This research is aimed to develop song as media in writing descriptive text basedon the students’ needs and curriculum 2006 for the tenth grade students of SMA N2 Kisaran. There is one problem formulated in this research, How is song mediadeveloped in writing descriptive text to the tenth grade students of SMA N 2Kisaran. In order to answer the problem, the researcher conducted Research andDevelopment (R & D) method. The subject of this research was 2016/2017students of the tenth grade of SMA N 2 Kisaran. The number of the students was35 students. The data of this study was collected by using need analysisquestionnaire and expert judgment. Need analysis questionnaire was calculated byusing percentage to get the information of students’ need before developing songmedia. Expert judgment data were calculated by using score average of criteriainterval of expert judgment to know the validity of song media which has beendeveloped. After the data analyzed, it was found that the experts’ judgment resultwas 3.65 which had a good criteria interval.

Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengidentifikasi (1) perbedaan keefektifan antara penggunaan media mind mapping dengan pembelajaran tanpa media dalam pembelajaran keterampilan berpidato siswa SMK, (2) perbedaan keefektifan antara penggunaan media poster dengan pembelajaran tanpa media dalam pembelajaran keterampilan berpidato siswa SMK, serta (3) perbedaan keefektifan penggunaan media poster dengan media mind mapping dalam pembelajaran keterampilan berpidato siswa SMK. Desain eksperimen yang digunakan adalah Randomized Pretest-Postest Control Group Design, dengan dua kelompok eksperimen dan satu kelompok kontrol. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh peserta didik kelas X jurusan otomotif SMK Diponegoro Depok, Sleman, Yogyakarta. Penentuan kelompok kontrol dan eksperimen dilakukan secara random. Pengumpulan data penenelitian melalui lembar penilaian performansi keterampilan berpidato. Instrumen divalidasi dengan uji validitas isi yang melibatkan expert judgment. Data dianalisis dengan Anava dilanjutkan dengan uji Scheffe. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) media mind mapping lebih efektif dibandingkan pembelajaran tanpa media pembelajaran, (2) media poster lebih efektif dibandingkan pembelajaran tanpa media pembelajaran, (3) media mind mapping merupakan media yang paling efektif dibandingkan dengan media poster dan pembelajaran tanpa media. This study deals with the developing writing descriptive text for students of vocational school. The objective of the study is to develop the English writing materials to cope with the students’ needs for grade X students of Tourism Program in SMKN 1 Sidikalang for better materials which are appropriate with the students’ need of tourism program. The research was conducted by using Research and Development (R&D) method. The subject of the research was 2017/2018 students of tenth grade of class X UPW 1 at SMKN 1 Sidikalang. The number of the students was 35 students. The data of this study was collected based on the questionnaire analysis, the interview analysis, the experts judgment and selective writing text. Need analysis questionnaire was calculated by using percentage to get the information of students’ need before developing writing text materials particularly descriptive text. Expert judgment data was calculated by using criteria interval of expert judgment to know validity of writing materials which has been developed. The writing materials were in the form of writing text and writing skills which consisted of thirteen tasks. After the data analyzed, it was found that the expert’s judgment result was 4.5which had a very good criteria interval. The result of the research finds that the developed writing materials are relevant which cope with the students’ need and appropriate to be used in teaching and learning.

This study deals with the developing of ESP Reading materials for students of vocational school. The objectives of the study are to analyze the reading materials which are appropriately used for pharmacy students and to develop the reading text materials for pharmacy students for relevant materials which are appropriate with to the needs of Pharmacy students. The research was conducted by using Research and Development (R&D) method. The subject of the research was 2017/2018 students of the eleventh grade of class B at SMKF Pharmaca Medan. The number of the students was 33 students. The data of this study was collected by need questionnaire analysis, interview analysis, expert judgment and selective reading text. Need analysis questionnaire was calculated by using percentage to get the information of student’s need before developing ESP Reading materials particularly procedure text. Expert judgment data were calculated by using criteria interval of Expert judgment to know validity of the ESP reading materials which has been developed. The ESP reading material was in the form of reading text and reading skill which consisted of sixteen tasks. After the data analyzed, it was found that the experts’s judgment result was 4.4 which had a very good criteria interval and categorized as relevant.The result of the research to find that the developed ESP Reading material was a very good material to be used in teaching learning.
