Abstract Purpose To know the role of Ultrasonography and MR Arthrogram in detection of shoulder joint disorders Methods and material Thirty patients with suspected shoulder joint disorders underwent US,MRI ,MR arthrography shoulder. Results All cases with ALAPSA, Bankert, reverse bankert, hillsachs, perthes and SLAP are diagnosed accurately by MR arthrography with sensitivity of (100%) in GLAD ,Supraspinatus tendenopathy ,Supraspinatus tendon tear and IGHL injury sensitivity was decreased to 75%,in cases of paraglenid cysts arthrography did not diagnose any of them as there are no communication between the cyst and the joint Conclusion MR arthrography shoulder has a golden rule in diagnosis ,classification of cases of shoulder dislocation ,SLAP injuries and rotator cuff impingement

The article traced the main provisions on mechanism of action of slow-acting symptom-modifying drugs (SYSADOA): cartilage reparation, influence on nuclear factor κB, IL-6, IL-8, VEGF, transcription factor SOX9, etc. The effectiveness of SYSADOA drugs in the complex treatment of shoulder pain was evaluated. The inclusion of the bioactive concentrate from small sea fish (BCSSF) into the treatment regimen helps to reduce the number of recurrences of pain after the cancellation of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. We revealed a higher percentage of patients with significant pain reduction and restoration of the function of the shoulder joint in the group receiving BCSSF injections. The results of the study suggest the feasibility of including BCSSF in the complex scheme of treatment of pain in the shoulder joint.

Collegiate male athletes and nonathletes’ (N = 76) level of life satisfaction was assessed at termination of their collegiate careers, and further analyses indicated the degree of association between athletic injury history and life satisfaction after accounting for demographic and career-planning variables. While no significant Group or Group by Race interaction effects were found, life satisfaction was significantly lower among African American students. Regression analysis, controlling for demographic variables, further indicated that athletes who had sustained a severe athletic injury were no less satisfied with life than noninjured and moderately injured athletes. However, athletes who could state a postcollegiate occupational plan were significantly more satisfied with life than those who were unable to indicate such a goal. Results suggest that the role of athletic participation and athletic injury with respect to life satisfaction may have been overemphasized. The potential role of career planning in understanding termination from collegiate sport is discussed.

Backgroud: Have been done research about making of the design tools fixation on radiographic examination shoulder against the backdrop of the difficulty in positioning the patient to commit abduction. The purpose of the design is to replace the role of the patient's family or resident physician in charge of holding the cassette and the patient's arm in abduction during the examination takes place. Methods: This research is a quantitative with explorative experimental approach. The method used in data collection that is designing the tools, use tools, and test tools function. Test function tools made directly to the patient in the Radiology department of DR.Sardjito Yogyakarta. The results of test functions are analyzed based check list of respondents about the value of work tools. Results: The results of design tools fixation on radiographic examination shoulder joint inferosuperior axial projections in the form of iron under the buffer, the buffer on iron, steel main buffer, where handrail 1, where handrail 2 and the cassette place. The workings of the device is placed beside the examination table, abduction of the patient's arm and place it on a hand grip and place cassette on a the cassette place. The function test results on the assessment tool's ability to adjust to the state of the patient's arm, the ability of the tool settings when adjusting the tool height to the height of the examination table or brangkar, the ability of the tool settings when adjusting the length of the tool with the patient's arm length of, the ability of the tool setting in place the cassette on tools, the ability of setting tool in positioning the tape on the object of examination, the ability of the tool to produce radiographs that do not cause artifacts..Conclusion: the ability to show the joints between the glenoid cavity of the humeral head to 2.37. It can be concluded that the tools fixation radiographic examination of shoulder joint inferosuperior axial projection has a pretty good performance.

Septic arthritis is an Orthopaedic emergency, threatening the joint within hours of onset. Up to 10% of cases of meningococcaemia have an associated septic arthritis. The aetiology of acute meningococcaemia in a variety of clinical syndromes is well documented in the literature. The pathogenNeisseria meningitidiscan cause both primary and secondary manifestations of disseminated infection. Broad-range 16S rDNA PCR is a relatively new technique, useful in identifying aetiological agents in septic patients with negative blood cultures. Here, we describe the rare clinical scenario of a 76-year-old woman with primary meningococcal septic arthritis of a native shoulder joint without associated meningococcal bloodstream infection. We discuss the role of 16s rDNA Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) in the identification of the infectious agent,Neisseria meningitidis, and the role of this technique in guiding subsequent management.

This investigation sought to extend the existing scientific literature regarding the role of psychological processes in athletic injury rehabilitation. Specifically, the study examined (a) psychological responses of injured athletes to season-ending injuries, and (b) long-term benefits athletes perceived they obtained from their injuries. In-depth interviews were conducted with US Ski Team athletes (N = 21) who experienced injuries during racing seasons from 1990 to 1994. The data were analyzed using the content analysis procedures described by Scanlan, Stein, and Ravizza (1989). Relative to athletes’ reactions to being injured, 136 raw data themes were extracted which coalesced into 4 general dimensions: (a) injury-relevant information processing/awareness, (b) emotional upheaval/reactive behavior, (c) positive outlook/coping attempts, and (d) other. With respect to injury benefits, 81 raw data themes emerged and formed 4 dimensions: (a) personal growth, (b) psychologically- based performance enhancements, (c) physical-technical development, and (d) none. The results are discussed in relation to existing models of injury recovery and stress.

This review presents a framework for understanding the role of social support in athletic injury prevention and recovery. The stress-injury model is presented, which is the theoretical basis for many studies on psychosocial factors related to injury in sport. In addition, we discuss the definition of social support, types and sources of social support for the athlete, and strategies supporting others can use to show their support. Finally, using social support as a rehabilitation strategy and gender differences will be presented.
