The subjects of this study were second-semester students of the English Department for the 2020/2021 academic year STKIP PGRI Trenggalek. The research procedure includes need analysis, studying theories of educational, developing the educational product, validating product to expert, and field-testing the product. By using the website and combined with the three stages in the Discovery Listening technique, it can increase students' learning motivation and comprehension toward listening material. This can be seen from the results of pre-motivation getting a score of 1051 (almost disagree). This means that respondents rarely plan listening learning activities. Then, the results of the post-motivation questionnaire obtained a score of 1810 (almost agree). That is, there is an increase related to students' learning motivation in learning listening by using the Discovery Listening Website. In conclusion, based on the research findings described above. This research has been able to develop DIVISITE (Discovery Listening Website) and facilitate student learning in listening. Furthermore, this research was able to achieve the research objectives, namely DIVISITE (Discovery Listening Website) to facilitate students learning in listening subject.

Effective delivery of post-insertion instructions is essential for denture care and oral health. This study aimed to develop a progressive web application (PWA) to educate patients’ chairside and serve as a reference material. A need analysis was conducted before prototype development. Subsequently, the prototype was subjected to content verification, design appraisal and usability testing. The results of usability testing revealed a user task success rate of 94.4%, with an adjusted Wald 95% confidence interval of 83–100%. User satisfaction assessed using the Single Ease Questionnaire and System Usability Score reported a mean score of 6.13 (95% CI: 5.69–6.55) and 85.9 (95% CI: 82.2–89.6), respectively, indicating good usability. This study highlights the systematic approach of developing an evidence-based educational PWA to meet the usability standards for mobile applications. This PWA is useful in clinical studies to explore mobile technologies’ potential in educating denture wearers, especially in the older population.

Many studies have discussed the Think-Pair-Share strategy to increase students' learning motivation in various scientific fields, especially in learning English. However, it still requires more exploration concerning TPS implementation for seventh-grader students to improve their proficiency when engaged in narrative reading. This research departs from the student's opinion about the struggle to read and understand the narrative text, and the class was so boring. Therefore, it is assumed that the use of TPS can increase the student’s motivation in reading narrative text. The design chosen is classroom action research (CAR) implemented at MTs. Darul Hikmah Jabon. The participants were 26 students. This research is done with one pre-cycle for need analysis and two cycles to see the increase of the student's score. In the pre-cycle, only three students reached the success criteria. In the first cycle, the scores did not significantly increase; only eleven students succeeded. In the second cycle, twenty-three students showed improvement. It resumed that the TPS technique is very effective for increasing student motivation on reading narrative text. Need analysis is an essential element in the process of designing any language course as it seeks to cater for what learners need in their lessons. This study proposes a framework to analyse learners’ needs for exam preparation courses. The proposed framework adopts the works of Macalister, Nation, and Brindley to address different linguistic and non-linguistic needs. To the best of the researcher’s knowledge, no framework has ever been provided for teachers to carry out need analysis in the context of preparing for international exams. In this study, therefore, the framework was applied to find learners’ needs in an exam preparation course for an A2 English level international exam. The participants were 10 learners aged 10-12 enrolled on a course in a private language centre. The data were collected through a combination of quantitative and qualitative tools, that is to say, by questionnaires, tests, and classroom observations. Results revealed that the framework herein proposed gives a detailed understanding of the learners’ needs prior to the course showing that learners from this study have difficulties in the skills of reading, writing, and listening. Findings also revealed learners’ preference for a variety of classroom activities, online games, and art-crafts.

Strategically developed assessment rubrics are essential to ascertain fair and consistent assessment grading. Nevertheless, devising assessment rubrics poses certain drawbacks as scores that determine students’ capability are awarded holistically. In order to assure that students’ grades indeed reflect their current capability and to provide effective feedback on aspects that demand improvement, rubrics must accurately evaluate and measure the performances displayed by students. Hence, this study identified the suitability and acceptability of multimodal reading assessment upon assessing reading skills among secondary school students. This study, which involved English language teachers from several schools located across Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia, had adopted the survey research method to design a multimodal reading assessment rubric and to obtain teachers’ views on multimodal reading and viewing (MMRV). The study outcomes signified that although the teachers acknowledged and were aware of the advantages of applying MMRV, the absence of such rubric that specifically assesses MMRV seemed to limit this practice in classroom. This study concludes that it is imperative to formulate a comprehensive MMRV-based rubric to enable teachers assess their students’ reading skills in a more accurate manner.
