In the last decade, the Internet of Things (IoT) has grown to connect a large number of smart entities, devices, and components. These connected entities provide a wide range of services to improve the current society of end customers. The Industrial Internet of Things (IIoTs) are revolutionary systems that have linked manufacturing processes with Internet access in order to preciously increase quality of services. These systems have minimized the costs of production through collaboration with electronic objects, accumulating computing, advanced analytics, and smart perception techniques. A demanding analysis of the strengths and limitations of computational models of IIoT is an essential part of the industry and before deciding which approach to use and implement for enhancing usability. Therefore, the goal of this study is to provide feedback and information to the research community and identify patterns in recommendations for future research in the context of process, development, and monitoring of additional technologies of computational models for IIoT. This paper has presented a comprehensive summary of the existing literature on IIoT for providing details about modern industrial revolutions in the context of IIoT. Associated materials were searched and filtered for identification of relevant materials to the proposed study. These materials have been collectively studied with in-depth analysis and then summarized to condense the information of computation models for the readers as well as entrepreneurs. The study will facilitate research community and practitioners to develop novel techniques, algorithms, and tools to automate and facilitate IIoT. This will develop the field of IIoT and will enhance its usability.

The purpose of this article is to build a conceptual framework based on literature review that will be tested in future research related to Digital Business. The results of the literature review allow for the construction of hypotheses into a conceptual framework. Furthermore, the study assesses the influence of performance expectations, efforts expectations and social influence on behavioral intention and usage behavior by modifying Hofstede’s cultural dimensions. The conceptual framework will be tested among Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) users for future research in Indonesia. Color based object sorting has a significant impact in food and processing Industries. Hand picking process in sorting the huge number of objects in industry is very common and laborious task, and time consuming as well, which needs many labors and this conventional method is prone to error. The proposed work aims to replace the hand-picking process by Industrial Internet of Things. The goal of the technique is to sort and count the objects in to different bins accord to their color. A Color sensor, TCS 230 will identify the object and with the help of motors they are made to drop into different bins. The identification of the object is made with the help of frequency concept. As it known that different colors have different wave lengths, so are the different frequencies (f=c/λ). For each frequency, the motor rotates to different angles and thus container is attached to motor is also made to rotate to a certain angle, and the object is made to drop into the bin by a jerk. This action details regarding number of objects manufactured are sent to the IoT server, where the vendor and customer will know the details remotely. This proposed work finds a wide range of usage in fruit industry (to pick the unripen fruit), in candy industry, in grain industry (to remove the black stones from the grains), in recycling industry.

With the inclusion of tactile Internet (TI) in the industrial sector, we are at the doorstep of the tactile Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT). This provides the ability for the human operator to control and manipulate remote industrial environments in real-time. The TI use cases in IIoT demand a communication network, including ultra-low latency, ultra-high reliability, availability, and security. Additionally, the lack of the tactile IIoT testbed has made it more severe to investigate and improve the quality of services (QoS) for tactile IIoT applications. In this work, we propose a virtual testbed called IoTactileSim, that offers implementation, investigation, and management for QoS provisioning in tactile IIoT services. IoTactileSim utilizes a network emulator Mininet and robotic simulator CoppeliaSim to perform real-time haptic teleoperations in virtual and physical environments. It provides the real-time monitoring of the implemented technology parametric values, network impairments (delay, packet loss), and data flow between operator (master domain) and teleoperator (slave domain). Finally, we investigate the results of two tactile IIoT environments to prove the potential of the proposed IoTactileSim testbed.

Industrial information integration engineering (IIIE) is a set of foundational concepts and techniques that facilitate the industrial information integration process. In recent years, many applications of the integration between Internet of Things (IoT) and IIIE have become available, including industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), cyber-physical systems, smart grids, and smart manufacturing. In order to investigate the latest achievements of studies on IIIE, this paper reviews literatures from 2016 to 2019 in IEEEXplore and Web of Science. Altogether, 970 papers related to IIIE are grouped into 27 research categories and reviewed. The results present up-to-date development of IIIE and provide directions for future research on IIIE.

The Industrial Internet of Things is recently a widely discussed phenomenon. However, business level effects of this phenomenon are by now underresearched. We tackle this research gap by presenting an in-depth analysis of business model changes manufacturing firms employ to adequately react to this technological development. Against the background of a multiple-case study we identify and characterise three archetypes of business models manufacturing firm implement in order to benefit from opportunities provided by the Industrial Internet of Things. Furthermore, we present insights on how firms innovate their extant business model in this context. Thereby, our study considerably contributes to business model research and additionally bolsters up a strategic firm level perspective on the Industrial Internet of Things.

Concepts such as Industry 4.0 and Cyber-Physical Systems may bring forward a new industrial revolution. These concepts require extensive connectivity far beyond what is provided by traditional industrial networks. The Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) bridges this gap by employing wireless connectivity and IP networking. In order for wireless networks to meet the strict requirements of the industrial domain, the Time Slotted Channel Hopping (TSCH) MAC is often employed. The properties of a TSCH network are defined by the schedule, which dictates transmission opportunities for all nodes. We survey the literature for these schedulers, describe and organize them according to their operation: Centralized, Collaborative, Autonomous, Hybrid, and Static. For each category and the field as a whole, we provide a holistic view and describe historical trends, highlight key developments, and identify trends, such as the attention towards autonomous mechanisms. Each of the 76 schedulers is analyzed into their common components to allow for comparison between schedulers and a deeper understanding of functionality and key properties. This reveals trends such as increasing complexity and the utilization of centralized principles in several collaborative schedulers. Further, each scheduler is evaluated qualitatively to identify its objectives. Altogether this allows us to point out challenges in existing work and identify areas for future research, including fault tolerance, scalability, non-convergecast traffic patterns, and hybrid scheduling strategies.

The large scale increase of communication and number of devices in the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) has rapidly enabled practitioners to make decisions based on multicriteria. Multicriteria decision support systems (MCDSSs) play an important role in decision-making for a particular situation based on several criteria. Making of decision based on multicriteria is the main issues for research community and practitioners of the IIoT. Several decision support systems (DSSs) are offered for making decisions which have the potentiality to support the activities of the decision-making process. The suggested study shows a review on the existing decision support systems for the IIoT for source code transformation which will enable research community and practitioners of the industry to use the existing methods, tools, approaches, and techniques and to provide novel solutions for the smooth industry of Internet of Things.
