Abstract Background The complex interrelationships between professional identity, job satisfaction, burnout, and turnover intention among general practitioners (GPs) are insufficiently understood in China. This study aimed to investigate the interrelationships between professional identity, job satisfaction, burnout, and turnover intention in China, and to examine whether job satisfaction and burnout played mediating roles between professional identity and turnover intention. Methods A cross-sectional survey was conducted between October, 2017 and February, 2018 in China. The participants were selected using a multistage stratified random sampling method. Data were collected with a self-administered questionnaire from 3236 GPs (response rate, 99.8%) working in community health institutions in China. Professional identity was measured by the 13 items scale, and job satisfaction scale with an 11-item designed by Shi et al. was employed. Burnout was measured using a 22-item Maslach Burnout Inventory-Human Services Survey, and turnover intention was measured with a 6 items scale. Descriptive statistics were calculated and groups’ differences were estimated Student’s t-test and analyses of variance. Pearson’s correlation analysis was used to assess the degree of correlation among different dimensions of professional identity, job satisfaction, burnout, and turnover intention. Structural equation modeling analysis was applied to examine the interrelationships among these study variables based on the hypothesized model. Results The proposed model achieved a good model fit. Job satisfaction had a direct negative effect on turnover intention (β = − 0.38, P < 0.001), burnout had a direct positive effect on turnover intention (β = 0.37, P < 0.001), and professional identity had an indirect negative effect on turnover intention through the mediating effect of job satisfaction and burnout. Conclusions Our study elucidated the pathways linking professional identity, job satisfaction, and burnout to turnover intention of GPs. This revealed that turnover intention was significantly affected by job satisfaction and burnout, and the effects of professional identity on turnover intention can be mediated by job satisfaction and burnout.

Abstract Background As the gatekeepers of rural residents ‘health, the team of village doctors plays a vital role in improving the health level of rural residents. However, a large number of village doctor’s turnover, or even dozens of them turnover collectively, threatening the stability of the village medical team. This research evaluated the influence of job satisfaction, resilience, work engagement on turnover intention of village doctor and explored the mediating role of resilience and work engagement between job satisfaction and turnover intention among village doctor in China.Methods A quantitative study using a self-administered questionnaire containing mostly structured items was conducted among the village doctors with a sample size of 2693 from 1345 rural hospitals or clinics of Shandong province, China, during May and June 2019. All variables including demographic characteristics, job satisfaction, resilience, work engagement and turnover intention were based on literature and measured on 5- or 6-point Likert scale. Such statistical methods as one-way ANOVA, bivariate correlation, exploratory factor analysis (EFA) and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) were used.Results As high as 46.9% of the participants had a high turnover intention and no less than 26.3% of the participants had a medium turnover intention. Job satisfaction not only has a direct negative effect on turnover intention(β=-0.37, p < 0.001), but also has an indirect effect on it through work engagement(β= -0.04, p < 0.001), work engagement has a direct negative impact on turnover intention(β= -0.13, p < 0.002), and resilience had an indirect negative effect on turnover intention through the mediating effect of work engagement(β= -0.09, p < 0.001). The results of this study strongly verified that job satisfaction, resilience, work engagement were early, powerful predicators of turnover intention.Conclusion According to the results, reasonable and fair income, effective promotion mechanism, fair social old-age security, reasonable workload, strong psychological coping mechanism for work stress, should be taken seriously to improve job satisfaction. The turnover intention of village doctors could be reduced through improving job satisfaction, resilience and work engagement.

High employee turnover rates are a classic problem that companies often encounter. The high turnover intensity can create instability and uncertainty about the condition of the workforce and the company itself. The results of previous research studies that have not been conclusive, led this study to examine the turnover intention with the career plateau approach and job satisfaction.Model and hypotheses were tested using primary data obtained through interviews using questionnaires on 100 respondents. The data obtained are then analyzed by using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) analysis technique. The result of statistic test showed that career plateau proved to have a significant negative effect on job satisfaction, the career plateau proved to have a significant positive effect on turnover intention, and job satisfaction had a negative effect on turnover intention.

This study discussed employee turnover as one of the crucial problems faced by every organization. This study sought to analyze the determinants of turnover intention, such as job insecurity, organizational commitment, and job satisfaction. The objects of this study were newcomer lecturers of private Islamic universities in East Java Province, Indonesia. To analyze the relationship among independent variables and dependent variable; this study employed a correlation path model. To build the structural formulation of the correlation path model, this study used the variance-based Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) as a Partial Least Square (PLS) analysis. The study found that job insecurity influenced job satisfaction and organizational commitment. Moreover, job satisfaction and organizational commitment had positive impacts on the turnover intention. In contrast, job insecurity did not have a direct significant impact on the turnover intention, but it had indirect effect that influences job satisfaction and organizational commitment.

The aims in this study were to examine the influence of job crafting, job satisfaction, and work engagement on employee turnover intention, and to investigate the role of work engagement and job satisfaction as mediators in the relationship between job crafting and employee turnover intention. A validated questionnaire was used to collect data from 212 employees of a service company in China. The results of structural equation modeling showed that work engagement and job satisfaction partially mediated the job crafting–turnover intention relationship. These findings extended prior research and confirmed that job crafting, job satisfaction, and work engagement were each a predictor of employee turnover intention. These findings suggest that the turnover intention of employees could be reduced through generating job-crafting behaviors, and by improving job satisfaction and work engagement.

Production deviance is 1 of 5 dimensions of counterproductive work behaviors (CWB). Based on data collected from 362 employees of Chinese enterprises, I examined the predictive effect of Confucian values on production deviance and the mediating effect of job satisfaction on the relationship between Confucian values and production deviance using structural equation modeling. I analyzed 3 factors of production deviance: work sabotage, slackness, and withdrawal. Confucian values were found to have a significant negative impact on these factors. Furthermore, job satisfaction was found to partially mediate the relationship between Confucian values slackness and withdrawal, but not work sabotage.

Drawing from social exchange theory, we investigated the relationship between job insecurity and turnover intention, and the mediating effect of organizational commitment on this relationship. Structural equation modeling was employed to investigate the hypotheses using data from 459 employees in various firms in South Korea. Our findings confirmed that job insecurity was positively related to turnover intention, and that organizational commitment mediated the relationship between job insecurity and turnover intention. Implications of our findings for the job insecurity literature are discussed in the Korean context, and directions for future research are given.

Purpose This paper aims to provide an alternative explanation for how organizations could increase levels of organizational identification, in turn reducing employee turnover intention. Specifically, the study empirically tests the joint effect of two types of organizational resources – structural empowerment and serving culture (SE*SC) – on employee identification. Moreover, it investigates the mediating effect of organizational identification on the relationship between the joint effect (SE*SC) and turnover intention. Design/methodology/approach The data were collected in 2018 from employees working in a higher education institution located in the USA. Structural equation modeling was used to test the proposed model. Findings Statistical analysis reveals the positive joint effect (SE*SC) on organizational identification and the mediating effect of identification on the relationship between the joint effect (SE*SC) and turnover intention. Originality/value This study contributes to past research by revealing a new important mechanism. Business organizations could increase levels of employee identification and, in turn, reduce turnover by providing empowering resources that allow employees to successfully complete their jobs. Moreover, the study also contributes to practice by providing some recommendations that managers may implement to improve internal effectiveness in their respective organizations.

Abstract Background Turnover intention is a major cause of reduced team morale and low work efficiency. It hinders work performance and reduces the quality of medical services. This study aimed to investigate the relationship between financial satisfaction and turnover intention and its mediators among primary care providers. Methods Multi-stage random cluster sampling was used to select 1241 participants from four counties and three districts in Anhui province, China. Data were collected using a self-administered questionnaire. Turnover intention was assessed with a turnover intention assessment scale. Perceived social support and burnout were measured with the 12-item Perceived Social Support Scale and the Chinese version of the Maslach Burnout Inventory, respectively. Structural equation modeling was used for data analysis. Results The findings showed high turnover intention among primary care providers (mean score 14.16 ± 4.337), and most providers reported low financial satisfaction (mean score 2.49 ± 0.990). The mean perceived social support score was 64.93 ± 13.229, and only 6.1% of primary care providers reported no burnout. Compared with participants with high financial satisfaction, those with low financial satisfaction were more likely to report higher turnover intention (β = − 0.216, p < 0.001), less perceived social support (β = 0.181, p < 0.001), and more severe burnout (β = − 0.123, p < 0.05). Turnover intention may be related to perceived social support (β = − 0.147, p < 0.001) and burnout (β = 0.239, p < 0.001). Furthermore, the effect of financial satisfaction on turnover intention was significantly mediated by perceived social support (β = − 0.027, p < 0.001) and burnout (β = − 0.029, p < 0.05). Conclusions Turnover intention is associated with financial satisfaction, with this association mediated by perceived social support and burnout. A reasonable mechanism needs to be established to improve financial satisfaction and perceived social support and reduce burnout among primary care providers.

<p>The problem of this research was Turnover intention is a factor of discomfort experienced agent in a company. Turnover intention needs to get serious attention to the organization especially to leadership or manager so can applying force leadership proper and improve job satisfaction to reduce job stress in the company.<br />The purpose of this research was the effect of leadership style and job satisfaction toward Turnover intention throught job stress at customer service (frontline) PT Tiki Jalur Nugraha Ekakurir (JNE), Tomang Jakarta.<br />The methodology of this research was testing hypothesis. The data used were primary data collected from questionaire. The samples consisted of 164customer service (frontline)PT Tiki Jalur Nugraha Ekakurir (JNE), which were determined through purposive sampling method. The data were analyzed through Structural Equation Model (SEM) of AMOS version 23.0for Windows.<br />The results of the study showed that there have been negative effect and significant between leadership style and job satisfaction toward Turnover intention throught job stress. The role of job stress very dominant as a mediator the influence of leadership style and job satisfaction toward Turnover intention.<br />Implication of this research is expected to managers can increase the determinants job stress itself for example by raising job satisfaction (salary, reward, job promotion) and applying force leadership proper and able to adjust with all the work situation.</p>

Accommodation businesses are stressful workplaces due to their dynamic and demanding work environment. Role ambiguity and role conflict are major stress factors for hotel employees, causing low levels of satisfaction and performance and high levels of turnover. The main purpose of this study was to explore the mediating effect of job satisfaction on the relationship between role conflict, role ambiguity, and job performance. The data was collected through fully structured questionnaires from employees working in 3, 4 and 5 star hotels in Alanya, one of the leading tourism destinations in Turkey. The data was analyzed via structural equation modeling. The results revealed that both role conflict and role ambiguity have direct negative influences on job performance and job satisfaction for hotel employees. Moreover, it was also proved that job satisfaction mediates the effect of role conflict and role ambiguity on job performance. In line with the findings, theoretical and managerial implications, contributions, limitations, and future research directions were discussed. It was implied that role stress factors must be addressed seriously by hotel managers in order to increase job performance.
