<p>Visible Light Communication is a communication method that transmits data through light by pulsing an LED at high speed, performing broadcast communication for all devices existing in its coverage. Broadcast-based Visible Light Communication is limited to application to Internet of Things services, where various applications exist, although all receivers can communicate within the range of light sources. Therefore, this paper proposes an LED based Visible Light Communication system for multicast. The proposed system performs individual multicast by participating in communication only with receivers configured to use a specified ID value input at the transmitting side during data transmission. Experimental results show that the receiver can receive files individually according to a specified ID value.</p>

Abstract Visible light communication (VLC) has recently drawn more attention due to the existing light sources having a bandwidth that can deliver data transmission at higher bit rates. To maintain desired brightness levels along with reliable data transmission, VLC requires to control dimming levels. In this paper, a dimming control scheme based on pulse position modulation (PPM) is proposed, which constructs a dimming encoded frame per symbol of input data. The scheme utilizes multiple headers, which is selected depending on the dimming levels and the number of bits in a symbol of input data. The proposed scheme for the VLC system supports various dimming levels. The multi header PPM frame generation for input data K = 4 $K=4$ and dimming values α = 0.25, 0.375, and 0.5 is simulated using NI Labview. The proposed dimming scheme has an excellent short-run length property which is well under the maximum flickering time period and is thus capable of flicker mitigation. The slot error performance of the proposed dimming control scheme in a VLC system for varying dimming levels is simulated in Matlab. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme has excellent error performance for a low dimming value of α = 0.25. The experimental results are also carried out in the optisystem considering the practical measured parameters of the indoor environment for free space channel and simulating the VLC system for the proposed scheme. The simulation is carried for different data rates over varying link ranges and the experimental results show that the proposed scheme performs best when dimming value α = 0.25 and data rate 2 Gbps.

Based on data from the Indonesian Traffic Corps by September 2019, the number of car accidents was dominated by rear-hit crashes with 6,966 accidents. Most of these accidents occurred during car convoys. It needs a car-to-car communication to increase driver awareness. One of the technologies that can be applied is Visible Light Communication (VLC) and infrared communication. The transmitted data are the vehicle speed data, throttle position, and brake stepping indicator. The data are obtained by reading the Engine Control Unit (ECU) in the car. The data are packaged from the three data and sent to other cars at day and night using VLC and infrared communication. The experimental results show that in a communication system that uses VLC, data can be exchanged between cars during the day up to 2 meters and at night up to 11 meters. Otherwise, in infrared communication, vehicles can communicate during the day up to 2 meters and at night up to 0.7 meter. The test was also carried out with some conditions such as rain, smoke, passers, and other vehicle lights.

Visible light communication technology is a emerging wireless and optical communication technology developed after invention and application of white LED.In this paper, we have a research based on indoor visible light communication system of lighting white LED,discuss of the visible light communication channel characteristics,detailedly analysis of the indoor visible light communication link. This paper focuses on the modulation and demodulation method applied to visible light communication. In the past visible light communication is mainly used off keying modulation,however, the data transfer speed is limited due to the influence of ISI .This paper presents a solution based on OFDM modulation and demodulation, to reduce the impact brought from inter-symbol string under high data transfer speed.Based on data analysis and computer simulation,the program presented in this paper can be used as indoor lighting and high-speed data transmission.Finally, give scheme to achieve visible light communication modulation and demodulation,provide a theoretical basis for further experiments.

Visible light communication (VLC) is an upcoming wireless technology for next-generation communication for high-speed data transmission. It has the potential for capacity enhancement due to its characteristic large bandwidth. Concerning signal processing and suitable transceiver design for the VLC application, an amplification-based optical transceiver is proposed in this article. The transmitter consists of a driver and laser diode as the light source, while the receiver contains a photodiode and signal amplifying circuit. The design model is proposed for its simplicity in replacing the trans-impedance and transconductance circuits of the conventional modules by a simple amplification circuit and interface converter. The system was tested at communication distances of 1m and 3.5m using a terminal emulation program for data transfer between two computing devices.
