School counselors are under increasing pressure to evaluate their programs in a manner consistent with teachers and other educators. A small-group counseling intervention was used by a school counselor as part of a three-level program planning initiative that illustrated best research practices to evaluate program outcomes. Forty-nine third-grade students with social skills deficits participated in a 10-week social skills intervention. Results indicated that children participating in the intervention experienced reduced loneliness and social anxiety as well as improved academic achievement. Implications for school counselors conducting evaluations in a practical and time-efficient manner are discussed.

This study evaluated the impact of a small group counseling intervention designed for students who underachieve. The results of the study demonstrated significant improvement for ninth- and tenth-grade underachieving students in the areas of organizational skills, time management, and motivation. The author discusses implications and recommendations for school counselors working with underachieving students.

Motivation is an important foundation of academic development in students. This article discusses academic motivation; its various component concepts in areas such as beliefs, goals, and values; and intrinsic and extrinsic motivation. It also presents major, widely studied theoretical perspectives of academic motivation and briefly illustrates strategies for increasing academic motivation. The article addresses the importance of the school counselor's role in student academic development and describes preventive (classroom guidance) and remedial (small-group counseling intervention and individual counseling intervention) approaches that school counselors can utilize for promoting academic motivation.

Professional school counselors face the challenge of delivering guidance and counseling services to students while connecting to the educational mission of schools. This article is a summary and evaluation of a small group counseling program that targets academic issues while addressing personal/social issues with elementary-aged children. Results suggest that integrating academic interventions and group counseling improved students’ behavior related to school achievement. Implications for school counselors and application of the ASCA National Model® are briefly discussed.

This article is a testimony of the results of practical experience and literacy studies on group counseling and group counseling. Since 1905 as the beginning of develop the group acknowledged that the approach is often effective to create an atmosphere that therapy can help people solve problems. Not only that certain groups are also often used for training and means ofsharing information. The fact remains found in the field of school counselors who have difficulty in organizing group activities. This article attempts to answer the question (1) how carry out the theory into practice group, (2) develop a model of group activities, (3) the author's experience in the group activities, (4) technology in group activities. Hope the author after reading this article and follow the workshop, will appear enlightenment that can stimulate the school counselor carry out the group's activities in school.

Cognitive-behavioral group counseling was studied with students that exhibited externalizing behavior. A total of 24 male students (12 control and 12 experimental) who exhibited externalizing behavior participated in this study. The intervention resulted in clear and salutary changes in the behavioral adjustment of students. The intervention demonstrates that school counselors can play a substantial role in remediating and preventing disruptive behavior in schools.

<em>Guidance and Counseling Services is one of the services that can play an active role in the midst of this co-19 pandemic so students can adjust to conditions, in accordance with the rules set by the government, keep the spirit of learning and can control their stress and anxiety in a healthy manner. In this case the role of the BK teacher / school counselor is very important. However, various obstacles may arise in the learning process due to pandemic conditions that cannot be ascertained when it will end. This is a formidable challenge for school counselors / school counselors. One solution that can be done is to modify group counseling services using the Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT) approach.
