In this paper, a data mining-enabled model is developed to analyze the case-related data of 39 patients with urinary tract injury who underwent laparoscopic surgery in a certain hospital from 2012 to 2017. Statistics on the history and characteristics of the case data summarized and analyzed the causes of urinary tract injury and the urinary system. The relationship between the occurrence of injury and the type of surgery and the treatment and preventive measures taken for urinary tract injury during and after surgery are summarized. The statistical method with SPSS16.0 statistical software was used to analyze the data of this study, and the X2 test was used to compare the rates. The differences of P ≤ 0.05 and P ≤ 0.01 were statistically significant. Laparoscopic surgery in gynecology is a minimally invasive technique, but it is still accompanied by the possibility of complications. During the experimental setup and implementation, we have observed that among 8742 cases of laparoscopic surgery complicated by urinary tract injury, there were 39 cases with a rate of 0.45%. In the past five years, the incidence of urinary tract injury in gynecological surgery in our country has increased year by year, and the number of cases of urinary tract injury has also increased year by year. Through analysis, it is found that the cause of the injury is related to the level of surgery, pelvic adhesion, and energy equipment. Based on the above problems, according to the clinical data of patients with urinary tract injury complicated by gynecological surgery in the hospital, the relevant factors of gynecological surgery complicated by urinary tract injury are analyzed to improve the awareness of urinary tract protection and prevention of injury during the operation and preventive measures are actively taken to avoid medical treatment.

BACKGROUND: Urinary tract infection (UTI) is one of the common conditions and significantly contributes to expensive health treatment and associated with gynecological surgery which increases the cases up to 50% in women undergoing specific reconstructive procedures. Besides that, one indicator of surgical quality was post-operative UTI occurrence. AIM: This study aims to assess the relationship between Foley catheter usage and UTIs after gynecological surgery with a urinary catheter. METHODS: A total of 48 subjects examined at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Universitas Sumatera Utara Hospital, and Haji Adam Malik General Hospital, Medan, from June to September 2020. Subjects were performed urinalysis 8 days after surgery, or earlier if UTI symptoms occur. Personal data and illness data were taken from medical records. Statistical analysis was done using the Chi-square-based test. RESULTS: There was a significant difference of urine leukocytes in subjects with indwelled catheter for 24–36 h compared to subjects with 36–48 h of catheterization (p = 0.01). The 36–48 h group has a 2.15 odds of developing UTI compared to 24–36 h group (p = 0.01). CONCLUSION: This study found that prolonged indwelling Foley catheter usage may increase the risk of UTI after gynecology surgery.

The most common cause of complete atrioventricular block (CAVB) is age-related fibrotic degeneration and is referred to as primary idiopathic complete atrioventricular block (iCAVB). This study aims to investigate the relationship between iCAVB and arterial stiffness using the cardio-ankle vascular index (CAVI). In this study, of 205 CAVB patients, 41 patients with iCAVB implanted with a dual-chamber permanent pacemaker and 40 age- and gender-matched controls were studied. Arterial stiffness was assessed by a VaSera VS-1000 CAVI instrument. The CAVI values of patients with iCAVB were significantly higher compared with the controls (9.63 ± 1.42 vs 8.57 ± 1.12, P < .001). Idiopathic complete atrioventricular block frequency was higher among patients with abnormal CAVI values than those with borderline and normal CAVI ( P = .04). In multivariate analysis, only CAVI was an independent predictor of iCAVB after adjusting for other relevant factors (odds ratio, 2.575; 95% CI [1.390-4.770]; P = .003). The present study demonstrated that CAVI, as a marker of arterial stiffness, was increased among elderly patients with iCAVB. Thus, we provide a possible additional mechanism linking easily measured CAVI with iCAVB.

The current paradigm of urinary tract infection (UTI) pathogenesis takes into account the contamination of the periurethral space by specific uropathogens residing in the gut, which is followed by urethral colonization and pathogen ascension to the urinary bladder. Consequently, studying the relationship between gut microbiota and the subsequent development of bacteriuria and UTI represents an important field of research. However, the well-established diagnostic and therapeutic paradigm for urinary tract infections (UTIs) has come into question with the discovery of a multifaceted, symbiotic microbiome in the healthy urogenital tract. More specifically, emerging data suggest that vaginal dysbiosis may result in Escherichia coli colonization and prompt recurrent UTIs, while urinary microbiome perturbations may precede the development of UTIs and other pathologic conditions of the urinary system. The question is whether these findings can be exploited for risk reduction and treatment purposes. This review aimed to appraise the three aforementioned specific microbiomes regarding their potential influence on UTI development by focusing on the recent studies in the field and assessing the potential linkages between these different niches, as well as evaluating the state of translational research for novel therapeutic and preventative approaches.
