A procedure for estimating background‐correction terms for the uranium channel of an airborne gamma‐ray survey has been developed. The residuals obtained from a multiple linear regression of flight‐line means for the uranium channel on the means for thorium and potassium are used to correct the uranium channel for each line. The procedure assumes that, were it not for these background errors, the uranium flight‐line means would be a linear function of the means for potassium and thorium. It also assumes that the background correction is the same for the whole of each line. In spite of these limitations, the method produces good background estimates consistent with those found by more sophisticated methods.

ABSTRACT. Nuclebrás and Comissão Nacional de Energia Nuclear (CNEN) investigated northeastern Goiás State, Brazil, in the 1970s and 1980s to detect radioactiveelements, when the Rio Preto and Campos Belos prospective uranium projects were undertaken. These projects identified an estimated 1,000 tons of U3O8, which wasconsidered small and, therefore, search was interrupted in these areas. In 2006, an airborne geophysical survey covered these areas with gamma ray spectrometry andmagnetometry data. Aerogeophysical data has been widely used in the direct detection of uranium mineralized bodies. However, in areas of great lithological variability, the determination of the anomalous values becomes difficult because uranium concentration is significantly influenced by the rock type. The objective of this study isto evaluate the multiple linear regression technique applied to the aerogeophysical data that cover the anomalous lithological units of uranium in northeastern Goiás,using the methodology proposed by Pires et al. (2010), to mitigate the influence of lithology on the uranium concentrations. The results demonstrate the effectivenessof the proposed methodology for the removal of lithological influences on the uranium levels, highlighted the known uranium occurrences in the region and identifiednew prospective targets for this radioelement. Keywords: gamma ray spectrometry, magnetometry, anomaly enhancement, Ticunzal Formation, Aurumina Suite.

There is a recognized need for the determination of total organic carbon (TOC) as an essential factor in the evaluation of source rocks. In this study, the ∆LogR technique was coupled with logging curves of sonic, resistivity, spectral gamma-ray (SGR), and computed gamma-ray (CGR) to determine an accurate content of TOC in the Gadvan Formation. Multiple linear regression analysis was also applied to the ∆LogR technique. To this aim, 14 samples of the Gadvan Formation were taken from Wells B and C in the South Pars field and analyzed using Rock-Eval pyrolysis. Results from the ∆LogR technique and multiple linear regression analysis, well logs, and Rock-Eval were compared to calculate the accurate content of TOC in the Gadvan Formation. Geochemical data confirmed that the Gadvan Formation was a relatively poor source rock in the South Pars field, as average TOC and Tmax values of the samples were 0.79 and less than 430 °C, respectively. Also, the content of potassium (K < 0.1%) confirmed the origin of the source rock as a pure carbonate, whereas the low content of thorium (Th < 5 ppm) was indicative of the percentage of clays. There was a moderate content of uranium (U < 10 ppm), suggesting that the Gadvan Formation was not deposited in an excellent reducing environment to conserve the organic matter. Moreover, the results from the integration of the multiple linear regression model with SGR and CGR showed that the value of R2 was higher than the results obtained without SGR and CGR. Findings from this study could help the exploration and production team to determine the accurate content of TOC using the ∆LogR technique in association with logging curves.

The study aims to analyze the influence of internal banking factors in the form of: Capital Adequency Ratio (CAR), Financing to Deposit Ratio (FDR) and Total Assets (TA) to Non Performing Financing at Sharia Banks. This research method used multiple linear regression analysis with the help of SPSS 16.00 software which is used to see the influence between the independent variables in the form of Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR), Financing to Deposit Ratio (FDR) and Total Assets (TA) to Non Performing Financing. The sample of this study was 3 Islamic Commercial Banks, so there were 36 annual reports obtained through purposive sampling, then analyzed using multiple linear regression methods. The results showed that based on the F Test, the independent variable had an effect on the NPF, indicated by the F value of 17,016 and significance of 0,000, overall the independent variable was able to explain the effect of 69.60%. While based on the partial t test, showed that CAR has a significant negative effect, Total assets have a significant positive effect with a significance value below 0.05 (5%). Meanwhile FDR does not affect NPF.
