In safety-critical fields, architectural languages such as AADL (Architecture Analysis and Design Language) have been playing an important role, and the analysis of the languages and systems designed by them is a challenging research topic. At present, a formal method has become one of the main practices in software engineering for strict analysis, and it has been applied on the tools of formalization and analysis. The formal method can be used to find and resolve the problems early by describing the system with precise semantics and validating the system model. This article studies the comprehensive formal specification and verification of AADL with Behavior annex by the formal method. The presentation of this specification and semantics is the aim of this article, and the work is illustrated with an ARINC653 model case study in Isabelle/HOL.

Matching supply capacity and customer demand is challenging for companies. Practitioners often fail due to a lack of information or delays in the decision-making process. Moreover, researchers fail to holistically consider demand patterns and their dynamics over time. Thus, the aim of this study is to propose a holistic approach for manufacturing organizations to change or manage their capacity. The viable system model was applied in this study. The focus of the research is the clustering of manufacturing and assembly companies. The goal of the developed capacity management model is to be able to react to all potential demand scenarios by making decisions regarding labor and correct investments and in the right moment based on the needed information. To ensure this, demand data series are analyzed enabling autonomous decision-making. In conclusion, the proposed approach enables companies to have internal mechanisms to increase their adaptability and reactivity to customer demands. In order to prove the conceptual model, a simulation of an automotive plant case study was performed, comparing it to classical approaches.


Detection and reorganization of text may save a lot of time while reproducing old books text and its chapters. This is really challenging research topic as different books may have different font types and styles. The digital books and eBooks reading habit is increasing day by day and new documents are producing every day. So in order to boost the process the text reorganization using digital image processing techniques can be used. This research work is using hybrid algorithms and morphological algorithms. For sample we have taken an letter pad where the text and images are separated using algorithms. The another objective of this research is to increase the accuracy of recognized text and produce accurate results. This research worked on two different concepts, first is concept of Pixel-level thresholding processing and another one is Otsu Method thresholding.

The purpose of this article was to demonstrate the difference between a pandemic plan’s textual prescription and its effective processing using graphical notation. Before creating a case study of the Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN) of the Czech Republic’s pandemic plan, we conducted a systematic review of the process approach in pandemic planning and a document analysis of relevant public documents. The authors emphasized the opacity of hundreds of pages of text records in an explanatory case study and demonstrated the effectiveness of the process approach in reengineering and improving the response to such a critical situation. A potential extension to the automation and involvement of SMART technologies or process optimization through process mining techniques is presented as a future research topic.

AbstractPliny the Elder testifies that roman workshops used volcanic glass (obsidian), but also produced and used a dark glass (obsidian-like glass) quite similar to the natural one. In the context of the study on medieval mosaics, the use of the obsidian and obsidian-like tesserae is a challenging research topic. In this paper, we present the results of a multidisciplinary study carried out on the Dedication wall mosaic, realized by a byzantine workshop in the 12th century in the Church of St. Mary of the Admiral in Palermo, and where numerous black-appearing tesserae, supposed to be composed of obsidian by naked-eyes observation, are present. Historical documents, multispectral imaging of the wall mosaic, and some analytical methods (SEM-EDS and XRPD) applied to a sample of black tesserae, concur in identifying here the presence of obsidian and different obsidian-like glass tesserae. This evidence, although related to the apparent tampering and restoration, could open a new scenario in the use of obsidian and obsidian-like glass tesserae during the Byzantine period in Sicily and in the reconstruction of multiple restoration phases carried out between 12th and 20th century AD on the mosaics of St. Mary of the Admiral.
