Four new species belonging to the Acantholycosa-complex from South Siberia (Russia and East Kazakhstan) are diagnosed, described and illustrated: Acantholycosa kulikovi sp. n. (♀, Kazakhstan), A. sergeevi sp. n. (♂, Russia), A. sidorovi sp. n. (♂♀, Russia) and Mongolicosa lizae sp. n. (♂♀, Russia). Previously unknown females of Acantholycosa levinae Marusik, Azarkina & Koponen, 2004 and A. sayanensis Marusik, Azarkina & Koponen, 2004 are described for the first time.

A Small collection of fossils from the Bokkeveld Beds has recently been sent to me for identification by the South African Museum, and some of them have been generously presented to the Sedgwick Museum. Amongst this material it is interesting to find some genera not previously recorded from the Cape and some new species. The majority of the specimens are in the condition of internal casts, and hence present especial difficulties in their determination, so that in a few cases some uncertainty must remain as to the generic position of the fossils. However, I am able to record for the first time from these beds the occurrence of the well-known lamellibranchiate genus Buchiola, and of a shell which may be identified with Nyussa arguta, Hall, of the North American Devonian. The genus Buchiola occurs in argillaceous nodules from the Zwartberg Pass crowded with individuals of the species which I have named B. subpalmata and with a few examples of an undetermined species. No other associated fossils can be recognised in these nodules, but I am informed that an abundant fauna is found in the beds at this locality.

In this contribution we present updates on the taxonomy and morphology of the South American species of Amitermes. Two new species are described: Amitermes bandeirai, sp. n., from Brazil, and Amitermes lilloi, sp. n., from Argentina. Amitermes nordestinus is a junior synonym of Amitermes aporema. The imago of A. aporema is described for the first time. Detailed comparative gut anatomy of the eight species is presented for the first time. The geographic distribution of Amitermes in South America is expanded and the distribution patterns of some species are discussed.

Five new species of Paravibrissina Shima are described from Southeast Asia and the South Pacific: P. argentifera sp. nov., P. aurigera sp. nov., P. leucogaster sp. nov., P. pacifica sp. nov. and P. parvula sp. nov. Paravibrissina adiscalis infuscata Shima and P. thailandica Shima are synonymized with P. adiscalis Shima (syn. nov). The female, egg and a host are known for the first time for the type species, P. adiscalis. Paravibrissina is moved to the tribe Goniini from its original placement in the Blondeliini and its systematic position is discussed in light of conflicting characters. A key to the known species of Paravibrissina is provided.

The present paper reports on 22 species collected by the Brazilian Program of Living Resources in the Exclusive Economic Zone (REVIZEE). A new genus and species of Cribrilinidae, Corbuliporina crepida n. gen. et sp., is described, along with seventeen other new species: Chaperia brasiliensis n. sp., Amastigia aviculifera n. sp., Isosecuriflustra pinniformis n. sp., Cellaria subtropicalis n. sp., Melicerita brasiliensis n. sp., Arachnopusia haywardi n. sp., Smittina migottoi n. sp., Hippomenella amaralae n. sp., Rogicka joannae n. sp., Malakosaria atlantica n. sp., Turbicellepora winstonae n. sp., Rhynchozoon coalitum n. sp., Stephanollona angusta n. sp., Stephanollona arborescens n. sp., Aulopocella americana n. sp., Conescharellina cookae n. sp. and Conescharellina bocki n. sp. Chorizopora brongniartii (Audouin, 1826) is recorded for the first time in Brazilian waters and a new combination for Rhynchozoon arborescens Canu & Bassler, 1928 is established. New illustrations and taxonomic remarks are included for two little-known species from Brazil, Rogicka scopae (Canu & Bassler, 1928) and Fenestrulina ampla Canu & Bassler, 1928. The genus Hartemita Cameron, 1910 is recorded from Russia for the first time. Hartemita spasskensis sp. n. is described from the Primorsk Territory of Russia. A key to Palaearctic species of Hartemita and a review of Cardiochilinae occurring in Russia are given.

Seven new species of the mite family Scutacaridae (Acari: Pygmephoroidea) are described from the alpine zone (1600–1900 m a.s.l.) of the Central Otago region of the South Island of New Zealand: Diversipes laticaudatus sp. nov., Scutacarus isotrichus sp. nov., S. incisus sp. nov., S. spinisetus sp. nov., S. cornutus sp. nov., S. novaezealandicus sp. nov., and S. crassus sp. nov. In addition, Imparipes woodi Mahunka, 1974 is recorded from the New Zealand for the first time and redescribed.

Eleven of the thirteen Palaearctic species of the genus Metachrostis Hübner, [1820] 1816 are reviewed. Three new species, M. djakonovi sp. n., M. hoenei sp. n. and M. sinevi sp. n. are described from south east Kazakhstan and western Mongolia, south China, Sichuan Prov. and south of Russian Far East. Metachrostis miasma (Hampson, 1891), comb. n. and M. batanga (Draudt, 1950) comb. n. are transferred from the genus Eublemma to Metachrostis. The combination Eublemma melabela Hampson, 1910, comb. rev. for Metachrostis melabela is revalidated. Most treated species are redescribed and the adults and genitalia are illustrated. The genus Metachrostis is reported for the first time from Russia. A checklist of the genus Metachrostis is presented.

The South American genus Phantasca Redtenbacher, 1906 (Phasmatodea: Diapheromeridae: Diapheromaerinae) is re-diagnosed and revised at the species level. The precedingly unknown eggs are described for the first time. The genus Pterolibethra Günther, 1940 (type species: P. heteronemia Günther, 1940) is re-synonymised, with Phantasca (syn. nov.) and consequently the two species originally contained, P. heteronemia Günther, 1940 and P. poeciloptera Günther, 1940, are transferred to Phantasca (comb. rev.). P. laeta Conle, Hennemann & Gutierréz, 2011 is not congeneric and is transferred to the genus Jeremiodes Hennemann & Conle, 2007 (Cladomorphinae: Cladomorphini; comb. nov.). Two species are removed from Bacteria Berthold, 1827 and transferred to Phantasca; these are B. quadrilobata Chopard, 1911 and B. montana Redtenbacher, 1906 (comb. nov.). Six new species are described: P. adiposa sp. nov., P. amabile sp. nov., P. femorata sp. nov., P. guianensis sp. nov., P. nigrolineata sp. nov. and P. ruboligata sp. nov. The male and egg of P. quadrilobata (Chopard, 1911) are described and illustrated for the first time. The genus now contains 13 species that are distributed throughout the northern half of South America. A key as well as detailed descriptions and illustrations are presented for all known species.

A New Species

The genus Thibetoides, known from the western USA and various parts of the former USSR, Turkey and Eastern Europe, is reported from Western Europe for the first time. A single female of Thibetoides aprosthemae Shaw sp. nov. was reared from a cocoon of the argid sawfly Aprosthema tardum collected in the south of France. The new species is described, figured and distinguished from its close relative T. anatolicus Kasparyan, known from S. E. Turkey. A figure is given of the very differently coloured T. acerbus Viktorov, which occurs in Ukraine and Bulgaria and is geographically the closest to the new species, and some morphological points of difference are noted.

Abstract:The new species Ramboldia blastidiata Kantvilas & Elix, from Tasmania and mainland Australia is described, and the new combination, R. elabens (Fr.) Kantvilas & Elix is proposed. The South American R. petraeoides var. concava (Müll. Arg.) Fryday is considered a synonym of R. petraeoides (Nyl. ex C. Bab. & Mitt.) Kantvilas & Elix s. str., and R. crassithallina Kalb and R. sorediata Kalb, both previously considered endemic to Western Australia, are recorded from Tasmania for the first time. A key to the 11 species of Ramboldia is presented.
