Sustainability management is rapidly progressing from an operational task to a strategic imperative one as environmental and social concerns shape the business environment. Scenario planning is increasingly being used by companies and governments to explore the potential impact of future challenges. Applied in a management education context scenario planning offers teachers of sustainability a tool through which they can promote creativity while developing student knowledge, skills, and abilities, preparing them for work in an increasingly dynamic market environment. Within this article, an instructional innovation is presented as a two-stage workshop designed as an experiential exercise to promote creativity and generate scenarios linked to sustainability. The first stage of the workshop utilizes LEGO to generate creativity before the second stage builds on these creative foundations guiding student teams through the construction of scenarios around sustainability challenges. An evaluation is presented for the instructional innovation reporting its success in producing skills in creative thinking within cohorts of postgraduate students at a major Australian university.

This chapter illustrates some aspects of sustainability balanced scorecard and its implementation within an economic entity in the aluminum industry. The main objectives of this chapter are to present balanced scorecard and integrate the fifth pillar into sustainability balanced scorecard, including some of its considerations and challenges. The authors identify the causes of SBSC appearance and its conceptual-evolving treatments, some considerations stemming from the practical experience of specialists, but also some current and future challenges. The focus is on the implementation of the SBSC within an economic entity in the aluminum industry by presenting an original case study. It highlights the steps taken in designing and presenting the SBSC, including the architecture of the strategic sustainability map used to translate the strategic objectives of the entity and the performance indicators. Through the authors' contribution, a new conceptual-empirical framework is created to consider debate and aspects of sustainability encountered in the business environment around the world.

MaaS, with its user-centric vision aiming at more flexible, personalized, and on-demand mobility services, has a perspective to address the key sustainability challenges of the mobility of the future: transport solutions that are integrated, inclusive, and time-efficient, while containing the economic, social, and environmental costs. Civic engagement is a key success factor towards this objective: to fully embrace MaaS transformation, citizens need to feel part of the process. Gamification proved to be effective to raise citizens' awareness, encourage their participation, and promote a gradual but profound behavior change. These characteristics can be exploited by MaaS solutions to attract users and encourage the acceptance of tailored mobility plans. The chapter presents two successful cases of gamified systems aiming at promoting a more sustainable mobility, Play&Go and Kids Go Green; investigates the potential of gamified systems, in combination with MaaS solutions, in terms of citizens' engagement and behavior change; and discusses current limitations and future challenges.

The water–energy–food (WEF) nexus has emerged as a frontier issue in interdisciplinary research, and is one of the most complex sustainability challenges the world is faced with today. In this review, we ask: 1) how can the interdependent relationships among water, energy and food resources be identified? 2)what methods have been applied to understand these relationships? and 3) what are the future opportunities and challenges for the WEF nexus development? To answer these questions, we provide a critical assessment of the relevant literature from Web of Science database on WEF nexus published between 2008 and 2019 using a bibliometric analysis. Using the resulting 396 published articles, we systematically reviewed the concept and the bibliometric characteristics of the WEF nexus research to assess the development footprint. Based on the most popular topics and research methods found in these publications, we discussed the major research limitations as well as future opportunities and challenges for WEF research. An examination of internal and external relationships among topics showed that the three most recent hot areas of WEF nexus research include: 1) water, energy and food, 2) policy-making and resource management, and 3) system models and methods Specifically, considering that no one method can solve all problems, we innovatively summarized the application scope and the advantages and disadvantages of each method, with a particular focus on the WEF nexus models. This was undertaken to support readers in choosing a scientific method to analyze the specific WEF nexus-related issues. We anticipate that complex interdependence mechanisms, data uncertainty, analytical model development, and in-depth policy implementation will pose the greatest challenges for future WEF nexus research; however, these challenges will also generate better research opportunities. This bibliometric review highlights that to increase understanding of complex WEF systems and formulate optimal strategies to manage them, is of great significance for environmental and social sustainability.

Sugerencias que tratan de ayudarnos a reflexionar y a dilucidar propuestas creativas sobre nuestro futuro profesional.ABSTRACTThis paper tries to make us reflect on the future of Educational and Vocational Guidance within the current sociocultural crossroads and suggests some ideas about its possible evolution. It encourages us to face the problem and analyzes the importance that the new scientific field of "Prospective" is gaining in order to provide scientific solutions to the uncertain future challenges. An overview image of the state of the art in Guidance is suggested in order to discuss its possible functions within the coming society, in relation to: demographics (aging and migrations), youth, multiculture, technology, the school (specialization, diagnosis and reform), the labour world and its emerging trends and, finally, about the potential evolution of the current Guidance models. Suggestions are put forward, but the great questions still remain open. It concludes by emphasyzing that the objective of the paper was just to activate our creative thinking and motivate us to reflect upon our professional future.

A rapidly increasing number of businesses rely on visualisation solutions for their data management challenges. This demand stems from an industry-wide shift towards data-driven approaches to decision making and problem-solving. However, there is an overwhelming mass of heterogeneous data collected as a result. The analysis of these data become a critical and challenging part of the business process. Employing visual analysis increases data comprehension thus enabling a wider range of users to interpret the underlying behaviour, as opposed to skilled but expensive data analysts. Widening the reach to an audience with a broader range of backgrounds creates new opportunities for decision making, problem-solving, trend identification, and creative thinking. In this survey, we identify trends in business visualisation and visual analytic literature where visualisation is used to address data challenges and identify areas in which industries use visual design to develop their understanding of the business environment. Our novel classification of literature includes the topics of businesses intelligence, business ecosystem, customer-centric. This survey provides a valuable overview and insight into the business visualisation literature with a novel classification that highlights both mature and less developed research directions.
