Abstract This paper adopts a co-word analysis approach and uses EXCEL and SPSS as tools to assist the authors in undertaking content analysis and mining of research on Chinese foundations between 2003-2012. In this way, the authors attempt to develop an understanding of the current state of research on Chinese foundations and to grasp the major areas within this research that has commanded the most attention. Our study reveals that the four main sub-divisions of this field that have been main focal points of scholarly interest are: the institutional environment within which foundations exist; internal governance; systems for foundation evaluation; and foundations linked to institutes of higher education.

Introduction and Objectives: Considering the importance of higher education and the fundamental role of faculty members in developing the quality of universities and establishing justice, it is necessary to correctly determine their performance, which is one of the main components of higher education. Therefore, this study aimed to provide a model for determining the faculty member workload at Hamadan Branch, Islamic Azad University, Hamadan, Iran. Materials and Methods: This multi-stage mixed study was conducted in three stages. In the first stage, a qualitative research method was used to conduct 15 semi-structured in-depth interviews with 15 faculty members at Hamadan Branch, Islamic Azad University, Hamadan, Iran, in the academic year 2018-19. The qualitative data were analyzed using Graneheim and Lundmanchr('39')s method and a content analysis approach. Subsequently, in the second stage of presenting a model for workload determination, 230 people were selected by stratified random method and Morgan table. Positive and negative emotions, self-regulation, and academic self-improvement questionnaires were used to collect the data. The validity and reliability of the questionnaires were confirmed by expert opinions and Cronbachchr('39')s alpha, respectively. Qualitative content analysis method, structural equations, and LISREL were used in order to analyze the data. Results: According to the results of the qualitative data, the dimensions of the initial model using the content analysis approach were classified into seven categories of "education and teaching", "research", "specialized activities outside the university", "entrepreneurship", "individual development", "culture", as well as "executive and managerial activities". Positive and negative emotions, self-regulation, and academic self-improvement questionnaires showed a good fit of the model. Conclusion: According to the findings, it can be said that Azad Universities of Hamadan province, Iran, have not yet been able to consider appropriate activities for faculty members in the main categories of "research", "entrepreneurship", "individual development", "culture", and "other activities" that professors pay attention to. On the other hand, the main focus is on "teaching and learning" and "executive activities".

Palabras clave: aprendizaje invertido, aula invertida, análisis de contenido, The purpose of this study is to describe the current state of research publication and trends in flipped learning, found on ‘Web of Science’ during the period 2014–2018. There are 262 papers investigated, published and indexed on ‘Web of Science’ with the keyword: “flipped learning” and “flipped classroom”. The results of the study are analysed according to the journal of publication by these criteria: author, countries, funding agencies, document types, languages, organisation, publication years and source title. Flipped learning changes the traditional lecturing by flipping the classroom in the sense of listening to the video lectures at home and doing dynamic, group-based activities in the classroom. This engages the students in active learning, critical thinking, and meliorates interpersonal skills. It is recommended to authors to explore the possibility of utilising this method, experimenting and publish the findings which allows to create best practices and a unified framework for leading instructors who want to adopt this teaching methodology. Keywords: Flipped learning, flipped classroom, content analysis,

This article provides an overview of the current state of repositories of open educational resources (ROER) in higher education at international level. It analyses a series of educational indicators to determine whether ROER can meet the specific needs of the education context, and to clarify understanding of the reuse of open educational resources (OER) provided by ROER. The aim of the study is to assess ROER by combining these two perspectives, and to form a basis for discussion among the universities that are responsible for these repositories.

The method was based on content analysis and consisted of two phases: an exploration of international sources, and an analysis of 110 ROER using the proposed set of indicators. The results focus on data from the analysis of ROER websites and some models of good practices. They are presented according to three core dimensions for evaluating ROER: general factors to establish types of ROER, a focus on drivers for OER reuse, and a focus on educational aspects. It was found that most of the ROER that included one or more of the proposed reuse indicators were created exclusively for educational resources. Educational aspects are not yet firmly embedded into ROER. The few repositories that seem to have successfully included them are those that provide other educational metadata and use educational standards.

This chapter analyzes research in social responsibility (SR) reporting in higher education institutions (HEI), addressing different aspects: a longitudinal assessment, the theoretical approaches, the adopted methodologies, and its main results. A systematic literature review is undertaken. To do so, the ISI Web of Knowledge and Scopus databases were used to retrieve the articles for analysis. The articles were limited to business and management research area. Findings show that literature on SR reporting in HEIs is still in its infancy and it is very heterogeneous, with only 24 articles addressing this theme. Most articles resorted to qualitative methodologies, emphasizing the case study. Findings also show a lack of normalization regarding reporting. Stakeholders' theory and the seek for legitimacy are crucial in SR disclosing in HEIs. Several contributions emerge, namely the provision of a comprehensive review of the current state of research on SR reporting in HEIs and, consequently, a call for increasing the awareness of such organizations towards the importance of this theme.

There is no doubt that the need for qualitative research has increased and has been felt all around the world. Once feared, detested, or even not much valued by some, qualitative research has now become the rare bird many people are trying to catch. Unfortunately, as more and more people and institutions try to embrace qualitative research, maybe more damage is being done in the process because of the lack of solid understanding of qualitative research. To pave a strong way to excellence in qualitative research conduct and dissemination, it is important to have an idea of the current state of qualitative research. This paper is based on content analysis of the input from 197 higher education professors, administrators, researchers, graduate and doctoral students from 40 higher education institutions in the Philippines. It is based on 10 most commonly asked questions about qualitative research. These questions are grouped into three major themes: the fundamentals, the methodology, and the trustworthiness of qualitative research. Understanding these commonly asked questions can help us pave better the way to quality capability training in qualitative research.
