to perform automatic detection of absence seizure using single channel electroencephalogram signal as input. Here the data is used to train the proposed Convolutional Neural Network to extract and classify absence seizure. The Convolutional Neural Network consist of three layers 1] convolutional layer – which extract the features in the form of vector 2] Pooling layer – the dimensionality of output from convolutional layer is reduced and 3] Fully connected layer–the activation function called soft-max is used to find the probability distribution of output class. This paper goes through the automatic detection of absence seizure in detail and provide the comparative analysis of classification between Support Vector Machine and Convolutional Neural Network. The proposed approach outperforms the performance of Support Vector Machine by 80% in automatic detection of absence seizure and validated using confusion matrix.

In this paper, a hybrid method based on deep learning is proposed to visually classify terrains encountered by mobile robots. Considering the limited computing resource on mobile robots and the requirement for high classification accuracy, the proposed hybrid method combines a convolutional neural network with a support vector machine to keep a high classification accuracy while improve work efficiency. The key idea is that the convolutional neural network is used to finish a multi-class classification and simultaneously the support vector machine is used to make a two-class classification. The two-class classification performed by the support vector machine is aimed at one kind of terrain that users are mostly concerned with. Results of the two classifications will be consolidated to get the final classification result. The convolutional neural network used in this method is modified for the on-board usage of mobile robots. In order to enhance efficiency, the convolutional neural network has a simple architecture. The convolutional neural network and the support vector machine are trained and tested by using RGB images of six kinds of common terrains. Experimental results demonstrate that this method can help robots classify terrains accurately and efficiently. Therefore, the proposed method has a significant potential for being applied to the on-board usage of mobile robots.
